Chapter 61: Chapter 46 Gu Zhongtong

After reflecting on the bustling Mortal World, White Ape suddenly realized a problem. He had come to the Chechi Kingdom to find the descendant of Ancient Sword One, to pass on the sword manual and martial arts, but in this vast sea of people, a flux of passersby, where on earth was he to find the descendant of Ancient Sword One?

He opened his mouth wide, wanting to say something, but found that he seemingly had nothing to say. He just felt overwhelmed, completely confused as to what to do.

"Why don’t you know how to find the descendant of Ancient Sword One?" Lin Fang asked with a smile.

White Ape nodded somewhat awkwardly, almost failing to maintain his portrayal of an extraordinary swordsman.

"Don’t worry, I have a way." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Lin Fang led White Ape through the streets, and after several turns, they arrived in front of a dilapidated monk’s temple.

Upon reaching the entrance, they could hear the sound of a fight coming from inside. Walking in, they saw a spacious yet desolate courtyard where a group of beggars were attacking a child.

"Gu Zhongtong, you’ve got some nerve. You even ignore the tasks Lord Tiger assigned. You really seem tired of living!" the leading beggar, with a fierce appearance, spat at the fallen Gu Zhongtong and said viciously.

"Big brother, you don’t know, this kid has been daydreaming!" said a slim shorty with a large black mole on his face, ingratiatingly.

"Oh!"

"This kid has been claiming he’s the descendant of some martial arts expert, wanting to restore his ancestors’ glory. These past days, he’s been secretly learning from nearby martial arts schools."

Hearing this, the leading beggar laughed outright, "A mere peasant having pipe dreams! What status do you think you have, dreaming of becoming a martial arts expert? What a joke. As for your ancestor, it was probably your dead dad boasting."

On the ground, subjected to humiliation, Gu Zhongtong’s eyes turned blood-red when he heard this. He got up from the ground, grabbed the other’s neck, and said fiercely, "Don’t you dare insult my dad!"

However, since the others were greater in number and strength, Gu Zhongtong was quickly pulled away and was met with another brutal beating.

The punches and kicks that landed on him made his vision gradually blur, but the images of his long-deceased parents flickered in his mind.

He faintly remembered how proud his father had been when speaking of their ancestors’ great achievements. Sadly, due to unfaithful descendants, their current state had deteriorated markedly.

Suddenly, a roaring gust of wind swept through, and those who were attacking Gu Zhongtong were thrown to the ground, their cries echoing throughout the temple.

Turning to look, they saw a White-clad Swordsman holding a small tree branch. The gust had merely been the result of him waving the branch.

"Who are you to dare act against us? Do you not know that we are backed by Lord Tiger?" the leading beggar yelled, with a lack of confidence.

White Ape just stared coldly at him, his eyes seeming to shoot out swords, causing his entire body to shiver involuntarily. Time seemed incredibly prolonged at that moment; he felt as if his body had been sliced by swords.

The intense fear made him lose control of his bladder and bowels, immediately wetting the ground.

"Scram!" A cold voice rang in their ears. Yet at that moment, no other sound could have brought these people more relief than that.

Thus, a group of ragged beggars, in disarray, left the dilapidated temple, leaving only Gu Zhongtong behind, clutching his body, curled up on the cold ground.

White Ape glanced at Gu Zhongtong, aware that his injuries were severe, but regrettably, he was just a swordsman ape, with nothing in his possession but the sword in his hand.

Left with no choice, White Ape could only look towards Lin Fang, his eyes filled with pleading.

Lin Fang smiled, slowly walked up to Gu Zhongtong, and took out a bottle of medicine, which he had made from herbs picked during his journey through the mountains. It was more than sufficient to treat the current injuries of Gu Zhongtong.

The emerald green medicine was applied to Gu Zhongtong’s body, and a burst of coldness permeated his body, causing the young man, whose consciousness had already begun to blur, to come back to his senses.

He opened his eyes and saw White Ape and Lin Fang standing beside him, realized that it was these two who had saved him, and struggled to stand up to thank them.

White Ape quickly stepped forward and helped Gu Zhongtong up, saying somewhat awkwardly, "Be careful, you’re still injured."

Lin Fang looked at White Ape in surprise, not expecting this usually cold individual to have such a gentle side.

Gu Zhongtong looked at White Ape and seemed to sense the concern in his tone. The usually strong-willed young man couldn’t help but shed tears, but he quickly wiped them away. His mother had told him that a man’s tears are not easily shed.

Kneeling on the ground, he kowtowed three times to Lin Fang and White Ape, banging his forehead until it was all red, before saying, "Gu Zhongtong thanks the two heroes for saving his life!"

"Your name is Gu Zhongtong?" White Ape gently asked.

"Yes!" Gu Zhongtong answered somewhat puzzled, not knowing why the esteemed figure before him would ask such a question.

"Then come with me," White Ape said, then turned around and left, because he didn’t know how to speak to Gu Zhongtong, nor did he know what to do next.

Gu Zhongtong stood stunned in place, seemingly not yet reacting, and Lin Fang, seeing this, smiled and said, "Aren’t you coming? Do you want to lie down on the ground forever?"

"Oh, okay," Gu Zhongtong, still bewildered, quickly stood up and followed behind Lin Fang. Compared to the cold White Ape, he felt that this smiling Taoist priest was more likable.

White Ape led the group forward, while Gu Zhongtong curiously asked Lin Fang, "Elder, where are we going?"

"We are going for revenge, of course. We can’t just let ourselves be attacked without responding," Lin Fang said quietly.

He knew that White Ape was the typical ’cold on the outside, warm on the inside’ type. Although it appeared that he didn’t care much about Gu Zhongtong on the surface, in reality, he cared about this young man more than anyone else, and naturally, he planned to settle scores now.

White Ape walked swiftly, and soon they arrived in front of a martial arts school. The school occupied a vast area and at the entrance stood two majestic stone lions, with a plaque hanging in the center that read: Zhenwei Martial Arts School.

Speaking of Zhenwei Martial Arts School, it was very famous in Chechi Kingdom, being one of the top martial arts schools in the city. It had taught countless disciples and thus held significant influence. It was said that the city’s dark forces had grown with its support.

The infamous Lord Tiger, who was said to be a direct disciple of the Zhenwei Martial Arts School, was very powerful, capable of defeating several strong men single-handedly.

Therefore, when White Ape led Lin Fang and the others assertively to the front of Zhenwei Martial Arts School, it immediately sparked the gossiping spirit of the city’s residents. People flocked to both sides of the street, interestedly observing Lin Fang and his group.
