Chapter 2018: Chapter 2119: Long-Awaited Arrival

After the war, Sun City became a wasteland, very desolate, while Lieyun City was much better; basic structures still remained intact overall.

The day after the war, Xi’er heard Xiang Yu was in Sun City, so she drove there.

Although the fighting lasted less than a week, Xiang Yu looked much thinner.

Xi’er said somewhat wistfully, "Chief, you should rest more."

Xiang Yu smiled faintly without saying a word.

Xi’er hesitated for a moment, but still said, "Now the people all want to see you. You are their spiritual support. After seeing you, they will feel at ease. There’s a rumor spreading among them saying you’ve already left here and won’t care for them anymore."

Xiang Yu sighed and said, "You decide the time and place, just let me know when everything is arranged."

Xi’er quickly nodded and said, "How about this afternoon? Now that the war is over, people urgently need spiritual support. Only by seeing you can they live peacefully."

Xiang Yu nodded and didn’t speak, clearly agreeing.

Seeing Xiang Yu so exhausted, Xi’er felt very conflicted inside.

Back then she promised Long Wu she would take good care of Xiang Yu, but she failed.

Xi’er resolved secretly that she would take on the heavy responsibility of urban development and help shoulder Xiang Yu’s burdens.

Just as Xi’er left, Tie Zhuzi quietly came to stand by Xiang Yu’s side, and neither of them spoke.

About ten minutes later, Tie Zhuzi’s phone suddenly rang. He picked it up to take a look, then walked away.

"Zhuzi, where are you with Brother?" Xiaoxuan’s voice sounded a bit anxious.

"Are you back?" Tie Zhuzi asked.

"Yeah, I’m back."

Tie Zhuzi gave Xiaoxuan the location and then hung up. He came to Xiang Yu’s side and said, "Xiaoxuan is back."

Xiang Yu nodded but did not speak, his face unusually calm as if lost in thought.

About half an hour later, Xiaoxuan hurriedly approached Xiang Yu. Upon seeing Tie Zhuzi with an empty sleeve, his heart couldn’t help but ache again.

Tie Zhuzi didn’t want to see Xiang Yu upset, so he walked over to sit on a piece of rubble.

"Brother..."

Xiaoxuan called out, his eyes already red before he could speak. He felt very guilty for not being with Xiang Yu during the most critical moment.

"I’m sorry, Brother. I’m back late." Xiaoxuan apologized.

Xiang Yu shook his head and smiled faintly, "How’s Long Wu?"

As he asked the question, Xiang Yu’s heart trembled. He so hoped to hear news of Long Wu suddenly waking up.

"Still in a coma," Xiaoxuan replied bluntly.

Xiang Yu sighed. It seemed a miracle had not occurred.

"But Brother, don’t worry, Liu Yuhang has already said that though she’s not awake yet, there’s no immediate danger to her life. He’s contacting doctors worldwide to devise a way to save Sister Long Wu." Xiaoxuan explained.

Xiang Yu nodded and didn’t ask further questions. He trusted Liu Yuhang’s medical skills. If even he couldn’t do anything, then what would be the point of contacting others?

"Zhuzi, Xiaoxuan, there’s something I need to assign to you both." Xiang Yu suddenly said.

When Tie Zhuzi heard Xiang Yu had something to say, he hurried over, standing opposite Xiang Yu with Xiaoxuan.

"Now Sun City and Lieyun City have suffered severe damage. You both need to focus on restoring the city reconstruction work. I’ll call Sun Bo to send more people over." Xiang Yu said.

After listening, Xiaoxuan looked anxious, "Brother, where are you going?"

"Long Wu is in Xiaoba now, and I need to go see her." Xiang Yu said firmly.

"I’ll go with you." Xiaoxuan immediately offered.

For Xiang Yu, Xiaoxuan had rushed back from Xiaoba, yet now Xiang Yu wanted to go to Xiaoba. He regretted coming back.

Tie Zhuzi also wanted to speak but was stopped by Xiang Yu raising his hand, "Sun City and Lieyun City are very chaotic now. You two need to ensure stability here. I’m worried Xi’er might not be able to handle it alone. With Wolf Fang and COM done attacking for a while, just maintain stability and keep developing the city."

As Xiaoxuan still wanted to speak, Tie Zhuzi quickly pulled him over, "Brother Yu, don’t worry. With me and Xiaoxuan here, nothing will go wrong."

Xiang Yu smiled in relief, seeing Tie Zhuzi had grown after commanding in this war. He was no longer just a brawny fighter.

"Let’s go, to Lieyun City." Xiang Yu said, then turned and walked away.

Xiaoxuan followed behind, then looked at Tie Zhuzi and asked, "Why did you stop me from speaking?"

"Brother Yu is already very tired; don’t cause more trouble." Tie Zhuzi whispered.

"When did I cause trouble? If Brother Yu goes back alone, what if he encounters danger?" Xiaoxuan said unhappily.

Seeing Xiaoxuan’s anger, Tie Zhuzi patted his shoulder, "Trust Brother Yu. Since he decided this way, there must be a deep reason. Maybe he doesn’t want us to see him upset."

Xiaoxuan looked at Tie Zhuzi with some surprise, hardly believing he could say such words.

"What are you looking at? Know what the word ’growth’ means?" Tie Zhuzi said, then strode forward to catch up with Xiang Yu.

Xiaoxuan smiled knowingly from behind, then followed forward.

At 1:40 PM, over ten thousand people gathered in a conference venue in Lieyun City, surrounded by City Guard Army and self-defense teams maintaining order.

"You all don’t know, the chief has already left; he won’t care about us anymore."

"Nonsense, back when Sun City was still a slum, the chief didn’t give up. How could he give up now? He’s our hope, and he will never leave."

"I heard the chief’s been injured and went somewhere else to recover, so he won’t be back soon."

In the crowd of over ten thousand people, everyone was discussing the snippets of information they had gathered. Some people cried upon hearing Xiang Yu was injured.

When it turned two o’clock, everyone became silent, their eyes focused on the podium, wanting to see for themselves whether their chief was still here.

The venue was eerily quiet, with only the occasional sound of a child’s cry.

The minutes ticked by, their nerves becoming increasingly tense. They wished so much that the chief would suddenly appear.

Ten minutes passed, and for them, these ten minutes felt everlasting.

At 2:15, Xi’er appeared on the podium.

Everyone’s nerves tightened, wanting to hear what Xi’er would say. Some women couldn’t withstand the pressure and lay in their husbands’ arms.

Some elderly people wept silently with their canes. What they most wanted to see now was the city’s future, was the children’s hope for their future. But now they felt despair.

"I’m sorry, folks. We wasted some time earlier discussing. Now, please welcome our chief to the stage." Xi’er’s voice was loud and charged with deep emotion...
