Timeless Assassin
Chapter 1154: Sheer Disbelief
(Outside Planet Satoru, Leo’s POV)
Kaelith frowned slightly hearing Leo’s words, as although he understood there was hidden meaning behind them, he did not immediately understand the accusation itself.
For several moments, the Eternal Sovereign simply stared toward Leo silently before eventually gesturing for him to continue speaking further.
However, Leo merely smirked.
"Nope," Leo replied casually, as he shook his head while glancing briefly toward Planet Satoru below.
"I’m not stupid enough to explain everything while standing this close to the planet. First, we move to a battlefield of my choosing.
And only then do you get the answers you want...."
Leo proposed, as Kaelith’s expression darkened slightly hearing that demand.
However after several moments of silence, he eventually nodded in agreement.
As almost instantly afterward, the entire group relocated several thousand kilometers farther away from Planet Satoru through the fourth dimension, as Leo continuously expanded the distance between them until he finally felt satisfied that Kaelith’s attacks could no longer directly affect the planet below.
As only then did Leo finally stop moving, and start talking.
"The Moonshine Flowers were supplied to us by your son," Leo declared calmly, as his eyes remained locked onto Kaelith while he spoke.
"Raymond himself handed them over to the Cult’s Dragon, Aegon Veyr, in exchange for learning several of the Cult’s secrets."
The moment those words left Leo’s mouth, Kaelith’s eyes visibly constricted slightly, however Leo merely continued speaking without pause.
"Unfortunately for him though, he never got the opportunity to reclaim the flowers afterward, because we killed him on The Pit," Leo said, as a grin slowly spread across his face afterward.
"And personally speaking, I was the one who did it."
He added, knowing full well that Kaelith would lose his cool hearing those words.
*Huff*
*Puff*
Almost instantly, rage began to bubble beneath Kaelith’s calm exterior, as faint aura distortions spread through the surrounding void of space.
Yet Leo showed no concern whatsoever.
"Now whether Raymond acted independently or under your orders remains unclear," Leo continued casually, as his grin widened further afterward.
"But regardless of intent, the reality remains the same. Your own son was the one who supplied the Cult with the ingredients necessary to create Demi Gods."
Beside Kaelith, Ru Vassa quietly glanced toward him afterward, as although she understood immediately that this was not the right moment to question him publicly regarding Raymond, her mind had already begun calculating the value of this information.
Because if Kaelith truly wished to suppress this truth from spreading toward the remaining Great Clans, then naturally, compensation would be necessary.
’At minimum, I’ll extort one or two Moonshine Flowers from him privately for keeping this matter quiet...’
Ru Vassa thought internally, as the possibility of cultivating additional Demi Gods for the Ru Clan immediately improved her mood significantly.
However unlike her, Kaelith still remained unsatisfied.
"But that still doesn’t explain how the Cult obtained water from Planet Granada," Kaelith muttered coldly afterward, as his eyes narrowed slightly.
"Without that ingredient, the potion itself should still have remained incomplete."
Leo shrugged casually hearing that question.
"Explaining that was never a part of our original agreement," Leo replied calmly, as he spread his arms slightly afterward.
"However, if you truly wish to learn the answer, then how about you let me chop off one of your limbs first in exchange?
If you let me do that.... I’ll give you the honest answer.
So.... How about it?"
Leo asked, as the moment those words left Leo’s mouth, Kaelith’s expression immediately changed while his eyes sharpened violently.
As almost instantly, the battle began.
*BOOOOM*
Without wasting another word, both Kaelith and Ru Vassa attacked Leo simultaneously while divine essence erupted outward across the battlefield like a storm powerful enough to distort the surrounding void.
Ru Vassa moved first.
"[Coiled Serpent]," Ru Vassa muttered coldly, as invisible chains of divine essence spread outward instantly while attempting to completely restrict Leo’s movement and lock him into place.
At the exact same moment, Kaelith attacked as well.
"[Crownfall]," Kaelith declared calmly, as a terrifying divine strike descended directly toward Leo’s neck with enough force to cleave a planet in half effortlessly.
And for one brief instant, it genuinely appeared as though Ru Vassa’s restraint had succeeded, while Kaelith’s strike was on track to remove Leo’s head from his shoulder before the battle even properly began.
However, at that very moment—
*FLASH*
Leo suddenly vanished.
’What?’
Ru Vassa’s eyes widened instantly, as for the first time since becoming a God, she completely failed to track an opponent’s movement.
However, before she could even process what happened, Leo had already appeared directly behind her through instantaneous spatial movement, as shock immediately flooded across her face.
’Seconds Walk? But he’s still a Demi God? How is that even possible?’
She wondered, as almost instinctively, she activated the strongest defensive spell in her arsenal to stay alive.
"[Unbreakable Defense]!"
She muttered, however, to her absolute horror, the spell failed.
*Crrshhhh*
For the very first time in her life, Ru Vassa completely failed to conjure divine essence when she needed it most, as suddenly the flow of divine essence throughout her body became violently disrupted against her own will.
And at that exact moment, far behind Leo, Dumpy grinned in the background.
"I told you, know your role, and shut your mouth! You weakling side character!" Dumpy croaked softly, as his massive golden eyes glowed faintly while corrosive fumes endlessly leaked from his gigantic body. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Then—
*FLASH*
[The Boss’s Execution]
Leo’s Origin Dagger sliced cleanly through Ru Vassa’s neck in one horrifyingly smooth motion, as from start to finish, she never even understood what happened.
Because the instant Dumpy disrupted the flow of her spell, Leo immediately switched the ordinary dagger in his hand with the Origin Dagger through spatial transfer before executing the strike itself.
Everything happened too quickly.
Too perfectly.
Too suddenly.
And before Ru Vassa even realized her life had truly become endangered in this battle, she had already lost.
*Decapitation*
The blade cut directly through the exact same wound Mauriss previously created long ago, as Leo forced the Origin Dagger deeper through the damaged flesh and completed what Mauriss originally failed to finish.
*Spin*
*Spurt*
Her severed neck desperately attempted regenerating afterward while divine essence surged wildly toward the wound, however nothing happened because Origin wounds simply did not heal.
And only now, while her consciousness slowly faded into darkness, did true disbelief finally consume Ru Vassa completely.
’This... can’t be real...’
She wondered weakly.
’Is this an illusion...?’
’A dream...?’
She wondered, as even until the final moments of her existence, Ru Vassa never truly understood how much danger she was actually standing in.
Or how terrifying her opponent really was, as by the time realization finally arrived, it was already far too late.
