Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 977 - 407: Battle of the Death Ship_3
"Now tell your damn undead underlings to stand down!"
As he spoke, his five fingers clenched, and pink mist and power were forced into the skull.
"Oh, of course." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"You damn bastards didn’t hear me? Stop! Stop whatever you’re doing right now!"
As his words fell, the undead instantly fell silent and turned toward the direction of the voice.
"The captain’s been caught?"
"The invincible admiral has fallen?"
At this moment, another skeleton spoke up; judging from its outfit, it seemed to be the Undead Ship Captain’s first mate.
"Brothers, keep going!"
As he spoke, a pirate hat somehow appeared in his hand, and he plopped it onto his own skull.
"Hahaha, I’m the new captain now! Golden Eye Tydak will command the invincible ghost fleet!"
"Oh oh oh oh! Charge!"
With the birth of the new captain, all the undead who had stopped resumed roaring and prepared to attack.
Suddenly the sea parted, and Pororo’s figure burst up out of the water. Blue‑gray lightning coiled around his arm, and the instant he broke the surface, he brought it down.
It happened to slam down right beside this new captain; a giant hand directly grabbed the skeleton’s skull, then suddenly squeezed, wild arcs of lightning crackling all over.
When the clenched hand opened, it was full of powdered bone and a single golden fake eye.
"Hahaha, damn traitor! That must’ve hurt like hell. Now everyone, stop for me!"
The captain’s head was held high in Alka’s hand.
With the captain’s furious roar, a huge number of skeletons halted their attacks.
This time, no new captain was born.
"Hahaha, my lord, are you satisfied now?"
The skull in Alka’s grip asked, with a hint of obsequious flattery in its voice.
Right now Alka was standing on the ghost flagship, and as his body shone with brilliant light, the Crystal Dragon descended from the sky, incidentally knocking the skeletons nearby off the ship.
With a sweep of its claw, the dragon brushed the eyesore skeletons away as well.
"Damn pile of bones."
Jason jumped down from the dragon’s back.
And the ship that the first mate had popped out from beside the Sound of Dawn had already been seized by Pororo.
A flash of blue radiance, and Chadite’s figure appeared on the Sound of Dawn.
The Undead Ship that she had wrecked now had only its inverted bow and stern not yet fully sunk.
The numerous undead and skeletons from that ship were swimming toward the other two Undead Ships.
Alka looked at the skull in his hand. "Now tell me, why did you attack us?"
"Haha, just a joke, I was just joking, that’s all."
"A joke?" Alka frowned, his hand slowly tightening.
"Aiya ya ya ya, I thought you were an easy mark. You’re living, I’m undead! What’s wrong with me hitting you?"
The skull, being squeezed and yelping, hurriedly shouted.
"Is there an Island in this fog?"
Alka looked at the skull and asked.
"Uh..." The skull started to speak, then stopped.
"Don’t bother trying to lie. I can see through it." Alka narrowed his eyes slightly.
The skull gave a little shake. "That’s right, my lord, there really is an Island here. We call it Wraith Island."
Alka hefted the skull, examining it closely. Then he glanced around at the undead nearby who’d all stopped and were staring at him.
After a moment’s thought, he walked over, still holding the head, to stand beside a skeleton Sailor.
This skeleton had a headscarf tied on, and you could see there was a gold tooth in its bared jaw.
"Don’t tell me your name is Golden Tooth?" Looking at that shiny tooth, Alka couldn’t help asking.
The skeleton Sailor nodded repeatedly. "My lord is so clever, you even know that.
This gold tooth of mine is—"
Before he could finish, Alka slapped him across the back of the skull.
He shut up at once, head trembling as he lowered it.
Looking at this undead, Alka frowned and rapped him on the back of the head.
"Tss~" The skeleton yelped in pain, but forced himself to endure it.
But his gold tooth happened to fall out, and he hurriedly crouched to pick it up.
These undead were way too intelligent.
Is that how normal undead behave?
This was just an ordinary skeleton, the lowest Level cannon‑fodder in the undead ranks, the least remarkable type.
Yet these skeletons, weak as they were, could speak fluently and even had perfectly normal emotions, as if they’d never died at all.
Seeing this, Alka once more raised the skull in his hand.
"Tell me about you lot. You’re nothing like what normal skeletons should be.
And your souls are way too intact. Fine, your soul being intact as captain I can accept, but not a single one of your Sailors has a damaged soul. You’re like you’re still alive."
Hearing this, the Soul Fire burning inside the Undead Ship Captain’s skull flickered violently twice. He was clearly shocked that Alka had so easily seen through their secret.
"We’re not normal undead. We are... immortals."
"Immortals? The hell is that?" Alka frowned. He’d never heard of such a Race.
"First, get the ship alongside for me."
As Alka’s words fell, the Sailors didn’t even need the captain to give the order; they immediately moved, steering the Undead Ship in alongside the Sound of Dawn.
Alka, still holding the captain’s head, returned to the deck.
"My lord, I don’t know either. It’s not like I chose to become like this."
"Oh? Then how did you end up this way?"
"When I died and opened my eyes again, I was already like this.
I don’t know why either. If you really want to know, you can go ashore and ask.
I truly don’t know. Let me go, please."
