Chapter 276: The Guild

Belladonna looked over the messages she had received of Figgs and Vestra’s addresses, as the girl had finally pulled herself out of her book long enough to join the conversation once again. However as soon as she read the addresses, she realised quite a glaring issue.

Figg lived in America and Vestra, while she might have been born in England, was residing in Japan. For a team that was supposed to be getting together to slay monsters together, they were quite spread out.

It was lucky enough that the rest of them were in the same country, although that couldn’t really be put down to luck when it came to Lilith, Belladonna and Saige. Still, it left them with a conundrum.

Did they forge on without some of their companions, or hope that they would have enough time to travel before they fought against some horrible beast from another world, or that it happened to be in a convenient place for them all to fly to.

"Heh, I bet the Golden Princes aren’t having this issue." Figg said with a laugh, playing with a few of the crystals that were laying on the table, before looking up and realising that everyone was looking at him strangely.

"You know, that isn’t too bad of an idea." Belladonna said, glancing at the others.

"I agree, plus it gives us an opportunity to train together and work on our coordination, so that we are prepared for whatever may come. Especially if it means training with weapons." Saige agreed with a knowing nod. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"But can we really do that? I might be able to get the travel, but what about a location? Does anyone have an apartment or something big enough? Maybe we could go to the Monarchs place?" Vestra asked, wringing her hands together nervously.

"No idea where it is," Belladonna answered with a shake of her head, "Well... I could ask someone, but going there would create more trouble than its worth. I’ve got a bit of money and I’m sure we could make some more.

No doubt you have plenty to splash out with Corpse Face."

"...I do, and I have even started working on a bunker. It’s not exactly what I envisioned it being used for, but it will do for these purposes." Revenant answered with a grumble.

"Hold on, Hold on." Figg interrupted, waving his hands in the air to catch everyone’s attention. His neck was getting sore from constantly whipping his head back and forth to look at everyone.

"What the hell are you guys talking about? Did I miss something?"

"We’re talking about your idea, obviously, what else?" Revenant spat back, as if he was asking the most obvious and brain dead question in the world.

It was Lilith that finally explained everything with a shake of the head and a soft smile at the cluelessness of those around her.

"I believe that they took your comment on the Golden Princes, as a suggestion to start a guild and gather together in a guild house."

"What? That’s not what I was- We could do that? Just gather up in one place. I know we kinda floated the idea of being a guild way back when, but I didn’t think we were serious." Figg stuttered

"Of course we can. Plus, it actually opens more doors for us. There is an upcoming event that I had put out of my mind, since I never intended to be with enough people for it to happen, but it could be a real boon to us if we can use it in tandem with the real world manifestation.

However that is still at least a month away, so we don’t have time to worry about it. For now, work on getting stronger. In both worlds. You can’t let one get too far ahead of the other, otherwise you will just be wasting time playing catch up.

Remember, we need these bodies to gain access to the higher realms of power and magic, so we can transfer it over to our real bodies. That is the entire purpose of Dawd, so don’t waste it. Are there any questions?" Revenant asked, casting a glaring look over the rest of the party.

Figg gingerly raised his hand, but a moment later Revenant simply slammed his own hand down onto the table and rose from his seat.

"Great, since there are no questions, I will leave. I’ve still got a lot of work to do, even more so now. We can sort out the guild details at a later date. For now, increase your power and go with the flow, as bad as things might seem at first, it is under better control than you will realise." Revenant spoke confidently, as to be expected from someone who had lived through all of it already, even if it was someone who was terrible at predicting so much of the future.

With that said, he quickly turned away from Figg, who still had his hand sheepishly raised, and strolled out of the room leaving the rest of the party behind.

Belladonna leaned over to Figg and subtly whispered to him,

"Yes you can bring your plants." Which caused him to sheepishly lower his hand once again.

"So... now what do we do?" Vestra asked, tapping her hands against the table as she looked between those who remained,

"Do we just go our separate ways and wait for Bell to deliver our crystals?"

"Why don’t we do a little team building instead? Run a dungeon together, I know a popular one nearby!" Figg suggested with a wide smile, perking up in his chair.

"It would be nice to actually work alongside you both. We might have fought the dragon together, but that was more of a mad scramble than a true coordinated effort. If we are going to be risking our lives side by side, it is good to know each other. Especially how they fight, so that we can predict what the others will do without even looking.

It’s ideal for tactical group combat." Saige added with a nod.

"Pfft, way to take the fun out of it." Lilith said with a barely restrained laugh, "How can someone so cute be so robotic?" She added with a giggle, before grabbing his head and starting to rub and smoosh him.

Belladonna laughed at the couple’s weirdness as she swept her hand over the table like she was performing a magic trick. It would have been a great trick too, as the crystals disappeared into her shadow when she waved her hand over them.

"Well then, It’s decided. Let’s go dungeon delving."
