This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 376 - 244 Massacre
Juexing walked leisurely through the forest, as if all his troubles had gone with the wind.
He felt a sense of release, his spirit uplifted, past worries vanished, it was as if he could see the mind and understand the nature, convincing him that he had indeed found the right path.
Time passed unknowingly, and he finally arrived at the base of Two Realms Mountain.
Gazing at the majestic mountain, he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by emotion, remembering how confident they all were when they crossed the mountain back then, determined to establish a new Earthly Buddhist Kingdom for the Buddhist Sect.
In just a few days, he was the only one left, a testament to the unpredictable nature of life, beyond even those who practiced cultivation to foresee.
With a sigh, Juexing stepped out of Two Realms Mountain.
A step was all it took to cross between two worlds.
Before him, he was a destitute monk, but in the blink of an eye, he became a Buddhist Golden Body Arhat, bathed in Buddha’s Light.
What once were tattered robes, transformed instantaneously into a dazzling kasaya, while the injuries he had accumulated over time disappeared without a trace. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Haha!" Juexing laughed heartily as he looked up to the sky.
At this moment, he had finally left behind the Demon Land, regaining the power that once belonged to him.
Looking back at the land to the East, now hidden by clouds and mist, he made a silent vow never to return.
Next, he was supposed to return to Mount Ling, where he planned to confront the high and mighty Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, questioning why they abandoned their followers. Now, however, he had a better idea.
Suddenly, an auspicious cloud appeared beneath his feet, and he flew towards the West. Mid-flight, he heard the tumult of voices below. Looking down, he saw a vicious gang of bandits going about their daily business of robbery.
A group of frail commoners trembled under their ferocious gaze, falling prey to the most cruel bandits within a hundred miles, barely clinging to life.
Many silently prayed for salvation deep in their hearts.
As if he heard their silent pleas, Juexing halted his cloud and slowly descended.
"Tsk, just a bunch of paupers, all this effort for nothing," a man with a deep scar on his face spat on the ground, dissatisfied.
His eyes, filled with a ferocious gleam, scanned the surroundings, lingering over the faces of each woman.
All the women quietly lowered their heads, fully aware of the bleak fate awaiting them at the hands of these heartless bandits.
In this world, the weak cannot control their own destiny, and despite their best efforts to hide, the sharp-eyed bandits easily discovered them.
Amidst the screams, one by one, women were dragged out, while the surrounding bandits looked on with lascivious eyes, eager for gratification.
At that moment, a voice came from behind them.
"Amitabha Buddha, well done, well done."
Upon hearing this, the crowd looked back and saw a monk in a kasaya, his expression compassionate.
"Where did this monk come from, meddling in our business? Believe it or not, I will chop you down with one swing," a bandit said menacingly.
"Sinful, sinful," the monk merely replied, bowing his head and chanting softly.
"Such a racket, this monk must have fried his brain with all that scripture chanting, just perfect for us to send him off to the Western Heaven, to meet his Buddha," one man said, laughing and taunting.
They didn’t take the monk before them seriously at all and used various words to make fun of him.
"All living beings are equal, as long as you are willing, you too can become a Buddha," the monk replied, though his answer seemed unrelated to their mocking.
The leader with a scar on his face laughed and said, "Monk, what you said is quite interesting. Since all beings are equal, does that mean we can also become Buddhas?"
"That’s right, benefactor, you certainly can become a Buddha," he agreed.
"Since that’s the case, I’d like to see how you’re going to make us into Buddhas," Scarface said with a sinister smile.
"Don’t say I didn’t warn you, if you can’t do it, today you’ll be heading to the Underworld," he threatened.
The monk, still smiling, said, "Please rest assured, benefactor, I will now help you achieve Buddhahood."
Having said that, the monk slowly stepped forward, and under the watchful eyes of all, he punched and exploded Scarface’s head. Bright red blood mixed with pure white brain matter suddenly splattered onto the monk’s head, creating a striking contrast.
However, the monk seemed to pay no mind to the blood and flesh on himself, and his normally compassionate face, now framed with blood, appeared even more demonic, sending chills down the spines of the desperados.
"A monster!" cried a robber in fear as he stepped back, feeling that the monk before him resembled the monsters of legend.
Yet the monk’s face was suffused with a smile, his eyes becoming incredibly bright, as if he saw some rare treasure in the people before him.
Screams rose and fell upon this land, and in no time, not a single living person could be seen on this stretch of earth, only a ground covered in fresh blood remained.
A monk stood quietly amidst the pool of blood, still chanting scripture, the blood dyeing his body a bright red, adding to his ghastly appearance.
"Amitabha Buddha, well done, well done."
Juexing looked at the corpses scattered around and whispered the chant, feeling a strange sense of relief coursing through him, filling him with an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.
He felt his condition was the best it had ever been, even feeling as if the past few decades had been wasted.
At this moment, he felt closer to the Buddha, and this achievement only strengthened his belief that the path he was on now was the true path to Buddha.
Those on Mount Ling who practiced cultivation pursued a false Buddha, having fallen into the Demon Path—no wonder Heaven and Earth had brought down such a calamity.
Thinking this, Juexing’s face once again showed a profound sense of freedom. His whole being radiated a mysterious charisma, appearing as if above worldly concerns, yet his demeanor was dignified, and his heart full of compassion.
Golden Buddha’s Light illuminated his body, instantly cleansing the blood and bits of flesh from him. Then, clouds began to form under his feet, and he headed towards Mount Ling.
Soon after he left, a person in a Black Robe slowly appeared at the site. Looking over the chaotic aftermath, he chuckled softly, "Truly worthy of being his chosen seed, excellent potential. He has shifted his mindset so quickly, the grand play is about to begin."
With a low chuckle, the figure of the man in the Black Robe slowly vanished from the spot, as if he had never been there at all.
The thick scent of blood quickly attracted countless animals to the area, and they frantically indulged in the feast that had come from nowhere, swiftly eradicating any trace.
No one would know that a cruel and inhumane slaughter had occurred here.
Mountains and rivers might be insurmountable in a lifetime for ordinary people, but for cultivators, that is hardly a difficulty.
Empowered with mana, Juexing soon saw the Buddha’s Light that bathed Mount Ling.
