This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 341 - 279 The Big Flag
Little Qing slowly lifted her head when she heard the words and saw Feng Jiu wearing a golden mask.
The young girl did not recognize the mask, and although she had heard few legends about the Demon Emperor, she felt the figure before her was so majestic, so comforting.
"My name is Little Qing!" For some reason, the normally strong Little Monster couldn’t help but shed tears. Although she tried hard to stop them, not wanting the person before her to see her weakness, tears still slid down her cheeks like a string of pearls.
"Little Qing, that’s a beautiful name," Feng Jiu sighed softly before speaking.
As she slowly moved forward, at that moment, the destroyed Demon Capital seemed to come alive.
Endless light surged from the ground to the sky, instantly spreading throughout the entire Demon Capital. These beams of light interwove together, forming building after building, as if the ancient Demon Court had crossed endless years to reappear on this land.
All Monsters were astonished, gaping in amazement at the spectacle before them, as if witnessing a miracle, feeling as though they were in a dream.
"What’s going on here, these buildings?" someone exclaimed in shock.
Upon closer inspection, some realized the architectural style and patterns belonged to the Demon Court of ancient times; this was clearly the ancient Demon Court.
"The ancient era has been resurrected; we are seeing the Demon Court."
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone became excited. This was the former Demon Court, the most glorious moment for the Demon Clan, where both power and civilization had reached their pinnacle.
All the Monsters present had heard countless times of the former glories of the Demon Court. They regretted not being born at the right time to witness that golden age.
Now they could experience that glory in person, an opportunity countless others could only dream of.
Some greedy Monsters had already begun to explore, for this was the legendary Demon Court. Any item taken from here was a rare treasure. Having stumbled upon such an opportunity, they didn’t want to let it slip by; as for the so-called glory of the Demon Clan, it had nothing to do with them.
However, when their greedy hands touched the things around them, they felt nothing. Everything before them was only an illusion.
"Ah!"
Feng Jiu sighed again, her voice clearly reaching the ears of every Monster, compelling an involuntary reverence.
As she continued to walk forward, the empty city began to fill with shadows of people, those Monsters that had once lived in this city and died with the fall of the Demon Court in ancient times, now seemingly coming back to life.
They were walking on the streets of the Demon Capital, talking, as if they had never died.
The people in reality watched these past figures pass by, oblivious to the existence of the onlookers.
Just like two parallel lines that would never intersect.
Two worlds coexisted in such a peculiar way.
Feng Jiu did not stop her advance; with her steps, the ethereal shadows of Monsters constantly knelt on the ground, welcoming their Emperor.
And Feng Jiu’s aura gradually became stronger, the surrounding monsters felt this terrifying aura and their bodies involuntarily knelt on the ground.
"Who is he?" a rebellious monster shouted loudly.
The pride within did not wish to bow or yield, but the aura was so terrifying that it felt like an insurmountable mountain pressing down on one’s back, involuntarily bending one’s waist.
Struggling to raise his head, what came into view was a towering figure and that golden mask.
"The Demon Emperor!" he blurted out, this mask had appeared in countless mythical stories, it was the symbol of the Demon Emperor, and associating it with the many figures of the Demon Clan knelt on the ground, the identity of this Mysterious Person became apparent.
Feng Jiu paid no heed to the cries of the crowd and continued forward, soon the illusory palace appeared before her, a symbol of the power she once held.
The voices of congratulation began to echo between heaven and earth, as the Demon Clan welcomed the return of their Emperor.
"I am back!" Feng Jiu murmured softly.
This voice, although soft as it left her lips, grew larger and more resounding as it spread through the air, eventually echoing throughout heaven and earth.
A red banner suddenly appeared amidst heaven and earth, towering and majestic, with its fabric a brilliant red, on it the massive character for "demon" fluttering in the wind, carrying a mysterious power.
In this moment, all living beings within the Three Realms could see this great banner, reappearing in the Three Realms after the last attempt by Nine-headed Insect to raise it.
"The banner of the Demon Clan, I thought it had completely disappeared from the Three Realms," a great power sighed softly, his words showing no disdain for the existence of this banner.
"Hmph, a bunch of beaten dogs thinking they can turn the world upside down," sneered another, after all, in the last struggle for the title of Master of Heaven and Earth, Feng Jiu was the clear loser.
But no matter the attitude of the crowd, when this banner waved in the wind across the Three Realms, it signified the return of the once powerful Demon Court.
"Ah! One can never have peace. When will such chaotic days end?" a long-haired cultivator gazed at the distant fluttering banner and sighed.
Little Qing held her little head high, scrutinizing the grand banner that pierced the sky, and a feeling of boundless pride suddenly emerged in her young heart.
This was a banner forged in blood and fire, still carrying the indomitable spirits of the Demon Clan, capable of calling the clan to unite, and even more so, of awakening the desire for freedom in the hearts of the clan.
One could say this banner was the foundation of the Demon Clan; after the Jade Emperor defeated the Demon Emperor, the banner was intended to be destroyed. However, Feng Jiu managed to hide it away using mysterious methods.
In the countless years that followed, the Heavenly Court attempted to find and destroy this banner, but all efforts were in vain, and even the Divine Exorcist Great Saint, with all his methods, could not locate it.
Today, with its reappearance, some finally understood Feng Jiu’s methods; this banner was hidden in the hearts of countless demons. When the rightful Demon Emperor, acknowledged by the people, emerged, the banner would naturally appear in the hands of the Demon Emperor.
Unfortunately, over the years, under the oppression of the Heavenly Court, no new Emperor emerged among the Demon Clan, hence the banner did not surface.
Feng Jiu stepped forward slowly, raising this banner, and suddenly the wind surged, and countless phantoms of the Demon Clan spread in all directions. Every monster that saw these phantoms understood something.
It was the legacy of the strong; these perished monsters had left part of their legacy within the banner, so when the banner waved, the monsters who saw it had the opportunity to inherit the legacies of these departed strong ones.
