Unwanted Marriage: Honey, No More Divorce!
Chapter 585: Why Did Everything Seem Awfully Familiar?
Christian helplessly watched as Wendy entered the room, he wanted to stop her right away.
Sadly, his every move was under Michael’s control.
The moment he made a move, Michael moved the gun even closer.
The safe did not catch Wendy’s eye when she first entered the room. Instead, a disheveled display caught her attention.
There was a cabinet in front of her.
It seemed like a display cabinet and was filled with stuff.
It would hardly be strange for a rich guy like Christian to display some antiques or something alike, but most of the things in the glass display looked like used items.
Wendy frowned and intuitively glanced at Christian.
She did not ask Christian about the stuff right away. Instead, she went over to the cabinet and looked at its contents.
The cabinet was huge and it was packed with stuff.
However, it was rather disorganized and mostly filled with toiletries and personal effects such as clothes, eyebrow pencils, lipsticks, and hair clips.
There was even a glass bottle filled with a few strands of hair.
Everything here had one thing in common, they were used items.
Also, they belonged to a woman.
Wendy genuinely could not wrap her mind around it and unthinkingly asked Christian, "What is this stuff?"
Christian did not dare to look Wendy straight in the eyes this time.
He clamped his jaw awkwardly trying to look serious yet seemed a little embarrassed.
"Why is the cabinet full of used products?" Wendy frowned and sounded both puzzled and shocked. "Also, everything in here are women’s products."
Wendy kept looking around. Why did Wendy feel some of the stuff in here seemed awfully familiar?
The moment Michael heard what Wendy said, he subconsciously looked inside the room.
Christian quickly stepped forward and took the gun from Michael’s hands while he was distracted.
Sadly, Michael reacted swiftly and raised his hand to hit Christian’s hand before he could hold the gun tightly.
Christian winced in pain and the gun fell onto the ground once more.
The two of them both looked at the gun on the ground.
Wendy had not expected Christian and Michael to get into a fight.
She instinctively wanted to stop them, but Michael shouted, "Get the safe!"
Wendy glanced at Michael worriedly before she gritted her teeth and looked for the safe.
Zen watched as Christian and Michael became entangled in a fight in the living room and felt particularly nervous.
Bruises quickly appeared on both their faces.
Michael punched Christian hard in the face and shoved him onto the ground.
Christian was unable to keep his balance and toppled.
However, Christian happened to fall right beside the gun.
Just as Christian was about to grab the gun, Zen suddenly shouted, "That stuff used to belong to Wendy!"
The moment Zen spoke, Christian’s eyes turned red and his hand stiffly froze.
Michael swiftly pounced on the opportunity to pick up the gun on the ground.
A gun was now pointed to Christian’s forehead yet again.
Michael suddenly realized what Zen was trying to say.
He furrowed his brows and asked sternly, "What did you just say?"
"I..." Zen did not have the strength to repeat herself.
Wendy was squatted on the ground in front of his safe and looked at the chain around it.
Since the door to the room was open, Wendy had heard every word of what Zen just said as well.
She went back to the display cabinet and scrutinized its contents once more.
...
Looking through them again, Wendy came to a realization. No wonder she felt a hint of familiarity earlier. She was not sure about the smaller items but this floral dress, she had the exact same piece. The floral dress was quite an old piece. It was soiled and the stain could not be washed off. That was why Wendy threw it away.
Wendy reached over to open the wardrobe and took out the dress. Indeed, there was a stain near the hem of the dress. As for the other items, although Wendy found them familiar, these were the regular cosmetics she used daily and the brands were not uncommon.
Wendy’s face froze as she was shocked beyond words. Christian had collected all the things she used before? Wendy did not expect that at all.
Michael saw Wendy coming out of the room and asked, "Are those your things?"
Wendy looked solemn and she nodded as she was still at a loss for words about the situation.
Michael was so enraged when he saw Wendy nodding that he loaded his gun.
"Michael, you need to calm down." Wendy persuaded Michael as she reached over and tried to stop him.
"How can I stay calm?" Michael shouted. "He actually collected the things you used before. How gross and perverted can he get?"
"Yes, he deserves to be punished. But Evan is not here yet right? Wendy said in Michael’s ear. "If you kill him now, wouldn’t it affect your plan thereafter? Besides, if you really kill him, it is considered as a criminal act and you will have to face the legal consequences of the law." Wendy grabbed Michael by his hand and gave it a tight squeeze. Michael did not pull the trigger in the end and instead, he kicked hard on Christian’s abdomen. Christian moved two steps back from the impact of the kick.
"Christian, I know you have always liked Wendy but I never could have imagined that you will commit such perverted acts." Michael felt revolted by the thought of it.
"You are DR’s CEO after all and you are also a drug lord. How can you drop down to such a level and be a lewd pervert?"
Christian had only admitted to Michael once before that he liked Wendy but it seemed like everyone else knew about it. He hid the feelings deep in his heart. But now it was an open secret, publicly declared in such a manner. Christian looked down slightly. For the first time, he did not know how to refute and defend himself.
After all that has happened, there was no point for him to deny it or to act clueless about it. Since he had done it and he has been exposed, he could just own up.
Christian wiped off the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked up. His eyes looked sharp and provoking. "Yes, I have a liking for her. But so what?"
"She is my wife!" Michael said agitatedly, "She is my wife, didn’t you know?"
"Of course, I knew. The first time we met was at Grandmother’s birthday party. At that time, she came to the event as my sister-in-law." Christian said, "I have the right to choose who I want to love. It has nothing to do with her status and identity."
"You don’t have an idea what shameless means, do you?" Michael retorted.
"Shameless?" Christian let out a hysteric laugh suddenly. "Between us, the word ’shameless’ ceases to exist."
Michael and Christian shared the same father. But since they were born, they were destined to be enemies. Between them, they had done so many shameless things toeach other, that it did not hold any meaning anymore.
