Urban Super Soldier King
Chapter 1963 - 2064: A Direct Conversation with Number One
Sun Bo knew Xiang Yu had a sense of propriety, so he didn’t ask further questions.
At around ten o’clock in the evening, while Xiang Yu and Sun Bo were casually chatting on the sofa, someone rang the doorbell.
Sun Bo was about to get up to open the door when Xiang Yu stopped him and said, "Let me do it, it’s probably someone coming to pick me up."
Sun Bo remained seated, while Xiang Yu put on his coat and walked toward the door.
Outside the door stood two tall and well-built individuals. From their posture and facial expressions, it was clear that they were soldiers.
"Please come with us," one of them said sternly.
"Let’s go," Xiang Yu agreed without hesitation.
The other person took out a detector and scanned Xiang Yu, producing a beeping sound.
Xiang Yu took out his dagger and threw it on the ground.
Seeing this, the two nodded and then escorted Xiang Yu into a car, placing a blindfold on him.
"Is this really necessary? I’m not a criminal," Xiang Yu said helplessly.
But the car was silent, and no one responded to him.
The car drove for about two hours, and all Xiang Yu could feel was a series of left and right turns before it finally stopped.
Xiang Yu was led into a room and had the blindfold removed.
The harsh light made him feel uncomfortable for a moment.
After a while, Xiang Yu slowly opened his eyes. The surroundings were spacious and luxuriously decorated.
But Xiang Yu could sense that they were underground; this must be an important facility.
A figure sat quietly on the sofa ahead, watching him.
"Sir," Xiang Yu called out as he walked closer.
He felt somewhat disappointed, as he sensed numerous eyes observing him, ready to act if he made any sudden moves toward the figure.
"Long time no see," the figure remarked reflectively.
Xiang Yu nodded, "Yes, sir, you haven’t contacted me for some time."
"I’ve been too busy lately, too many engagements," the figure replied, then sat upright. "How’s the situation with Xiao Ba?"
It had been a while since the figure last reached out to Xiang Yu, and in his mind, Xiang Yu should still be meddling with Xiao Ba.
"Xiao Ba’s situation has stabilized, though some remnants are causing trouble, but they pose no serious threat," Xiang Yu candidly reported.
"Is there a reason you hurried to meet me?" the figure asked.
"I’ve made some headway on the task you assigned me," Xiang Yu said.
The figure was momentarily taken aback, his mind racing. He had so many tasks to manage every day that he often forgot about them after delegating them.
Xiang Yu noticed the figure’s confusion and quickly added, "Someone plans to create chaos during the parade."
The figure remembered, then nodded, "Explain the situation."
"Several organizations are involved. Their aim is to create an incident on this day of global attention to boost their influence and force our country to meet their demands."
"Ridiculous," the figure snorted derisively. "Daring to use us as a bargaining chip, do they not fear their own ruin?"
"One, how do you plan to handle this?" Xiang Yu pressed.
The figure did not offer his opinion but instead asked, "Are you part of this operation?"
Xiang Yu nodded, "I was just recruited by them, so I am not yet aware of the specifics."
The figure nodded in approval. Although he had assigned the task to Xiang Yu initially, he had not been optimistic about him.
And since they hadn’t communicated for such a long time, the figure still harbored some wariness toward Xiang Yu.
After all, people change, especially as their power grows, their ambitions tend to shift.
"What have they tasked you with in our country?" the figure asked with curiosity.
"To steal the defense plans for the ceremony day and all military deployments," Xiang Yu replied without reservation.
The figure felt reassured seeing Xiang Yu’s openness, as it indicated he was not lying.
"What are your thoughts?" the figure inquired.
"I want to infiltrate the military, pretend to collect the data, and at the last minute inform them that the information is false, forcing them to abandon the mission," Xiang Yu said earnestly.
The figure pondered this for a few minutes before asking, "Who exactly are involved in this operation?"
This was a question Xiang Yu hesitated to answer. Despite being Chinese and having deep feelings for his country, he had reservations.
After all, his initial investigation was under the figure’s command, but emotions were complicated, and Xiang Yu didn’t want to implicate Wolf Fang.
"Many international organizations are involved," Xiang Yu replied vaguely.
The figure regarded Xiang Yu seriously. He knew Xiang Yu didn’t intend to disclose more, which at his level of position only suggested matters were complicated.
In the figure’s eyes, Xiang Yu was a novice, so Xiang Yu had no intention of hiding anything in front of him.
"Tell me how you got involved in this mission," the figure said, adopting a posture of attentive listening.
Xiang Yu hid nothing and recounted his journey from Xiao Ba to Xiao Xu and the sudden acquisition of this information.
The figure looked surprised, then asked with curiosity, "How are things going with Xiao Xu?"
"Not bad, the organization is developing," Xiang Yu replied.
The initial expansion of the organization had been sanctioned by the figure, though he’d not expected Xiang Yu to succeed.
"What’s wrong, One?" Xiang Yu promptly asked, noticing the figure’s silence.
The figure smiled and said, "Nothing, just surprised you managed it."
Now, Xiang Yu was not only a Special Forces soldier of China but also a leader of a large group.
The figure subtly felt that he was gradually losing his influence over Xiang Yu.
"Did you join this mission so easily?" the figure asked.
Xiang Yu smiled wryly, "It only sounds simple. In reality, I spent a year investigating this matter."
The figure realized he had been somewhat condescending, so he smiled lightly and said, "Your suggestion is good, but have you considered other methods?"
"What methods?" Xiang Yu asked.
"You are a vital piece to them; you could lure them into our ambush for us to wipe them out completely," the figure suggested, a cold glint in his eyes.
Xiang Yu could even sense the killing intent emanating from the figure.
"No," Xiang Yu refused decisively.
He realized his tone was a bit harsh, so he softened and added, "These organizations are internationally renowned. If we offend them in this matter, it might not bode well for China."
"They would pose a threat to us?" the figure retorted with a hint of disdain.
Despite not being a developed country, China was developing rapidly. Their principle was not to initiate conflicts but also not to fear war.
"It’s not that we’re afraid of them, but they’re elusive, roaming across various places worldwide. Eliminating them entirely would be quite challenging," Xiang Yu explained...
