[VRMMO] Dead One
Chapter 745 - 746 – Forgotten Fragment - Forgotten Toy Workshop.
"Okay... I can now kind of see how this dungeon could be problematic." – said Rampage as she lifted up her great shield, defending herself against a giant doll arm, which was launched by the massive mass of the toy parts and mountain of flesh.
[Discarded And Forgotten – Level 500]
"So they just combine over and over again with each death, even the new ones, to create stronger variants each time?" – said Rampage as she unleashed [Blood Eruption], blowing herself up with her own bloody, which knocked back the creature, before then firing off [Blood Puke] from her mouth, covering the giant with corrupted liquid and applying several debuffs, before then going for the [Lance Art: Thrust Rush], which instantly caused the heavily armored vampire to go through the monster’s entire body, which finished off the pile of flesh and toys.
"..."
"It still moving after dying." – said Oron.
"I think it maybe searching for the other corpse to fuse with?" – said Oron as in the next moment Shri giant cobra spit acid all over the toys remains, trying to destroy them.... However, they were eliminated.
"What the fuck? Are their corpse indestructible?" – said annoyed Shri.
"Let’s just wait few moments." – said Oron as the group waited around the corpse of the Discarded And Forgotten, which then started slowing down before then completely stopping moving.... After even more time passed, the remains of the corpse started turning into a black dust.
"So that is the deal, huh?" - said Howl.
"I guess the corpses have a time limit for how long they can stay here.... But they can still somewhat at the beginning... I guess as long as they fuse once, they can revive."
"And each time do revive, then we will have to deal with bigger and bigger monster." – said Swim.
"But is it based on how many corpses fuse together? Or what exactly fuses? For example, the weak variants can only make medium variant and medium variant can only make strong variant kind of deal?"
"We will get better understanding once we go deeper in." – said Oron.
"But still, this can be bit annoying later on."
"We can straight up have a monsters, which is then fallowed up by elite wave of monsters and then boss monsters, before then some sort of elite boss monsters... And in the end, all mashed up together to create some sort of raid boss."
"So far, we didn’t had any problem here... But should we play it safe or something?"
"It seems the best play here would be to separate the monsters away from each other to prevent the fusion revival."
"Hm... Sounds good." – said Lil.
"...."
"?"
"Hey... Is something wrong Ampi?" – asked Lil as she noticed Ampi looking at the wall of broken toy parts.
"..."
"Isn’t thins... Porcelain?" – said Ampi as she pointed at the doll parts on the wall.
"?"
"What are you talking about?" – asked Wretch.
"No, I mean, look here." – said Ampi as she gave signal for the group to come closer.
"This right here is a straight up parts of the porcelain doll."
"My grandma liked collecting them, so I know how they look."
"..."
"Do you have a lead?" – asked GreyHunt as he approached the demonic lich goblin.
"Y-yeah.... I think?" – replied Ampi.
"If I remember correctly... Porcelain dolls came to be... Like 1800? Maybe somewhere 1850? I don’t remember exact time."
"But I know they are not something ancient."
"...Are you saying that this Forgotten Fragment maybe related to times close to modern?" – asked GreyHunt.
"I guess so?" – said Ampi.
"..."
(If that is the case... Then what are we talking about here?) – thought GreyHunt as he took a closer look at the wall.
(The toys look... Quiet old.)
(They don’t look one bit like modern toys.)
(Before we dealt with some ancient stuff, like the....)
"..."
"Wait a fucking second." – said GreyHunt.
"Question...."
"How old are white dresses? The weeding ones?"
"?"
"What are you talking about?" – asked confused Shri.
"The Forgotten Bride." – said GreyHunt.
"She was wearing a white wedding dress, wasn’t she?"
"When did those things became common?"
"!"
"Oh shit... You are right." - said Wretch.
"They are not ancient.... Are they medieval?" – asked Lil.
"Nah... I don’t think they are THAT old." – replied Swim.
".... We need to check this later on."
"But anyway, let’s not go off the tracks now."
"You said that the porcelain dolls came to be like in 18th? Right?"
"I think so?" – replied Ampi.
"..."
"But are there any mythological legends and what not that could be related to those?"
"..."
"Maybe stories?" – said Shri.
"Weren’t the legends of the king Arthur a story?"
"..."
"So like classic stories..." – said Lil.
"..."
"Pinocchio?"
