Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Waiting for You in the Room

Ever since Liu Gang had Zhang Hao come over to "seed," He Qianhui had found that her husband truly had no way with words.

"So you really hope your wife gets played with by others, huh? I certainly don’t have that kind of hobby."

"If I hear that sort of thing one more time, don’t even think about touching me."

He Qianhui knew that if she didn’t lose her temper, given Liu Gang’s personality,

this kind of language that nearly insulted her character would definitely occur again.

Liu Gang felt indifferent, thinking that she was trying to act like a righteous woman even though she wasn’t one.

Anyone who didn’t know better would think she was some kind of paragon of chastity.

After He Qianhui had changed her clothes, she went to the kitchen, thankful that today Zhang Hao had satisfied her.

God knows how much resentment she would have had otherwise; she didn’t want to cook anything too troublesome that evening.

She took some vegetables out of the fridge, washed them, and stir-fried them carelessly.

She reheated two large steamed buns from the afternoon and considered that a meal.

That night, after Liu Gang had finished his meal, he hurriedly climbed into bed, wanting to give it another try.

But as soon as He Qianhui’s hand touched him, it went soft.

Liu Gang was disheartened and suddenly remembered that his cousin had studied medicine in college.

He had bought countless so-called remedies from the internet that were said to restore a man’s vigor—Liu Gang had tried many over time.

Topical treatments, oral medications... none of them worked.

His "equipment" was still not up to the task.

If it had never responded, he wouldn’t have harbored any false hope.

But that afternoon, he had a reaction while secretly eavesdropping, which couldn’t help but make him think he might still be capable.

He decided to buy some things the next morning and pay a visit to his cousin’s place.

He Qianhui had been satisfied that day and was also tired.

Seeing her husband’s failure, she felt a strange sense of relief.

"It’s getting late, I need to go to sleep; I have things to do early tomorrow morning."

After speaking, He Qianhui turned over, pulled up the covers, and closed her eyes.

Liu Gang leaned against the headboard and lit a cigarette. After taking a couple of puffs, he felt uneasy, snuffed it out, and turned off the bedside lamp.

The bedroom instantly darkened, becoming so quiet that even the heartbeat could be heard clearly.

The next morning, Qianhui got dressed and left the house early.

As soon as she was gone, Liu Gang, also ready, went to the supermarket. He bought two cartons of milk, some fruits, and a decent pack of cigarettes for Zhang Hao’s dad.

Arriving at the destination, Liu Gang first made small talk with his cousin’s parents before heading to his cousin’s room.

As soon as he entered, he closed the door behind him. Seeing his cousin’s unusual behavior, Zhang Hao started to get nervous.

Could it be that he knew about yesterday’s matter with Xiaohui?

But wasn’t that with his cousin’s tacit consent?

Could it be that he had regrets after just one night?

As he pondered, Liu Gang approached him and said in a conspiratorial tone, "Cousin, you studied medicine. Do you know of any way to make my ’guy’ work better?"

"I won’t lie to you, the previous few times you were intimate with your sister-in-law in the room, I felt like mine had some reaction."

"Doesn’t that prove that my thing can still work, just that the stimulus isn’t quite there?"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Hao suddenly didn’t know how to respond—as he had studied surgery in college, not urology.

About the male side of things, he knew very little.

But still, out of his professional expertise, he thought of a method for his cousin.

"If that’s the case, then, cousin, you should go to a urology clinic for an examination."

Liu Gang didn’t know much, but he knew that a hospital visit would cost a good deal of money.

What he figured was that his cousin could get him some medication to try; it was not only cheaper but also more discreet.

If he ran into someone he knew at the hospital, where would he put his face? Good news stays within doors, while bad news travels far and wide.

He bragged outside about how he could satisfy his wife, yet after many years of marriage, he hadn’t even seen the shadow of a child.

"Cousin, actually there are many methods to have children now. If it doesn’t work out, let your wife endure some hardship and try IVF."

Liu Gang, like most men, especially valued fertility; he just wanted to have a child with his own abilities.

Children from IVF always seemed a bit dubious to him.

Seeing that his cousin didn’t respond, Zhang Hao didn’t know what else to say and continued to fiddle with the computer in front of him.

Suddenly, Liu Gang spoke, "Cousin, how about this, you and your sister-in-law give it a try in front of me, that might stimulate me."

After the previous incident of asking for sperm donation, Zhang Hao wasn’t surprised to hear his cousin say this, but it still made him see stars.

"Cousin, what are you talking about? She’s my sister-in-law."

Liu Gang snorted, and propped up his legs, "Kid, don’t think I don’t know about yesterday. What are you still pretending for?"

Zhang Hao’s face turned red, but he still tried to maintain composure, "That’s not acceptable either. Who does that sort of thing in front of a third person?"

Hearing his cousin say this, Liu Gang shouted towards the living room, "Aunt, Uncle, come in and help us judge."

Zhang Hao shot up from his chair and quickly covered his cousin’s mouth, "Cousin, what are you doing? How can we let my parents know about this?"

Liu Gang pushed Zhang Hao’s hand away, "We’re all family; I don’t mind, what are you worried about? I am thinking about the future of the Liu family."

A few minutes later, the cousins came out of the room. Seeing his parents’ serious faces, Zhang Hao knew something bad was brewing.

"Hao, your cousin came up with this method because he’s at his wits’ end. You don’t want to see your cousin left without any support in his old age, do you?" Zhang Hao’s mother said.

"Exactly, if this family doesn’t have a child, it’s not complete. Maybe this child will be good for you too someday," Zhang Hao’s father said.

Seeing his own parents take his cousin’s side and say such things, Zhang Hao was shocked.

"Cousin, look, Aunt and Uncle agree, so just help out. If it turns out to be a son in the future, I’ll let him take care of you in your old age," Liu Gang said.

After saying this, Liu Gang went to call his wife, his confidence high.

He Qianhui was choosing lingerie at the innerwear store when she received the call. Previously she only cared about comfort, but now her mindset had changed.

She wanted to buy the kind that was of poor quality, easily torn with a bit of force, and if possible, something seductive too. While she was still making her selection, the call came through.

"What, go to Aunt’s place? Okay, I’ll come right back."

On the phone, Liu Gang didn’t specify what it was for; He Qianhui didn’t overthink it, guessing it was probably dinner.

After paying for the lingerie she had picked out, she headed back.

She didn’t even stop the car when passing by their house and immediately drove to Zhang Hao’s place.

But upon entering, she didn’t smell the aroma of food. Before He Qianhui could even speak, Liu Gang coughed.

He said, "Wife, you have to seize the opportunity, this time you must give me a son."

He Qianhui paused for a moment, then glanced at Aunt and Uncle sitting on the sofa, and instantly understood why she was rushed over.

"Xiaohui, don’t feel any pressure, it’s all the Liu family’s child. Hao is waiting for you in the room," said Aunt.
