This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 97 - 82 Sightseeing
"What’s with the sudden laughter?" Lin Fang asked, somewhat puzzled, having not noticed what was happening below.
"Nothing, just thought of something interesting."
As the two conversed, they ascended to the second floor and saw the White Ape still seated in front of the relic.
In the eyes of the White Dragon, there seemed to be a dazzling sword, carrying the momentum of severing the sun, moon, and stars, rushing forth.
The sharp aura was so intense that even the White Dragon’s true dragon form felt threatened.
"Such terrifying Sword Qi!" exclaimed the White Dragon.
Although he hadn’t traveled long in the Three Realms, the memories from his bloodline granted him substantial insight; in an instant, he realized that the White Ape sitting cross-legged on the ground was a formidable Sword Immortal.
"White Ape, a seeker of the Supreme Sword Way," Lin Fang introduced succinctly.
The White Ape opened his eyes, and a sharp aura burst forth, dissipating only three inches away from his body.
This aura even contained a trace of causal force, which made Lin Fang inwardly shocked. White Ape’s strength was improving day by day; ever since he acquired the secret technique from Madam Witch, he seemed to have a new understanding of the Way of Causality.
"White Dragon, a wanderer of the Dragon Clan," the White Dragon said with a smile, introducing himself.
The White Ape nodded slightly, indicating he understood, and then closed his eyes again, immersing himself in the practice of cultivation.
"Don’t mind him, that’s just how he is, a cultivation fanatic," Lin Fang said somewhat awkwardly.
His own practice of cultivation was diligent, but when compared to White Ape, Lin Fang seemed particularly lazy.
The White Dragon, however, waved his hand indifferently and laughed, "Haha, that’s the true disposition. Why should I be offended? I suppose when Fellow Taoist White Ape takes action, it must be earth-shatteringly astounding."
He was somewhat looking forward to seeing White Ape in action; it was bound to be an interesting sight.
After introducing everyone, Lin Fang led the White Dragon to continue exploring his pagoda.
On the third floor, a Dragon Ball rested on the altar, radiating a dazzling light.
It was the sacrificed Mirage Dragon’s Dragon Ball, surrounded by white mist, forming one illusory world after another.
"This guy is really unlucky. Back then, he caused trouble by the Eastern Sea and encountered an exceptional Sword Immortal. With one strike, he killed the Mirage Dragon, and the Dragon Ball eventually ended up in the hands of Qionghua Sect, only to become the eye of an array."
"Dead, then alive, alive, then dead, this guy..."
The White Dragon said, shaking his head, his tone filled with schadenfreude. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"I’ve heard that your Dragon Clan is highly united, yet you seem rather indifferent about this Mirage Dragon?" Lin Fang asked with a smile.
"Mirage Dragons are quite unique within the Dragon Clan, lacking a physical body. Although they possess a Dragon Ball, they lack the most important reverse scale of the Dragon Clan, hence many of us do not consider them part of the Dragon Clan; their status is quite awkward."
"It’s only because their lineage has pledged allegiance to the Dragon Palace that they have the name of the Dragon Clan."
The White Dragon explained with a smile, and Lin Fang now understood the situation.
As a hermit of the Dragon Clan, the White Dragon did not agree with the decisions of the Dragon Palace and likely did not consider Mirage Dragons true members of the Dragon Clan.
After touring the Nine-layered Buddha Pagoda, Lin Fang took the White Dragon to the pagoda’s basement space, which was initially intended to be a prison. However, as time passed, the space transformed repeatedly, completely surpassing his expectations and seeming to evolve in a different direction.
As soon as he entered the space, the White Dragon felt a mysterious force descending upon his body, constantly eroding his mana.
"Huh!" He exclaimed in surprise, closely feeling the power that was enveloping him.
"What an interesting force!" the White Dragon exclaimed sincerely.
"You’re lucky to have gotten a wondrous stone; this power also originates from it," Lin Fang explained with a smile.
Raising his head, he saw a blazing sun suspended high above, its scorching breath reaching the White Dragon across the distance, subjecting him to an alarming temperature.
The White Dragon scrutinized the sun closely. He could sense a terrifying force contained within it, which seemed very much like the legendary Samadhi True Fire.
Just then, a dreadful sound erupted as a ferocious beast with a menacing appearance flew in from afar, bringing an ominous and murderous aura.
"What is this thing?" the White Dragon showed a look of astonishment.
After all, he had never seen such a fierce creature in his memory.
Composed of countless living insects, the massive body wrapped in a dreadful aura seemed to be the natural enemy of all creatures, instilling a deep-seated revulsion.
The Beast of Calamity lunged straight at Lin Fang and the White Dragon but was turned into an ice sculpture by a bitterly cold aura.
It was the White Dragon who had acted. Lin Fang was seeing the White Dragon make a move for the first time, that breath capable of freezing all things silently exploded with power that was truly startling.
Lin Fang was well aware of the strength of the Beast of Calamity, but even such a disaster beast had lost its ability to fight in an instant, which spoke volumes about the White Dragon’s understanding of the Way of Frigid Ice.
However, the Beast of Calamity was not an ordinary opponent. A crisp sound rang out, and cracks began to form on the ice sculpture.
The cracks grew larger and larger and soon shattered and dispersed in all directions, freeing the Beast of Calamity from its icy prison.
Yet its body was visibly shrinking, indicating that it had been significantly affected by the attack.
Fear flickered in the slaying eyes of the Beast of Calamity, while Lin Fang smiled faintly, his thoughts prompting the sun to emit fearsome flames that enveloped the beast in an instant.
This time, the Beast of Calamity truly feared, as the dreadful flames kept scorching its body, causing its once massive form to slowly dwindle.
Meanwhile, the enigmatic forces around surged violently. The Beast of Calamity could feel its power swiftly ebbing away, so it made the wise choice to flee.
Watching the Beast of Calamity turn tail and run, Lin Fang and the White Dragon showed no intention of pursuing it.
"Truly an interesting creature. Made up of countless individuals, yet ultimately a single consciousness was born," the White Dragon remarked with emotion.
He felt that today was full of surprises, making it very interesting, and he felt even more convinced that following Lin Fang had been the right decision.
"Let’s go and see what I’ve gained this time," Lin Fang said with a smile, leading the White Dragon to another area.
Soon, a not-so-small lake appeared before them, a strong demon Qi rushing towards them.
"Such a familiar aura. If I’m not mistaken, this should be a carp that has become a spirit," the White Dragon said with a smile.
"This fellow has an impressive origin. He escaped from the fish pond on Mount Luojia in the Southern Seas of Guanyin Bodhisattva, causing me to offend the Buddhist Sect and consequently live a life of hiding," Lin Fang said softly, pointing to a spot in the lake with a chuckle.
Although the Great Inspirational King was doing his utmost to hide his form, as the master of this space, Lin Fang easily spotted him.
