Unrivaled Soldier in the City
Chapter 536: The Fifth White Feather
Outside the room, Zhantai Xuan waited with a dark expression, his keen hearing easily capturing the conversation between Zhantai Mingyue and Lin Kuang.
Zhantai Jing’s expression seemed calm, but he was inwardly displeased. In their view, the Lin Family was not qualified to be on par with the Zhantai Family, and Lin Kuang was certainly not worthy of marrying Zhantai Mingyue.
However, it wasn’t convenient for him to say much here, as he was wary of Elder Lin.
It’s a kind of intuition, but I always feel that Elder Lin is dangerous. The sensation leaves me deeply unsettled.
Holding Lin Kuang’s hand, Zhantai Mingyue again reminded him, "Lin Kuang, I’m leaving now. Remember to miss me."
Lin Kuang smiled and nodded, gently patting her head. "I will. Go on home."
"Okay," Zhantai Mingyue replied, her eyes red and filled with reluctance.
At this moment, Zhantai Xuan could no longer hold back. He snapped coldly, "Boy, keep your hands off Mingyue!"
Zhantai Xuan was extremely annoyed. He didn’t even address Lin Kuang by name because, in his eyes, the boy wasn’t worthy.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang frowned slightly as his eyes met Zhantai Xuan’s. "This is the Lin Family. It’s not your place to come here and shout," he said, his tone cold. His heart was already simmering with anger, and Zhantai Xuan’s repeated interruptions infuriated him.
"Boy, you’re courting death!" Zhantai Xuan’s expression flickered as he vanished, a fist flying toward Lin Kuang.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang didn’t flinch, his gaze turning icy in an instant.
"As if I’m afraid of you!" With that, Lin Kuang shot forward, his formidable power erupting in an instant.
The Open Door, the Rest Gate, the Life Gate, the Injury Gate, and the Du Gate—all Five Gates flew open as Lin Kuang unleashed his full strength without reservation!
Sensing the overwhelming power radiating from Lin Kuang, Zhantai Xuan was stunned for a moment before he sneered, "Overestimating your own strength!"
As he spoke, their fists collided.
BANG!
A terrifying power exploded on impact, sending Lin Kuang flying backward. He retreated seven or eight steps before barely managing to steady himself. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Lin Kuang’s face was pale. His internal meridians were twisted, and his internal organs had sustained minor damage.
How can this be? I didn’t think he was that strong, yet he just unleashed such terrifying power! Lin Kuang was utterly aghast.
"Third Uncle, what are you doing?!" Zhantai Mingyue cried out, dropping her purse and rushing to Lin Kuang’s side.
Supporting him, she asked with a worried expression, "Lin Kuang, are you okay?"
"I’m fine. I can take it," Lin Kuang replied calmly.
"Hmph. Girl, I was already going easy on him. I only used thirty percent of my strength. Otherwise, you’d be looking at his corpse right now!" Zhantai Xuan said disdainfully, his gaze filled with even more scorn.
Deep down, however, Zhantai Xuan had to admit that Lin Kuang was very strong, definitely a prodigy among the younger generation.
"Juniors of the Zhantai Family, it seems you’ve decided to treat my words as a passing breeze, have you?" the old master asked, standing up from his rocking chair, his tone cold.
"Hmph. Old man, we show you respect because of your great contributions to this country," Zhantai Xuan said coldly. "But that doesn’t give the Lin Family the right to be arrogant, let alone presumptuous, before the Zhantai Family!"
Hearing this, the old master suddenly smiled. "Very good. Even the head of your Zhantai Family wouldn’t dare to be so arrogant in my presence. You two certainly have nerve."
Zhantai Xuan was stunned for a moment, then dismissed the words with a scoff, assuming the old man was just boasting. Zhantai Jing, however, simply frowned. To be honest, he also felt Elder Lin’s tone was a bit too grand.
"Someone, throw these two out," the old master commanded, calmly sitting back down in his rocking chair.
"Yes, sir," a voice replied from seemingly nowhere.
As the voice spoke, a figure appeared before the old master, causing the expressions of Zhantai Jing and Zhantai Xuan to change drastically. They hadn’t seen when this person had appeared. To be more precise, they hadn’t sensed the presence of such a powerful expert in the courtyard at all.
The man turned his head and spoke calmly. "Zhantai Jing and Zhantai Xuan, I presume? You’re not young men anymore. You’re really asking for trouble."
Their expressions shifted subtly. They were shocked that someone here knew their names.
However, the moment they saw the man’s face, their eyes filled with utter shock and disbelief.
"You... you... you’re Diwu Baiyu?" Zhantai Jing asked, his face a mask of shock, his body trembling slightly.
"Correct. My family name is Diwu, my given name is Baiyu," the man said lightly. "However, shouldn’t you be addressing me as ’Senior’?"
At his words, Zhantai Jing and Zhantai Xuan swallowed hard. "Se-Senior, you’re still alive?"
This man, Diwu Baiyu, was a legendary expert in the Ancient Martial Realm and a senior of a bygone era. His deeds were countless, but his most famous was a battle to the death against a powerful figure from the evil path, where both were said to have perished together.
And yet, here he was, not dead. It was something neither Zhantai Jing nor Zhantai Xuan could believe.
"Why should I be dead? Or perhaps you wish that I were?" Diwu Baiyu asked, his gaze calm.
"No, no, no, Senior, we meant no such thing," Zhantai Jing said hurriedly.
"Enough. I can’t be bothered to talk to you any longer. Old Lin told me to give you a beating, so I suppose I have to act," Diwu Baiyu said indifferently.
The next moment, he made his move.
The expressions of Zhantai Jing and Zhantai Xuan changed instantly, but they couldn’t see Diwu Baiyu’s actions at all. They were powerful experts, yet they couldn’t even perceive his movements. The realization terrified them.
BANG! BANG!
Zhantai Xuan and Zhantai Jing were sent flying out the main gate, where they collapsed to the ground, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths.
One strike. A single strike was all it took to send them both flying and leave them injured.
Lin Kuang witnessed everything, his eyes filled with astonishment. It was the first time he had ever seen such a formidable opponent. Diwu Baiyu’s power was simply incredible.
Based on Zhantai Xuan’s claim of using only thirty percent of his strength in their clash, Lin Kuang had estimated his power to be on par with the Nameless Elder’s.
Yet, Diwu Baiyu had injured both of them with a single, casual strike. This was enough to show just how terrifyingly powerful he truly was.
