Unrivaled Soldier in the City
Chapter 553
Upon receiving this news, headquarters immediately dispatched ten fighter jets. This was a major move, a clear sign the enemy was now determined to kill Lin Kuang.
Of course, Lin Kuang was unaware of this. He was less than half an hour from the border of his homeland, and once he crossed it, he would have nothing to fear.
The pilot of the second fighter jet grew cautious and held back, but he fired another missile anyway, intending to disrupt the private plane’s speed.
Lin Kuang was growing frustrated. He couldn’t keep this up; the enemy had plenty of ammunition, while he was left with only one rocket.
"Wan’er, find a way to get close to that guy! I want to take him down!" Lin Kuang said.
"Okay, I’m thinking of a way," Mu Wan replied, her beautiful eyes shimmering with thought.
The next moment, Mu Wan gritted her teeth, and the plane suddenly plummeted at an incredible speed. The move was so sudden that Lin Kuang nearly lost his footing. Fortunately, his quick reflexes saved him.
The pilot of the second fighter jet followed from a distance. He didn’t dare get too close, especially since the rocket launcher in Lin Kuang’s hand was not just for show.
Mu Wan kept the plane in a dive until it was less than two hundred meters from the ground, at which point she leveled it off. Then, the plane ascended sharply again.
The pilot of the second fighter jet was a bit confused but quickly gave chase.
Just then, Mu Wan suddenly let go of the controls. The plane plunged downward again with astonishing speed.
"Lin Kuang, this is our only chance!" Mu Wan exclaimed.
"Understood!" Lin Kuang nodded.
The private plane was now close to the fighter jet, well within the rocket launcher’s effective range. Without a moment’s hesitation, Lin Kuang fired.
BANG!
The rocket shot out, speeding directly toward the fighter jet.
However, the pilot was on high alert. Seeing the rocket launch, he immediately pulled the jet up into a steep climb, and the rocket streaked past, missing its target.
Seeing Lin Kuang’s rocket miss, the pilot couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. Now that he has no more powerful weapons, how can he possibly fight back? Thinking this, the pilot shot Lin Kuang a look of disdain.
However, a dark object was suddenly hurtling toward him.
"What is that?!"
The color drained from the pilot’s face. In the next instant, the dark object slammed into the cockpit’s canopy.
The canopy was supposed to be bulletproof and exceptionally strong, but the pilot had forgotten one crucial detail: Lin Kuang had thrown the empty rocket launcher itself. It was a very heavy object. The force of Lin Kuang’s throw, combined with the jet’s own velocity, was more than enough to shatter the canopy instantly.
The pilot’s death was pathetic, to say the least. He might have been the only pilot in history to be killed by an empty rocket launcher. A ridiculously tragic end.
The fighter jet plummeted, erupting in a ball of fire as it crashed.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang finally let out a breath of relief. They had finally taken down their pursuer.
Mu Wan regained control of the plane and leveled it out, continuing their course toward their homeland’s border. She pushed the plane to its maximum velocity, reaching the absolute limit of its speed.
"Phew! Wan’er, the crisis is resolved. We’re safe now," Lin Kuang said with a smile as he returned to the cockpit.
"Mhm. In twenty-five minutes, we’ll be inside our homeland’s borders. Even if they send more fighter jets now, it’ll be too late," Mu Wan said, smiling as well. With the crisis averted, she could also finally relax.
"Yeah. Now you can have my babies," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
Hearing this, Mu Wan rolled her eyes at him. "Cut the nonsense. Tell me, how many beautiful women have you been charming while you were away?"
Mu Wan said this with a teasing smile, her large eyes sizing him up.
At her words, Lin Kuang wished he could smack himself twice. Why did I have to run my mouth? Why bring up having babies? What was I thinking! he thought sullenly. He hesitated, wondering if he should just come clean. What if Wan’er gets angry? But I don’t want to lie to her. Besides, the truth will out eventually.
Seeing Lin Kuang sitting there silently, Mu Wan couldn’t help but glare at him. "Spill it, Lin Kuang, or I won’t be so nice!"
With that, Mu Wan seemed to transform into a fearsome tigress, giving Lin Kuang a genuine scare. In this state, she was truly terrifying to him.
"Ahem, of course I’ll tell you. I was just counting how many there were," Lin Kuang said awkwardly.
"What? You need to count? Lin Kuang, you bastard, just how many are there?!" Mu Wan exclaimed, planting her hands on her hips and glaring.
"Ahem, no, no, that’s not it. Wan’er, you’ve misunderstood. There really aren’t that many. The ones I’m... definitely with... I guess there are just seven. Including you, that makes eight," he mumbled pitifully, sneaking glances at Mu Wan’s face.
"So those are just the ones you’re *definitely* with? Does that mean there are others you’re not so sure about?" Mu Wan sneered.
"No, that’s not it! The uncertain ones... I don’t know about them yet! I meant for the future!" Lin Kuang hurriedly explained.
The moment the words left his mouth, he regretted them. Damn it, I’m just asking for a beating!
Sure enough, hearing his words, Mu Wan was so angry she laughed. "Heh, ’for the future’... Lin Kuang, so eight isn’t enough for you? How many more do you want? An imperial harem of three thousand beauties?"
"No, no, that’s too many. I couldn’t even get through three thousand in a year," Lin Kuang muttered under his breath.
At this, Mu Wan stepped forward, grabbed Lin Kuang’s ear, and twisted it fiercely.
"Ouch! Wan’er, Wan’er! Your ear-twisting Kung Fu is as sharp as ever! In fact, it’s only gotten stronger!" Lin Kuang howled.
In the past, whenever Lin Kuang angered her, Mu Wan would resort to her ultimate move: the ear-twist. It was a technique that never failed.
"Hmph! If I don’t teach you a lesson, you’ll forget your own name, you bastard!" Mu Wan said in annoyance.
"Ow, ow! Wan’er, Wan’er, let me explain! That’s not what I meant! You misunderstood me!" Lin Kuang yelped, feeling utterly frustrated.
