Ning Xiu was speechless.

"They went out on a mission!"

Jiang Yunnuan replied casually, with no intention of telling him about her Contract Termination with Jun Yao or Si Xie’s disappearance.

At her words, a flicker of movement crossed Ning Xiu’s dark eyes. An instant later, he pretended to lose his balance and stumbled toward her.

"My apologies, Miss Jiang. My injuries are too severe... I’m feeling dizzy and nauseous, and I’m too weak to stand. Could you help me back to my room?"

He clutched his forehead with one hand, looking incredibly uncomfortable. ’His acting is surprisingly convincing!’

A light, sweet scent suddenly filled his nostrils. He paused for a moment, then instinctively took a deeper sniff. ’What brand of body wash does she use?’ he wondered dimly. ’It smells pretty good.’

’When I get back, I’ll have Wanwan switch to it.’

"Oh, alright then!"

Jiang Yunnuan helped him up and struggled toward his room.

’Damn, this guy is heavy. Helping him is no different from lugging a pig around.’

She used all her strength just to get him back to the room. But as she was about to let go, her foot was tripped, and they both tumbled onto the bed.

Her head knocked hard against his chin. Jiang Yunnuan rubbed her forehead and glared at him, annoyed.

"Why did you trip me?"
