Chapter 46: Chapter 46

I move my hand to put away the file and get another but accidentally knocked over the coffee, spilling the damn contents on the desk and some files. Spills even made it to my pants. "Dammit!" I cursed out in sheer annoyance. That lady is a problem until the end. I had forgotten to tell her to take her damn coffee along with her! Now look what she did to this file. It would have been completely ruined if it is wasn’t hardback. Well it is unmanageable.

I throw them at Ronnie, asking him to reprint them. He would have to take on being my secretary as well until I personally assign a new one.

"I am leaving. Do you need anything else?" Ronnie asks as he is about to leave.

"No." He was about going out when I stopped him. "Did she call you again?"

"Who?" He questions but soon knows who I’m talking about. "Oh right! That lady. No she didn’t."

"Good. You can go." That is a relief. I hope she doesn’t.

I lost track of time as I kept working. I knew it was getting late. But I still kept on working on the files and observing the quarterly reports on my computer. The company is doing great as always. But it is not enough success.

I want Crimson Group to be a global business empire way above any other. The times are changing and I have to change with it. Uncle built the company but threw it aside as non important. It was the first thing I handled when I took over. There were a lot of messes that needed fixing because uncle neglected it and only focused on the illegal businesses. The illegal business are so highly lucrative and it is excellent to supplement it with a successful legal business which is why I invested in some big businesses and acquired a lot of others. I have got almost all businesses in my hands except for the entertainment and aviation industry, and I am planning on acquiring those in the next two years.

There is nowhere I have to hurry to be or anyone I have to hurry to meet. Wait,

there is Richelle, uncle Bryan and those mother fuckers in that basement. The mother fuckers deserve my attention out of all. Richelle is still the same at the hospital. Almost non responsive. I still get explosively mad when I think of her and remember why she is like that. So I will be going to my new Lakeview mansion where the bastards are being held and tortured tonight. As for uncle Bryan, I have no intention of seeing him now, so I will be missing my dutiful checkup visit on him. My phone is ringing. Speak of the devil and he doth appear.

"You punk! Why haven’t you visited? Are you avoiding your old man?" He leaves me no chance to speak before he restarts.

"Be mad all you want. But I cannot, and will not apologize for acting in your best interest."

"I am not mad uncle." I respond calmly. "You did act in my best interest. It’s just that you did it in a thoughtless way." I did not put stupid even though I wanted to use that to address him drugging me all because he wants a grandnephew. But he would get riled up and say I’m calling him stupid. Thoughtless sounds better than stupid right?

"You are calling me thoughtless?" There. He never fails to meet my expectations. My lips curl into a soundless laugh at his childish actions "Fine. I am thoughtless. But you cannot deny that it was all for you. To secure your power." I cannot say that he is not right. An heir is indeed necessary for me. But my position cannot be more secured than it already is. "Why’d you call? You should hang up if you’ve got nothing more to say."

"So rude. No wonder it is difficult for women to like you."

"I don’t have problem with women, uncle."

He snorts. "I find that hard to believe. Anyway, the other reason I called is because Hemaz is proposing a marriage alliance." That sentence made me pause my pen and look up as if his face is in front of me.

"Hemaz? Wayne Hemaz?" He is the vice president in charge of Wayne Corporation even though the ownership belongs to Crimson Group. I had acquired it last year and allowed him to keep the name and still be in charge of leadership as the vice president. "Yes. His daughter, Cassandra is of age and a very nice girl. There is nothing wrong with her as far as I am concerned. She would make a great wife for you."

Cassandra Hemaz. I fired her the very first day she became my secretary. Now her father is trying to set her up with me? Ridiculous.

Uncle barks. "Are you even listening to me, Calyx? I am very serious about this. You will be getting married to her and having an heir. I don’t care if you’re gay or anti-marraige."

His words strike up disgust in me. I warn him, "Don’t refer to me as gay because I am not."

"No you misunderstand. I couldn’t care less even if you’re gay as long as you do what I am telling you."

"Doing that is up to me. Leave me to it."

"You cannot understand my worries because you are not in my position. You don’t seem to understand that your position is at stake because you are the only true heir to our clan. Should any harm come to you, it will be over for our name. And that is why I’m doing all I can. Speaking of that, I keep wondering how that nameless bastard is doing. I heard he is now running a nightclub."

"Threatening me with Sam?" I scoff. "That threat has long been overdone don’t you think?" I have a fraternal twin brother. His name is Sam. The biology of our conception is a very funny and unusual story. It is so because we have different paternity even though we stayed in the same womb.
