After Aiysha entered, Cassien followed suit quickly after.

He made sure to close the doors behind him as the voices inside the banquet hall grew louder by the second, just as she stepped in.

Cassien looked around him, spotting plenty of individuals dressed in neat suits and luxurious gowns to match their noble status.

He himself was also wearing a fine, tight navy blue attire.

There were two long white tables in the middle, with plates of food placed neatly on every section, almost like a buffet.

Cassien looked around once more, noticing almost everyone huddled into their own little groups.

The ones around his age, or still in the academy, were busy being introduced to newcomers.

Fathers were introducing their sons to gorgeous and high-standing girls, while mothers chatted away with old friends.

Then there was Cassien, walking forward while attempting to spot his father and little sister.

"Stop right there." A guard suddenly approached from behind him. "Just who are you supposed to be?"

Cassien turned around, but before he could answer, a familiar girlish voice interrupted.

"Hey, you!" She called out lightly. "That’s my older brother. He’s with my father and me."

The guard immediately bowed. "I sincerely apologize to both of you."

Then, he straightened himself. "I shall return to guarding now."

After the knight walked back to his position, Alexandria looked up at Cassien with a smile.

"Sure took you a long time," she said. "Just where have you been?"

Before he could answer, a small boy and a girl came running over and tapped her on the shoulder.

It was her ’elementary friend group,’ and they looked insanely excited to see her.

But the moment their eyes landed on Cassien, their expressions lit up.

"Mister, aren’t you the man who saved us from that villain?" The little boy’s voice was practically glowing. "I truly—"

Cassien crouched down and placed a finger over his lips.

"Shhhh..." he sighed. "Don’t tell anyone."

The boy nodded proudly.

Then the three of them ran off together.

"See you around, big brother!"

Cassien waved them off.

’Now, where’s father?’

As soon as he spotted Chris, the Royal Duke of the entire continent cleared his throat loudly.

"Ehemm."

The room gradually fell silent.

"First of all, I want to say how truly grateful I am for all of you showing up tonight. As you all know, the academy begins tomorrow, meaning a new generation of young nobles will begin growing and forming valuable connections. Before everyone begins feasting, I would like to introduce my daughter to all of you."

A blonde girl slowly walked forward.

Her golden hair and blue eyes immediately captured everyone’s attention. The white dress she wore complemented her figure so perfectly that nearly every man in the room seemed frozen in awe.

While murmurs of confusion spread through the crowd, Cassien simply smiled.

’And here comes the protagonist’s love interest.’

"Greetings, everyone," she began elegantly. "As many of you already know, I, too, will be enrolling in the academy starting tomorrow. I hope those of you attending alongside me can work together so that we may collectively grow and achieve greater standings."

She raised her chin proudly.

"Together, we shall defeat the Demon Lord!"

Soft applause slowly filled the room before evolving into loud cheers.

"Now then... enjoy yourselves!" The noble king announced.

As everyone began approaching the food, Cassien was just about to do the same when a voice suddenly called his name from behind.

"Cassien."

He turned, only to spot The Purple Darkness herself.

"Well, hello there, Victoria," he bowed slightly. "Lovely purple dress you have on. The sparkling glitter is quite attractive."

Victoria froze.

’He actually noticed.’

’It took me five whole hours to prepare all this.’

Then her expression shifted.

’Wait, I’m getting off track.’

She stepped closer toward him. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"How did you know my true name back there?"

Cassien smiled. "My dream is to become a Vanguard. Of course, I know the names of everyone involved there."

Victoria sighed, though another thought suddenly crossed her mind.

He hadn’t looked at her once.

"Just what are you staring at?"

Cassien finally met her gaze.

"Your chest."

Her face instantly turned red.

Before she could respond, another voice casually entered the conversation.

"I honestly can’t blame you!"

Aiysha stumbled in beside them.

"Aren’t they huge?! What even are those? G-cup?!" She glanced down at herself before wrapping an arm around Victoria. "If only mine were that big."

Victoria stared at her in disbelief.

"How on earth are you drunk already, Aiysha? The party just started."

Aiysha lazily waved her hand.

"And who exactly is this guy? Your boyfriend?"

Victoria somehow turned even redder.

Cassien stepped forward slightly.

"Sorry if I haven’t introduced myself properly yet. Do you not remember seeing me on the stairwell outside?" he asked.

Aiysha studied his face for a moment.

"Not that I can remember."

Cassien blinked.

’I see, not even my own fiancée remembers my face from elementary school.’

’On the bright side, I didn’t realize the Moon family’s daughter was this careless.’

Just as he was focused on his thoughts, someone suddenly stepped into the picture.

A hand casually wrapped itself around Victoria’s shoulder.

"Hey, babe, how’s it going?" the man asked smugly. "Long time no see."

Victoria immediately lifted his hand off her.

"Don’t call me that. And don’t touch me."

His smile darkened.

"Are you insane?" He suddenly gripped her shoulder tightly. "You’re my fiancée, remember? You do as I say."

Snap!

Cassien immediately removed the man’s hand from her shoulder.

Victoria looked like she wanted to stop him, but Cassien paid her no mind.

"The lady clearly told you to stop," he said calmly. "Let her go."

The man chuckled before leaning his forehead directly against Cassien’s.

"And who exactly are you supposed to be?" he sneered. "Her knight in shining armor?"

Cassien grinned.

"And what about you, James Sparrow?" he asked. "Trying your hand at being some kind of villain?"

James’ eyes narrowed immediately.

"You have a death wish, boy?" he muttered coldly. "Don’t say my name with such a foul tongue."

Cassien remained completely calm.

"Why don’t we settle this outside then?"

James smirked. "Sure, why no—"

"Oh, Jameson!"

A group of girls suddenly approached from behind him.

"Come with us! We need you to rate each of our dresses!"

James clicked his tongue before leaning close to Cassien’s ear.

"Consider yourself lucky this time, rat bastard."

His voice lowered.

"I’ll kill you the next time we meet."

Then he turned around and walked off with the girls surrounding him.

A smile slowly crept onto Cassien’s lips.

’But you couldn’t be more wrong, James.’

The two girls beside him returned into view.

’Because you’re merely a third-rate villain fated to die.’

Then suddenly, text appeared before his eyes.

And what he saw left him speechless.
