Chapter 2000: Chapter 2101: Charging Onto the Battlefield With a Broadsword

"Go, let’s check out the battlefield to the north," Long Wu said, then proceeded ahead.

Arriving at the northern battlefield, it was in the middle of fierce combat. Bullets and rockets from the other side continually struck their base.

"Commander, why are you here? It’s dangerous, you should head to the back," one of the captains said sternly.

Just as he finished speaking, a bullet went straight through his head, splashing blood all over Long Wu’s face.

Long Wu shuddered with fright. Although she had seen much of the world, she was still a woman.

"Are you alright?" Xi’er quickly supported Long Wu.

Long Wu felt sorrowful, then squatted down to close the captain’s eyes. Since it’s war, death is inevitable.

Long Wu looked into the distance with binoculars, seeing that the enemy was launching wave after wave of attacks, showing no signs of retreating.

"Convey my orders, move the brothers from the southern battlefield over here, and cut them in half from the middle," Long Wu decisively ordered.

"But the southern battlefield..."

"Follow the order."

Long Wu issued the command directly; the northern battlefield was on the verge of collapse, leaving them no time for further thought.

"Yes," Xi’er responded simply, then issued the order.

Long Wu observed the battlefield here; both the enemy’s attack styles, their attire, and their weaponry were completely different from those in the south.

Clearly, this wasn’t the same troop.

She didn’t know why the enemy in the south retreated, maybe it was a lack of coordination, but it provided them an opportunity.

The enemy’s flank on the northern battlefield was completely exposed, and she intended to exploit this mistake.

The City Guard Army silently withdrew from the southern battlefield and headed to the north.

Their movements were concealed, not alerting the enemy.

Long Wu waited anxiously in the rear; she had everything set up, just waiting for the brothers to be in position.

"Commander, our brothers at the northern battlefield can’t hold out, the enemy’s attack is too fierce, and our ammunition is running low," a communications soldier urgently reported to Long Wu.

"Deploy the reserve troops over there, hold the line until the flank is prepared," Long Wu shouted.

"Yes!"

The communications soldier cried out desperately, it was a life-and-death decision, and they were ready for sacrifice.

The enemy at the northern battlefield was attacking fiercely; their numbers were few, but the quality of each person seemed high.

In the back of the battlefield, Wolf Fang’s new leader Lin Youyong was casually drinking tea.

Someone hurried over, stood straight, and said, "Report, boss, messages from the front line say something is strange about the war."

"What’s the matter?" Lin Youyong asked indifferently.

"There seems to be some movement from the opponent, and the southern battlefield has almost halted. We suspect COM has withdrawn from the battle."

Lin Youyong sneered and said, "Ignore the others, we can fight this battlefield ourselves."

"But if they withdraw, our flank will be exposed, allowing the opponent to catch us off guard."

"Catch us off guard with their troop strength, what a joke. Pass down the order to continue attacking, don’t stop; they probably won’t last much longer," Lin Youyong stated.

The person wished to offer advice, but Lin Youyong impatiently waved his hand, saying, "Dismiss."

Previously, Lin Youyong hadn’t thought much of Xiang Yu and his team, considering them just a group of small-time troublemakers.

Organizing an alliance to campaign against Xiang Yu was laughable; this group of hoodlums could be dealt with easily.

Meanwhile, at Long Wu’s temporary command post, a communications soldier hurried over and reported, "Commander, everyone is in position, just awaiting your order."

"Good, order them to begin attacking, fight fiercely," Long Wu ordered.

The communications soldier responded, then quickly ran off.

Just when Wolf Fang’s forces were attacking fiercely, a troop approached their flank.

Because Wolf Fang’s men were positioned on the plains, completely exposed in the wilderness, this flanking force caught them by surprise.

"Everyone, fix bayonets," the City Guard Army’s captain saw the southern reinforcements arriving, and glimpsed the dawn of a counterattack.

Long Wu was at the front line too, holding a large machete, looking valiant and strikingly beautiful.

"City Guard Army, Self-Defense Force, all reserves, listen up, fix bayonets, charge!" Long Wu shouted, then ran ahead wielding her blade.

Xi’er was shocked; she had never seen Long Wu so bold.

All the passionate men on the battlefield were even more crazed; they all shouted loudly, then began charging with abandon.

The flanking forces saw the main force charging, they too threw caution to the wind and began their charge.

Wolf Fang’s forces were caught off guard; their first reaction was to retreat.

But the flanking force scattered their retreating path.

"What’s going on, why are there enemies on the flank, where are those COM bastards?" someone shouted.

Just as the words left his mouth, a bullet struck his forehead.

In battle, it’s all about momentum; now, with Long Wu leading, their morale was high, pressing down on Wolf Fang’s forces like a giant mountain.

Wolf Fang’s armored vehicles were ineffective at close range; the crew disembarked to join the melee.

This group of Wolf Fang soldiers was deep in enemy territory, with no support from the rear, and no word from the flank, and hence panicked first.

"Retreat, retreat immediately," Wolf Fang’s commanding major shouted.

But retreat was no longer possible; Xiang Yu’s forces charged forward like madmen.

In the melee, a single person in tight black clothing, wielding a large sword, charged through.

That person was Long Wu, and the guard soldiers worried for her safety, keeping close by.

But Long Wu’s demonstrated strength left them astonished.

Long Wu’s face was covered in blood, displaying none of her usual graceful demeanor.

As the soldiers went into complete rout, Wolf Fang’s forces lost all combat ability; they cast aside everything, turning on their heels to flee.

"Charge." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Long Wu gasped and shouted.

The City Guard Army pursued with all its might; after days of constant retreat, they could finally hold their heads high.

Meanwhile, in Lin Youyong’s command room, he was shocked.

"What did you say, the front line is in danger?" Lin Youyong incredulously grasped the man’s collar, saying, "Impossible, our troop quality is high, and our weapons are excellent; how could there be danger? What’s happening?"

"The enemy attacked from the flank, wielding large swords, engaging in melee with our frontline brothers. As you know, we aren’t equipped for close combat, so we’ve suffered losses."

"Damn it, damn it all, what era is this, and they’re still engaging in melee? Are they idiots?" Lin Youyong yelled furiously...