"Hm... Yeah... That would somewhat fit the toy vibe here.... But wouldn’t that be way too easy of an answer here?" – said GreyHunt.
"Let’s just continue and gather more information."
"Once we have somewhat good picture, let’s then try to form a picture before we will do any boss battle, okay?"
"If you understand that, the move out."
"..."
<<Honestly speaking... The dungeon wasn’t really that hard?>>
<<GreyHunt speaking here.>>
<<We tried testing out the gimmick of this dungeon... And it was pretty much like this.>>
<<The new Discarded And Forgotten that are born depends on the number of corpses as well as the power of the used up corpse.>>
<<It doesn’t seems to be any form of limit on how many times the fusion can happened, however it is not instant.>>
<<Corpses will try to fuse as many parts as possible before then giving birth to the new monster.>>
<<There seems to be also a thing where a specific corpse needs to absorb X amount of corpse value in order to give birth to the stronger monster.>>
<<For example, corpse needs fusion of 2 strong monsters, or 1 strong monsters and 3 weak monsters.>>
<<Just 1 strong monster and 1 weak monster won’t work.>>
<<You can also somewhat prevent the revival by just spawning knockbacks, making sure that the corpses die nowhere near each other, so they wouldn’t get to each other in time before they start dying off.>>
<<This process however isn’t exactly easy.>>
<<Simple put, the weak ones can die way too easily, which in turn causes stronger bastards to almost instantly pop up.>>
<<The enemy wave swarms you with weak monsters at first, so preventing revival at that point is quiet hard.>>
<<The other annoying fact is number of attacks.>>
<<The revived enemy doesn’t really obtain any special ability, expect for the stat increase with each revival.>>
<<However, they also get extra limbs each time, and each time the body grows, then so does the limbs’ size.>>
<<In short, a fat ass is born with countless big ass limbs it can just throw around.>>
<<Honestly speaking, this dungeon looks easy, but probably players with level 500 will be wiped out instantly, even though they too should be able to one shot the weak monsters.... And same may goes for the players with level 600.>>
<<...But us?>>
<<Well... We have no freaking problem.>>
<<Let me rephase that.>>
<<Average player will die here.>>
<<Somewhat pro player can survive here if they play smart and maybe reach the end of the dungeon.>>
<<But us? We just screw everything up.>>
<<With our new evolutions we are straight up behemoths on the battlefield.>>
<<Heck. We even let one group revive to the upper limit until they straight up became a boss monster.>>
<<But we were able to wreck them.>>
<<Btw, they give EXP, I mean after each revival the amount of EXP given to us only gets bigger.>>
<<...>>
<<Honestly speaking... This feels way too easy.>>
<<I mean, after we had formed the empire, we can just abuse our position to obtain materials, quests and what not easily.>>
<<Hell, these two fuckers not only had a full on race change, but they also obtained freaking 2 race evolutions with ease thanks to their massive stats.>>
<<And us all got evolved to the upper limit as much as possible.>>
<<Honestly speaking, I don’t think we may had even needed half of us in that dungeon to beat this place.... But then again, we didn’t knew if the "Benefactor" would somehow magically appear here or not.>>
<<So better safe than sorry.>>
<<...Then again... We need to be here personally to find out the truth regarding this dungeon.>>
<<So far, this dungeon seems to be a multi floor dungeon.>>
<<Changes between floor... Well, on the second floor there were sometimes the stronger already revived version of the weaker variants and the sheer number of enemies have increased.>>
<<But we still were able to progress further with ease.>>
<<The third floor had the same type of change... But again, nothing was stopping us.>>
<<Not for the info.>>
<<We didn’t found anything... Yet at least.>>
<<The only lead we have are toys.>>
<<We had taken some photos and what not, while also taking some notes regarding the dungeon design.>>
<<Specifically of the toys.>>
<<These toys looked "old", meaning we may have some means of pin pointing the exact time period which they came from.>>
<<Beside that... Pretty much we found nothing at all.>>
<<This dungeon didn’t had "that" room... Which did made the whole situation extremely annoying.>>
<<....However, we noticed something as we went deeper and deeper.>>
<<The floors... Well, after each floor, the atmosphere became way creepier.>>
<<Like in horror games or movies kind of horror.>>
<<Sound of crying children and what not could be heard, or just some sort of faint screams.>>
<<A straight up what it appears to be "murdered" toys being attached to the walls... It got creepier and creepier as we went down.... And then on the fifth floor we found it.>>
<<The boss room.>>
