Venerable Demon Chef
Chapter 281 - 278: It Has Come After All
"Nangong An!"
A cold glint flashed in Liu Hui’s eyes, his killing intent completely undisguised.
If you had to ask who hated Nangong An the most, who wanted him dead more than anyone, it would have to be Liu Hui.
He carried an irreconcilable hatred for the man who had murdered his parents.
Sensing the violent fluctuations in Liu Hui’s emotions, Nangong Yan squeezed his hand, trying to comfort him.
Nangong Yi frowned, staring coldly at Nangong An.
"Why are you here? Didn’t the clan elders already decide to have you go to the ancestral lands and face the wall in repentance for ten years?"
Nangong An’s face was full of contempt. "The ancestral lands? Face the wall? No need for that anymore!"
"Nangong An, are you trying to rebel?" Nangong Yi slammed his hand on the table and roared.
"Rebel?" Nangong An sneered, the disdain on his face growing even stronger. "You underestimate me. Forget this paltry Nangong Family; from this day forward, I won’t even give the Mountain and Sea Empire a second thought."
Nangong Yi was shocked. ’Has Nangong An lost his mind today? To say something so utterly treasonous!’
"How dare you! Nangong An, do you have any idea what you’re saying?"
"I don’t need you to remind me. I know exactly what I’m saying, and I can even be a little clearer."
"The Mountain and Sea Empire can no longer restrain me, and I look down on the Nangong Family even more. My future is far beyond what any of you can possibly imagine!"
’He’s gone mad! Utterly mad! Nangong An has lost his mind!’
That was everyone’s first reaction.
"If you look down on our Nangong Family, then why have you returned?" Nangong Yi asked.
Nangong An’s gaze fell upon Nangong Yan.
"I don’t care what happens to the rest of them, but Nangong Yan must come with me. As for you..."
He turned to look at Liu Hui.
"You must die!"
"Insolent!" Nangong Yi roared, unleashing the full aura of his Void Realm cultivation.
The entire house instantly vanished, turning to dust amidst the tyrannical wave of Energy.
"To think you still have designs on Yan’er, even now! You deserve to die!"
Nangong An was unmoved, merely sneering. "Don’t misunderstand. I have no interest in your daughter. Someone else does. And you should understand who *that person* is."
Nangong Yi’s expression changed. ’Could it be... Don’t tell me someone from the Hall of Envoys has come?’
’But didn’t they just come eleven years ago? Why are they here again?!’
Considering Nangong An’s outrageously arrogant words and attitude, Nangong Yi knew it was almost certainly true.
Seeing the shock and unwillingness on Nangong Yi’s face, Nangong An felt a surge of pure delight.
All the frustration he had suppressed over the past few days evaporated.
"Nangong An, you won’t take Yan’er, and you certainly won’t take my life!" Liu Hui activated his Dragon Transformation, shielding Nangong Yan behind him.
"Hahaha!"
Nangong An roared with laughter, as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.
"Just you? What I want to do now, not even you—no, no one in the entire Mountain and Sea Empire has the power to stop me!"
After latching onto a major figure from the Hall of Envoys—especially after that figure had recently sought him out and promised him a mountain of benefits—Nangong An had become fearless and unrestrained.
’To hell with the Nangong Family!’
’To hell with the Mountain and Sea Empire!’
’I’m done with all of you!’
"I say, old bastard, you’re posturing and bragging again. Have you forgotten the fear of being dominated by my old man?" Qian Duoduo asked with a raised eyebrow and a smarmy, taunting tone.
Nangong An’s proud expression instantly darkened.
Of course, he hadn’t forgotten the scene of Qian Juduo crushing people with his wealth, and he certainly hadn’t forgotten his own pathetic state when he was forced to submit.
"Qian Duoduo, don’t you get arrogant! Sooner or later, I will make the Qian Family pay!"
Qian Duoduo smiled and, with a sharp SNAP, snapped his fingers.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Three figures appeared abruptly, surrounding Nangong An in a triangular formation. The aura of each was no weaker than his own.
That’s right—three Void Realm Guards!
This was a privilege granted to Qian Duoduo by the Qian Family elders. It came after his talent returned and after the incident with the thousands of Void Realm experts, all at Qian Juduo’s strong insistence.
Even Li Shimu, back when he was still a Prince and had not yet ascended the throne, had never enjoyed such treatment.
"Make the Qian Family pay? I’m afraid you don’t carry enough weight for that," Qian Duoduo said with a beaming smile.
"Heh!" Faced with the encirclement of three Void Realm experts, Nangong An showed no fear. His expression as he looked at Qian Duoduo was filled with mockery and ridicule.
’You people know nothing about my current circumstances!’
Just then, an overwhelmingly powerful aura that far surpassed the Void Realm descended from the heavens.
It was majestic and imposing, yet as ethereal and elusive as a phantom; unfathomable, yet it made everyone feel a tangible, immense pressure.
It was a form of transcendence and suppression from a higher Realm—incomprehensible, yet deeply and inexplicably felt.
It made one subconsciously want to bow down in worship.
"And with me, is it enough?"
A calm voice spoke.
But that voice alone was like a heavy blow to the three experts surrounding Nangong An. They grunted in unison and retreated repeatedly, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths, their faces pale.
Clearly, they were seriously injured.
Hearing this voice, Nangong Yi felt as if all his strength had been drained, and he collapsed into his chair.
He murmured softly, "So it has come after all."
That single phrase, carrying both a sense of finality and disbelief, made Nangong Yi seem so powerless and pale in that moment.
Qian Duoduo’s smile vanished, his expression turning exceptionally grim. He secretly crushed the Help Talisman that Qian Juduo had given him.
Liu Hui took a deep breath and exchanged a look with Nangong Yan.
In each other’s eyes, they both saw the resolve to face life and death together.
An ordinary-looking, middle-aged man appeared in midair. He walked on nothing, each step landing on empty space as if supported by invisible stairs, allowing him to descend with leisurely grace.
’What terrifying control!’
"Nangong An pays his respects, My Lord."
Nangong An immediately fell to his knees, pressing his forehead to the ground.
"Rise," the middle-aged man said with a casual wave of his hand.
"Thank you, My Lord." Nangong An rose, unable to stop a joyful smile from spreading across his face.
"Duoduo, go! This man has likely touched the threshold of a Demi-Immortal! We are no match for him!" the three Void Realm experts of the Qian Family transmitted mentally, all while struggling to suppress their injuries.
Qian Duoduo was stunned. ’A Demi-Immortal?! When did the Empire produce such an expert!’
’Wait!’
’He thought of something. Could he be from *that* place?!’
’This is bad!’
’If that’s really the case, then calling the old man here won’t do any good.’
’No! I have to think of another way!’
With an impassive expression, Qian Duoduo took out two Array Plates and stuffed one into Liu Hui’s hand and the other into Nangong Yan’s. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"This is an instantaneous Teleportation Array! It will randomly send you hundreds of miles away. Go, quickly!"
"What about you?" Liu Hui asked with a frown.
"I’m of the Qian Family’s Direct Lineage; they won’t dare touch me! You two, go!" Qian Duoduo urged.
"Thank you, Brother Qian!"
It was only at this moment that Liu Hui truly accepted Qian Duoduo as his brother.
However, just as he and Nangong Yan were about to crush the Array Plates, an irresistible force enveloped them, rendering them completely immobile.
"I haven’t given anyone permission to leave, so no one is leaving," the middle-aged man said, looking over with a smile. But deep within that smile was an unconcealable sense of mockery and contempt.
