Chapter 273: Pass the Ketchup

"How sure are you that you can transfer between worlds?" Saige asked, the first one to speak once they got over the glimmer of the crystals. It was a question steeped in strategy, his eyes already narrowed as he was already starting a dozen or so different calculations.

Revenant was the same, but while he was using his knowledge of the future as a crutch, one that often tripped him as he assumed everything would stay its course, Saige calculated based on what he knew for certain.

"One hundred percent. I’ve already tested it a few times myself, got a nice little fortune out of it. Although I wasn’t the first one to think of that idea." Belladonna said pointedly, glancing towards Revenant, before starting to idly play with the crystals as she continued,

"I can transfer anything inorganic to the other world, but I can only do it to myself. That’s why I need the addresses, so I can get it delivered to you. I should be able to get a drone delivery or something, limit the amount of eyes on it and the amount of hands that could swipe them."

"That’s good though, right? I mean if we are supposed to be fighting these monsters that are supposed to be coming to the real world, you can just send over some weapons and-" Figg started, however he was soon interrupted by Saige once again.

"And get arrested?" Saige said with a scoff. "Do you not think they will notice a bunch of weapons being distributed from one source? Even if they don’t know what we are doing with them, they aren’t going to ignore that."

"Saige is right... I got away with selling one spear as an artifact, but more weapons are gonna start raising questions. However, I can still take any you want and keep them on me for when the time comes.

You’ll just have to find something else to practice with for when the time comes." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Figg nodded solemnly, before taking another bite of his burger and letting the delicious flavour wash away the disappointment. He would have to wait till he could have a real sword.

After a few more minutes discussing the different possibilities, as well as planning out how they would distribute the stones and how they should be used. The question of how Belladonna came across this ability was naturally raised by the ever jealous... I mean curious, Revenant.

With a sly smile, Belladonna happily regaled them with the tales of her exploits, deciding to start from the time that she got kidnapped by her very own robot butler. After all, she had a lot to catch them up on, and a lot to inform them of.

She told them of the Monarch Cult, which was the best way to describe that place, and how they were filled with people who were able to use magic, just like they all (or mostly all) could do right now. However she made sure to mention that their techniques for mana gathering were pathetically primitive and sloppy, just like many of their other techniques.

However that would most likely change going forwards, as she told them how Percy remained there to turn his guild into a force of strong fighters to combat the oncoming threat, as well as to teach his families cult how to properly cultivate mana.

As she told that part of the story, Belladonna made sure to take frequent glances towards Revenant, who was wearing a constipated expression as he was forced to swallow down all of this information, and didn’t seem too pleased about it.

She could only assume it had to do something with his time in the future, however he was keeping tight lipped on a lot of the details. However she knew from their past interactions and the small amounts that he had mentioned, that Revenant did not like Percy. For some reason he was convinced that he was the enemy, even though Belladonna could never see Percy doing any of the things that Revenant suggested that he could be capable of. It was just-

"Do you have any ketchup?" Figg asked, snapping everyone out of their thoughts as they listened to Belladonna’s story. He shrunk back as all of their eyes turned to him, their expressions a mix of irritation and disappointment in his idiocy.

"What?" He muttered sheepishly, "I always eat my burgers with some sauce..."

Belladonna sighed and rolled her eyes, reaching into her bag and pulling out a jar of the squished Christmas Ornament looking fruit. It wasn’t exactly ketchup, but it would have to do.

"Here, give this a try." She said, sliding the jar across to him, letting Figg eagerly smear the paste all over his dragon burger before taking another large bite. He practically moaned in delight at that bite, forcing the others to take a scoop of the fruit ketchup themselves and react the same way when they took their bites.

it was also something that Gaia, Lilith’s baby dragon, could actually eat as Lilith spooned it into her hand and let Gaia lick it up eagerly.

Now... where was she... ah yes, kidnapping. Once she finished telling them the details of the Monarch cult, Belladonna quickly reviewed her time with the caravan. She emphasisesd mostly the fact that once she formed her source in the real world, that her body started to rapidly change, until eventually it transformed into resembling her in game race, which led to her unfortunate need of an emergancy snack.

"Thanks again for warning me about that dickhead." Belladonna spat at Revenant, shooting him daggers across the table. However he simply shrugged nonchalantly, the armour of his shamelessness was utterly impenetrable to any attempt of making him feel guilty.

"I thought you knew. You said you formed your source, I could only assume you had transformed. Even if I did, what help could that have really been?"

"Oh I don’t know..." Belladonna said pensively, crossing her arms over her chest and tapping her chin as if she was thinking deeply about it,

"Perhaps it would have given me time to prepare a meal, so that I didn’t EAT SOMEONE! I’m a vampire you dumbass!"

"Pfft, small detail. Besides, you said yourself that everything worked out in the end and that no one died, right?" He replied with another shrug, reinforcing that impenetrable armour even further.

"Yes, I did say that. No one is dead." Belladonna said with a sigh. Which was technically true, as no one was currently dead. Technically, Bai Yin would be classed as the Undead as of the current moment.

Technically correct was the best kind of correct, right? It definitely didn’t count as lying... right? Yeah... Right.
