Transmigrated As The Bastard Side-Character
Chapter 51: [A Past Life] 2
[Cassien’s Pov]
Soon after, they couldn’t come up with proper evidence other than heavy screaming and accusations, so they had to simply wait while I went on trial. No lawyer offered me assistance, I didn’t even know how to register a lawyer to my case yet.
I was quite the young boy back then.
They didn’t even attach an ankle bracelet around my leg to track my location.
I was a little kid... so what was the worst that could really happen?
"Everything."
My mother, who was in her late 30s at the time, kicked me out of the house.
Her husband died young, so she brought a new guy home almost every night. I had to survive off nothing but typical rations.
Then she would act pleasing toward the rich general public, as if it mattered more than her own single child, me. Alex Barusa.
During that same day I was blamed, I slept in an alley not many people usually passed by.
Who am I kidding, no one ever came there. As a little kid, I ran away from our little apartment just to breathe sometimes, and even smoke a blunt.
The two don’t necessarily match, I mean who goes outside to take a breath of fresh air then moves on to a small cigarette? Nonetheless, I was simply trying to relax myself.
I had a knife in my hand.
’Why would I continue suffering when I could just die now?’ I thought, pointing the tip of the knife directly at my neck.
"He’s the one who pushed her! She embarrassed him in front of everyone! Telling them she didn’t want to get with Alessio because she had feelings for another guy!" I screamed pathetically back then, it wasn’t like anyone was going to hear me either way.
Until this day, I still wonder what boy she had feelings for. Now that she’s dead, it didn’t matter.
They pinned the blame on me, Alessio too frightened to even confess anything himself. At one point, my classmates nearly gaslit me into thinking it really was all my fault.
Anyways, back to where I was... ah yes, I breathed calmly. Almost too calm considering the scenario I was put in.
I still shook slightly, but my life had already bled out beneath me.
I just couldn’t handle it.
And that was when they walked in.
The three main guys who accused me of that murder, influenced the class to do the same.
Alessio and his two goons.
But the difference was the simple fact that they were laughing.
"Hahah! No way they fell for it!"
"That bitch could die for all I care! I just wanted to fuck her and get it over with either way!"
"Yeah, who gives a fuck! So many hoes are out there in the world just like her!"
While stepping forward, they took out their vapes and began smoking consecutively.
Strawberry flavor, to be exact.
I began to shake irritably, hiding behind a large trash can so they couldn’t see me or my shadow.
Then I awkwardly smiled as an idea rushed through my mind.
"What was my idea? To murder all three of them and toss their bodies in the trash pf course."
Getting up with the metal knife in my hand felt too natural. They laughed in my face at first, seeing me in tears.
Then, when I started rushing them, I just felt the need to slice their heads clean off.
That was when I became a serial killer.
Afterward, I tossed their bodies into the trash, which took me a while. After hearing about those three boys’ deaths, the case was called off because my classmates admitted what actually happened since they couldn’t threaten them any longer.
My mom then died a day after, from alcohol poisoning.
I was mad. Not because she died, but because I wasn’t the one who got to do it. At the time, I wanted to stab her so many consecutive times you would’ve seen me in a worse light than Jack the Reaper himself.
But there I was, surviving through and through. The government just began paying my bills ever since, so I stayed home and stuck to doing nothing more.
That was the reality of how I came to the conclusion of being lazy.
Because if I’m lazy, I wouldn’t feel the urge to murder anyone either.
That was the truth. My earlier talk was nothing but a lie.
Don’t take me for an edgelord, because that wasn’t what I was. I was something worse, far worse.

Cassien slowly lifted his dagger from his side, shifting it directly underneath Sophia’s neck.
"And ever since then, I’ve never felt a hint of condolence toward the ones I murder."
Shkkk!
He sliced Sophia’s head clean off, blood pouring across the ground.
Her head rolled around creepily, the eyes dimming to a color Cassien knew far too much about.

[Congratulations On Your Purge Murder!]
→ +10 Points On Killing [Sophia Desend].
→ +10 Points On Killing During A Purge.

Cassien didn’t smile; he kept that serious, calm expression he had since the start of explaining his own past.
"Teleport me back now, I don’t need more kills."
[Are you sure? But there are still so many people alive on this island, I’m sure you’d love to murder more. Plus, you’ve already guaranteed yourself a spot back, all you need to do is kill more and gain more points.]
Cassien sighed, "Not for today, maybe the next one."
[It sucks that one of the top expected candidates this time around doesn’t want to go on a killing spree and end this game fast... but I guess I can’t blame you. Anyways, congrats on your kill.]
"Thank you," Cassien whispered, lifting his hair back.
[Teleporting...]
His body felt wrapped in that same white light as before until he spawned back to where he was earlier.
[Teleportation Complete!]
Cassien then looked at his watch, ’There’s still time, only 11:30 PM.’
...
He walked back into his dormitory room, then took a shower, ate, and dressed for bed.
Up until he decided to seek some more rewards with the points he gained from killing Sophia.
"Send me to the Transmigration Games Shop."
[As You Wish ;)]
