Chapter 173: New skill: Thought strike.

Because he was grumpy, Sienna decided to spice up the game. For round two, she tossed the ball higher, aiming for the roof. Elias leaped, claws scraping tiles and he caught it mid-air. His six tails flew behind him, displaying his magnificence, swishing like banners before he landed flawlessly.

Sienna whistled. "See? You are amazing. I told you fetch would show off your talents."

He handed the ball with a glare. "You are not the only one enjoying this."

"You are actually enjoying it as well. Just let go of the thoughts in your mind telling you to put your dignity first." She said honestly.

Round three was chaos. Sienna decided to spice things up by throwing the ball into the newly dug pond near Geo’s cottage. Elias stared in the distance, his expression murderous. "Sienna."

"It’s part of the challenge!" she insisted. "Variety is the spice of life. Think of it like the food we eat everyday. Today its beef, tomorrow its chicken."

Elias closed his eyes, muttering something about regretting the choice that led him where he was. Then, with the resignation of a martyr, he moved by leaps and finally stepped into the pond. Water splashed everywhere, fish darted in panic, and Sienna laughed so hard she nearly fell over.

When he emerged from the pond, Geo was holding out a small towel to him, smug smile on his face. "Nice night to go for a swim."

Elias snorted, slapped the towel aside and walked back to the courtyard, ball clenched in hand. He couldn’t help thinking that his dignity had been drowned somewhere among the lily pads.

"Happy?" he growled.

Sienna wiped tears from her eyes. "Ecstatic." It was just in time to hear the notification from the system.

She squealed. Thought strike!! This was the skill Elias used to shatter her drones twice. With this skill, she was now confident in her ability to protect herself and the children. Once she gained the one to manipulate other people’s thoughts or control them, she would be untouchable.

"Well?" He shook her hard. "You are squealing in joy, so I assume that something good has come out of my humiliation."

Sienna nodded. "It has worked. Let’s go to the bedroom, I will show you." She wanted to walk, but he was too eager. He lifted her and set off, leaping into the house through a window. Despite her scream, he took her all the way to their bedroom, and kicked the door shut.

"Someone’s eager." Grandma Byra muttered. She clapped her hands. "Kids, get in bed."

Meanwhile in the bedroom, Sienna was already trying to use her thought strike. She was looking intensely at an almost perfume bottle. "Break," she muttered.

At first, nothing happened.

Just when Elias was about to comment on her failure, he felt a change in her aura, and the bottle exploded.

Sienna screamed in joy, hopping from side to side. "I did it. I did it."

While she celebrated, Elias looked at her the way someone would look at an alien. He grabbed her by the shoulders, turned her from side to side, and then stuck his nose in her hair, sniffing it.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

He answered in a soft voice, "I have no idea. This is very confusing...I need to sit down. I can believe that your soul was swapped, but it will take me a while to believe this. Mental strength is biology Sienna. It doesn’t spring out of throwing balls in the air! This is crazy!"

She pushed him to the bed and summoned the large box with her rewards. Elias rubbed his eyes, and blinked. This was not mental strength, it was something else! What exactly was going on with his wife?

Sienna opened the box. First, she revealed the toys. "An echo bone. A chew toy that repeats whatever sound you make into a chorus of echoes."

She tossed it on the bed, pulling another toy. "Rainbow phoenix feather rope." There was no explanation about what it did.

While she didn’t care for it, Elias grabbed it eagerly.

"Gravity defying frisbee." She read, "Flies in unpredictable arcs, sometimes straight into the orbit before returning later." Sienna frowned. This did not sound like a fun toy. Ali would not have the patience to wait around all day for frisbee to return. She had already broken the pet food dispenser because it wasted her chewing time.

She pulled out the next package, which looked like something inflatable. "Intergalactic tunnel. You can crawl through it like you are racing across the galaxy."

"What is this stuff?"

Sienna paused, looked back at him and sighed. "I can’t explain it the same way I can’t explain my mental strength."

He looked at her thoughtfully, but his face remained unreadable. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking. What mattered the most was that he trust her.

After checking the toys, she checked the healthy foods which were meant for her. "Celery sticks, rice cakes and vinegar." She pushed them aside, and reached for the last rewards. "More seeds. Dragonfruit that sharpens focus, blueberries that soothe tempers, and lemons."

Unlike the dragon fruit and blueberry seed packets which came with an explanation on their benefits, the lemon seed packet had just a picture of a yellow lemon and the word citrus. Sienna couldn’t help frowning. "What does it do?"

The packet was snatched from her hand. "Seeds? Are these these similar to the giant fruits you grow?"

She nodded. Hiding it from him was useless.

His eyes became slightly rounder, his hand tightened on the packet. The tomatoes she grew had been tested in the lab and found to have a good effect on beast men who were on the brink of a mental break. The strawberries enhanced tasting senses and the cabbages were simply nutritious. What surprise would these new seeds bring him?

The packet was snatched from him abruptly. "Don’t even dream of stealing my seeds Elias. And don’t think I haven’t noticed that half of my strawberries vanish after each harvest. You better start paying me for them as soon as that wine starts flying off the shelves."

Elias looked at her, stone faced. "What strawberries? What wine?"
