"Y-You..."

Bai Qianli was pinned under Chen Xuan’s foot. Fear, humiliation, and indignation filled his heart. He trembled violently, hot tears streaming down his face.

’This is too humiliating!’

’This is just too humiliating!’

He finally understood how Lu Yao must have felt back then.

’This Chen Xuan definitely hid his true strength!’

’He hid his strength!’

If he had known, he never would have come looking for trouble with Chen Xuan. He would have stayed as far away as possible.

"Not talking?"

Chen Xuan’s expression was indifferent. Without any hesitation, he stomped his other foot down on Bai Qianli’s arm. Dark Energy erupted, followed by a series of CRACKLES as the man’s entire arm rapidly shattered.

Shards of pale white bone pierced through the flesh and blood.

"AHHHHHH!"

Bai Qianli let out a bloodcurdling scream like a pig being slaughtered. His whole body writhed violently, squirming like a maggot as he struggled desperately, but he couldn’t break free.

"I’ll talk! I’ll talk..."

Bai Qianli completely broke down, crying out in agony.

"That’s more like it."

Chen Xuan’s tone was calm. "Tell your father to listen up. Also, I don’t believe we’ve ever met, have we? Why did you want to ’take care of me’ right off the bat? I’m quite curious about that."

...

「Elsewhere.」

Bai Ling’Er rowed the black-canopied boat, finally reaching the shore after some effort.

Her petite figure leaped from the boat and landed on the bank. She hummed a light, cheerful tune as she walked into the distance.

’Stupid brother, leaving without me. Did he think I couldn’t just sneak over by myself? Maybe I’ll even run into Chen Xuan. And when I do, hehe...’

A wide smile spread across her face.

She looked like she could fly with joy, skipping and hopping as she wandered off.

But she suddenly stopped again, another idea popping into her head.

’What if... I go to Chen Xuan’s place right now and wait for him? He has to go back eventually, right? Yes, as soon as he gets back, I’ll take him down in three moves and drag him away...’

The young woman’s eyes lit up.

’Perfect!’

’That’s what I’ll do!’

’That’s the only way to catch him completely by surprise.’

Just as Bai Ling’Er got her bearings and started skipping down an alley, she suddenly detected the faint, foul stench of blood.

’Was there a fight?’

She stopped again, her eyes filled with suspicion. Her long eyelashes fluttered as she scanned her surroundings.

Suddenly, she came to the entrance of an alley.

Deep in the alley, a figure stood tall. It looked like they were stepping on something.

Bai Ling’Er’s pupils constricted, but her expression quickly turned to one of pleasant surprise.

’It’s Chen Xuan!’

’Speak of the devil! To think I’d find him here without even trying!’

She had actually run into Chen Xuan here!

But just as she was overcome with joy, eager to prove herself, she suddenly calmed down. A chill ran down her spine, and a cold sweat broke out all over her body.

A trace of terror even appeared in her eyes.

Because she had just made a shocking discovery.

The person Chen Xuan was stepping on... why did he look so much like her brother?

’No!’

’It’s not just a resemblance!’

’It... it *is* my brother.’

"Oh?"

Hearing the sound, Chen Xuan turned his head abruptly. His eyes landed on Bai Ling’Er, and a smile spread across his face. "You’re here."

Under his foot, Bai Qianli lay like a dead dog, his face a mask of humiliation. With his bones and tendons shattered, he looked at his younger sister in utter despair. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

He desperately wanted to scream for his sister to run for her life.

But he was afraid Chen Xuan would kill him on the spot, crushing him to death with a single stomp.

He was too afraid of death.

’I don’t want to die!’

And so, he could only watch helplessly as his sister approached, unable to utter a single word...

"No, this is impossible..."

Bai Ling’Er’s mind roared, buzzing in disbelief. Her eyes were wide with horror. "How could you do this to my brother?"

Her brother was at the Dark Force Ninth Layer.

He had been her idol since they were children, a once-in-a-generation prodigy of the Bai family.

Growing up, her brother had always been number one. He had never lost.

"Yes, I was wondering the same thing. How could he be so weak?"

Chen Xuan’s voice was flat as it echoed in the alley.

"What I’m wondering even more is why you wanted to make me your slave when we have no quarrel. It’s a real headache. But since I can’t figure it out, I guess I’ll just have to kill you both!"

SQUELCH!

With a stomp of his foot, a look of terror flashed across Bai Qianli’s face. His head exploded like a watermelon under Chen Xuan’s sole with a loud SPLAT, splattering red and white matter everywhere.

