Valerian, The Legendary
Chapter 409: Into The Storm.
Five years have passed since that courtroom meeting, and the Vita Allied Forces have changed completely. The soldiers were not on the edge anymore. They were alert to react but not worried about their skills.
Valerian had gone back to the Avarium and led a team of people to clear the dungeon. These people were the experts from Vita. They cleared the dungeon floors and gained a lot of experience. The people were mainly the commoners. As they braved dangers, they grew stronger. The young prince cleared the dungeon one more time, and this time, he asked for the dungeons to be connected with the world of Vita, but there were no changes in the rules.
The dungeons became a place where people vented all their frustrations and gained riches. The worldโs progress skyrocketed from this action taken by Valerian. However, the magical were not allowed to enter the dungeon; they would become significantly weak once they lost their magical abilities.
The magical council took this decision after they lost a few people. The world was out of the underlying panic, and the people were advancing in all fields of life. The war council was constantly coming up with ways to deal with the threat of the demons, and they developed many new weapons.
One thing that surprised people was that a young girl headed the council. This girl was Valerie. Valerian, Solaris, and the Pointiaf nominated her. The reason was the ideas this girl would come upon now and then. As the saying goes, a king did not need to fight the war; he just needed to tell his general to bring back victory.
No one in the council was expecting this young girl to fight. However, gradually, they all respected her immensely. The magical species knew that there was something special with this girl because the Pointiaf was willing to lower her stature to her. Similarly, the humans revered Solaris. They could not understand why the lady lowered her head so much to a child.
They had prepared everything that they could. Today, Valerian and Fortuna returned to the Eastern Coast to take charge of the guard duty. The people had developed a systematic method to keep watch over the eastern coast, which was dubbed the Contact Region.
The people from the eastern continent had all retreated to the central regions, and the coastlines had been transformed into strategic battle points. Valerian sat on the ground as he watched the troops swap duties. Fortuna stood beside him and asked, "What is it? You are quieter than usual?"
Valerian did not reply immediately and said, "I donโt know how to put it in words, but whenever I take charge of duty here, my heart is uneasy. I wish to charge into the demon realm and beat the shit out of them."
Fortuna smiled and said, "You and me both. Over the years, we all have tried our best to relieve the stress, but ask a soldier who stands guard here, thinking that the next moment, a world-changing battle may erupt. I wonder if these men and women have nerves of steel."
Valerian shrugged and sighed. The two of them accompanied each other in silence when suddenly, Fortuna took out a soul communication bead. She heard the message, and her eyes widened. She looked at Valerian, who stood up and took out a spear, and said, "Fortuna, I think the war is on."
He was gazing at the horizon, where a beam of black light connected the land and the sky. The beasts in the surroundings became agitated. The dragon queen said, "Solaris contacted me. She said it will take a few hours before the portal is connected."
Valerian nodded and said, "Letโs go, we arrange things."
Fortuna jumped off the cliff and flew straight to the front to organize the forces. Valerian followed her with a pair of wind-magic wings materializing behind his back. They arrived at the front and found the soldiers panicked and anxious like ants. Valerian infused mana in his throat and said, "Listen up! Calm down, and the battle is not breaking out just yet. Get a grip, men! You all have been training for years just for this very moment. If you act so anxious and drop the ball in the decisive moment, will it be worth struggling against fate?
Think of the people back home. Think about them and tell me, what would happen if you lose yourself? If you are to die, then die fighting to protect those you love and value. Do not act like a coward and bring shame to the humans. Do you hear me?"
His voice spread through the front, and all the soldiers calmed down. Valerian watched the effect and turned to look at Fortuna. The lady said, "I will summon all the magical warriors."
Valerian nodded and then landed on the ground to look at the commanders who had rushed to the front and said, "Arrange the formations. There should be no mistakes."
The commanders saluted him, and they left to finish the arrangements. Valerian flew high in the void, headed to the edge of the battlefront. The War Council did not intend to allow the Demons to lay waste to the entire world as their battlefield. Also, a vital part of their strategy was the light dome they had prepared to deal with the enemy. ๐ณ๐๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐๐ป๐ผ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฅ.๐๐๐ฆ
This dome will allow them to use the dragon treasure and find their names. Then, the scouts will pass the name to the humans or the magical troops on the ground. This way, the sealing ritual will commence soon and deal with the enemy quickly. He looked at the big structure installed with massive wheels and said, "General Yowan."
The old dwarf responsible for looking after this dome was General Yowan. He saw Valerian and rushed over. He saluted and said, "Your Highness."
Valerian nodded and said, "Have the dome installed. Time for battle is upon us."
Yowan nodded, and the preparations began. The magical and humans came together to fight the biggest threat to their world. Valerian and the rest of the experts stood at the forefront.
Fortuna transformed in her Dragon form and asked Valerian to stand on her forehead. Everyone cast their gaze at him. They were looking at him to be their leader. Valerian took a deep breath and said, "I do not know what makes you look up to me. However, I know one thing: in this war, I am willing to put my life on the line for the sake of my family.
Yes, I know that the threat is not limited to them, but to me, they are my world. We are not facing this storm to save one world but many worlds that matter to each of us. For this cause, I am willing to venture into the eye of the storm, and I ask you all. Are you willing to head forth with me?"
Libra, The Emperor of Lumen, Valerianโs uncle, stepped forward and drew his sword. He said, "Into the storm!"
His war cry sent waves, and the soldiers cheered behind him, "Into The Storm! Into The Storm!"
...
The End.
