Although these Heavenly Soldiers and Generals had limited experience, they could still feel the overwhelming tide of the era about to engulf them.

"Fortunately, the Immortal Transformation Pond will soon recover; otherwise, what would we do?" someone said with considerable relief.

"I think it’s better not to be so optimistic," replied another. "Have you forgotten what happened this time? For these major powers, our Undying Bodies are not without countermeasures. In the future, it would be wise to be cautious, lest we foolishly throw our lives away."

The people around nodded in agreement.

They were not the type to sacrifice their lives for beliefs; previously, their fearlessness stemmed from their Undying Bodies. Now, knowing that it wasn’t always effective, the fear of death surged in their hearts once more.

The events in the Heavenly Court were truly affecting everyone.

Many Heavenly soldiers were burdened with heavy thoughts and felt confused about the future for the first time.

Of course, they were not the only ones confused; the Star Lords were as well.

At that moment, Ziwei Star Lord was sitting in his tent. Since the defeat on the battlefield, he had withdrawn from public view and paid no attention to the minor matters within the camp.

Because he was well aware that the war between the Heavenly Court and the Demon Clan had come to a close with no further upheavals expected, he saw no reason to bother with those unruly veterans anymore.

"Imperial Lord!" a Star Lord called out softly, his face showing a complex expression as if he wanted to ask something.

Ziwei Imperial Lord then brought his attention back and sighed after looking at the surrounding Star Lords, "Speak your mind."

"Imperial Lord, has His Majesty taken that step?" asked the Star Lord, his face still showing a mix of emotions.

Ziwei Imperial Lord nodded and said, "It’s obvious. The Path has manifested itself. Even if external forces try to stop it, it’s only a matter of time."

"But, His Majesty’s Path..." he hesitated.

He knew that the Jade Emperor’s Path was very special, once it was completed, it would downgrade everyone else’s Path.

Ziwei Imperial Lord sighed, "Yes, His Majesty’s Path will provoke widespread anger."

It wasn’t just people from other forces of the Three Realms who might be upset, even within the Heavenly Court there were likely many who did not wish to see the Jade Emperor succeed, facing significant obstacles as one could imagine.

"Imperial Lord, what should we do? Are we really just going to give up on the Path?" The Star Lord was obviously becoming impatient.

He too was trapped in uncertainty, unsure whether to side with the Jade Emperor or stand against him, for at the core of his being he too aspired to reach the pinnacle of the Path, no less than anyone, even if the hope was slim.

Ziwei Imperial Lord harbored the same thoughts; he was close to the Path. Given enough time, he was confident he could step onto the Path of the Stars, allowing the stars to shine over the Three Realms.

But if the Jade Emperor succeeded, his own path would be blocked as well, relegating the Path of the Stars below others, an unbearable thought.

"We need to think this through carefully. There’s still time, and the future of the Three Realms will be tumultuous. Both His Majesty and those who want to stop him will spare no effort. A fierce struggle that sweeps across the Three Realms is now inevitable." Ziwei Star Lord looked up, and through the tent window, he seemed to see the storm of the era sweeping towards them.

Should he cut through the waves or drift with the tide?

That day, two uninvited guests arrived at the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons Mountain Range, leisurely strolling through the woods as if they were two mortals without any mana.

One dark and one blue figure were shuttling through the dense forest, startling the birds occasionally and causing them to cry out.

"It’s been many years since we parted," Mr. Mo sighed.

He was born in Luzhou in the North, but he never imagined that he would spend most of his life in Heavenly Court, which could only be described as fate playing tricks on people.

Now, looking at this familiar yet alien mountain range, he suddenly felt a sense of estrangement.

"This place has changed a lot since I first came here. I can hardly recognize it," Mr. Mo said, touching a large tree next to him.

Lin Fang, however, smiled and said, "From now on, you’ll have plenty of time to get reacquainted."

Mr. Mo naturally heard the comfort in his words and smiled, nodding his head.

The two men walked along the mountain road, and when they climbed halfway up the mountain, they saw peaks filled with a deathly aura not far away.

Those peaks were bare, without a hint of green, seemingly a land of absolute death. Birds, insects, and wild beasts instinctively stayed away from there.

Those were the mountains gradually heading toward death.

"Are those the peaks where Heavenly Court destroyed the leylines?" Mr. Mo asked with a sigh.

Apart from the destroyed leylines, he couldn’t think of any other method that could achieve this effect.

"That should be the case. Li Jing, in order to win the war, eventually resorted to such destructive measures," Lin Fang said softly.

He didn’t know who would bear the karma that resulted, but without a doubt, the destructive power of such methods was astounding.

Destruction is always much easier than construction. The leylines might be destroyed in just a few moves by the Mountain God and Earth God, but their restoration might be extremely difficult— perhaps consuming the lifetime of a divine spirit.

Lin Fang was unaware that the Mountain God and Earth God here were already doomed. As the mountains gradually died, they could clearly feel their divine duty declining. Maybe, when this mountain range completely perished, it would also be their end.

When their divine duties were tied to these mountain ranges, their fates were inevitably bound together.

Although the Mountain God and Earth God desperately wanted to make amends, the chaotic energy of the leylines was beyond what their meager mana could salvage.

Therefore, the Mountain God and Earth God here had already despaired. Although they repeatedly hoped for help from Heavenly Court, it was clear that Heavenly Court, in its current state of turmoil, could not spare the manpower to aid them.

Death seemed to be their only conclusion.

"If the energy of the leylines is destroyed, even the divine spirits here might be helpless. Could we really just watch these mountain ranges die?" Mr. Mo murmured to himself.

Lin Fang replied, "That would be a terrible thing. If this mountain range dies, then the chaos in the energy of the leylines would worsen, and it might soon spread to the surrounding mountain ranges. It’s quite possible that the entire Valley of Ten Thousand Demons Mountain Range could turn into a wasteland."

With that thought, he had already made up his mind to try something.

Although he was not a Mountain God or Earth God, since he had come to Luzhou in the North and touched the divine seal, he was very familiar with the energy of the leylines. With his experience in opening up the Demon Realm, he could proudly claim that there were few in the Three Realms stronger than him in managing the leylines.

Therefore, he wanted to try and see if he could revive these mountains.