"Brother!"

Bai Ling’Er shrieked in terror.

It was as if her soul had been scared right out of her body.

’My brother is dead?’

’My brother is dead?’

"Now it’s your turn!"

Chen Xuan’s lips curled into a savage grin.

BOOM!

He lunged forward like a raging beast, surging with terrifying Qi Energy as he charged straight toward Bai Ling’Er.

Though filled with fear, Bai Ling’Er’s survival instincts kicked in. Her reaction was swift; she turned and fled in a panic toward the water.

"Xiaoqing, save me!"

She screamed shrilly, putting every last ounce of strength into her escape.

"ROAR!"

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed out, and water splashed everywhere.

An enormous green demon beast leaped from beneath the water’s surface. Brimming with ferocious Qi Energy, it roared like a fierce tiger and lunged, trying to bite down viciously on Chen Xuan’s body.

"Vile beast!"

A cold glint flashed in Chen Xuan’s eyes.

The instant the green demon beast pounced, Chen Xuan’s massive, vein-popped hand, as large as a cattail fan, slammed onto its cheek with a resounding BOOM.

The immense, terrifying force first shattered the beast’s face, sending blood flying. Then, a terrifying wave of Dark Energy pierced through its facial bones like countless fine needles, blasting into its brain.

Chen Xuan was now several times stronger than when he had last encountered it.

That single palm strike had shattered most of its facial bones.

"ROAR!"

The green demon beast let out a wretched cry. Its entire brain throbbed with excruciating pain, and scorching steam rose from its face as if it had been cooked.

But that wasn’t all.

Chen Xuan’s five fingers suddenly clenched. His sharp, terrifying fingertips, glinting like metal and imbued with unimaginable power, pierced through the beast’s facial bones and, with a CRUNCH, completely crushed them.

Gripping its body with one arm, he swung it around and, continuing his forward charge, hurled it violently in Bai Ling’Er’s direction.

Terrified, Bai Ling’Er scrambled forward and leaped desperately into the river, fleeing for her life beneath the water’s surface.

With a loud BOOM.

The green demon beast, in immense pain, was thrown far by Chen Xuan, slamming into the ground and shaking the earth violently.

But the demon beast’s life force was frighteningly strong.

Even after taking such a beating, it didn’t die immediately.

Its body struggled violently as it tried to get up and flee in a panic.

Chen Xuan’s face was grim. He shot forward, swinging his Vajra Fist. Like a descending vajra warrior, he brought it down on the demon beast’s head once more, radiating an indescribable, terrifying pressure.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Chen Xuan’s arms glowed with a bronze light. His power was terrifying, like a descending vajra warrior, his Qi Energy rolling off him in waves.

He rained down a furious barrage of seven or eight punches in an instant.

"ROAR!"

The green demon beast let out a pained, low roar. Its head was completely caved in. The powerful and terrifying Qi Energy twisted its facial features, and streams of blood poured from its ears, eyes, and nostrils.

Even its neck was bent at an unnatural angle by the immense force. The ground beneath its body cracked and splintered, and the powerful Dark Energy blasted a crater half a meter wide into the earth.

[You have grievously wounded and killed a green demon beast. Retribution points +2000!]

Chen Xuan spun around and charged toward the rippling water. With a cold look in his eyes, he suddenly leaped into the river, giving chase to Bai Ling’Er.

...

「Far away.」

Bai Ling’Er fled for her life in terror. Paddling desperately with her hands and feet, she swam underwater like a nimble fish, wanting only to escape this place at all costs.

’A demon!’

’That Chen Xuan is a demon!’

’My brother is dead!’

’Xiaoqing is dead!’

’I’m scared out of my wits.’

’This can’t be happening!’

’This is a nightmare, a nightmare... Wake up, wake up from this nightmare...’

*Sob... sob... sob...*

If she weren’t underwater, she would have burst into tears on the spot.

’How did it come to this?’

’Can anyone tell me why someone who should have been an easy catch possesses such terrifying strength?’

’I want to go home!!’

As Bai Ling’Er swam desperately into the distance, she suddenly felt a weight on her foot, as if something had grabbed her from beneath the water. In her terror, she quickly looked back.

What she saw made her scalp tingle and her hair stand on end.

Deep underwater.

A powerfully built figure with a savage grin had appeared out of nowhere. A massive, fan-like hand was clamped firmly around her fair, smooth ankle. His eyes, glinting with excitement, were utterly terrifying in the underwater gloom.

It was Chen Xuan!

Bai Ling’Er was beyond terrified.
