Walker Of The Blue Sky
Chapter 381: Ch : The Coffin & The Corpse
It was a secluded corner of the battlefield, far removed from the chaos, bloodshed, and killings. It was as if no one had come to this place for countless years; it was untouched by destruction or exploration.
A faint mist of silvery light could be seen forming a blurry wall in the air. Emrys was standing silently before a small and unassuming pool.
The pool itself was no larger than 20 inches wide and barely 10 inches deep. Yet, the moment Emrys looked into it, he could feel as though he was looking into the heart of the cosmos.
This pool was filled with silvery water. It was the small pool of Starry Holy Water shimmering with shifting lights like a living galaxy compressed into liquid form.
"I’ve finally found this thing?"
Emrys took a deep breath and sighed inwardly as he looked at the small pool of Starry Holy Water.
It had been more than a month since Emrys’s transformation. Emrys never fought in a battle again. He spent every second looking for the Starry Holy Water. Unfortunately, the battlefield is humongous, and looking for the Starry Holy Water is like trying to search for a needle in an ocean.
The probability of finding the Starry Holy Water in such a vast battlefield was less than 0.0000001%.
In other words: less than one in a billion.
Fortunately, Emrys could observe every bit of the battlefield through his God’s Perspective. Moreover, he could observe tens of thousands of miles in an instant. So, he didn’t need to look for the Starry Holy Water for longer than ten seconds in a radius of tens of thousands of miles.
During this month, he ended up covering almost half of the battlefield looking for the Starry Holy Water, and finally, he ended up arriving at a land untouched by the war between races for perhaps millions of years.
The surroundings and environment here were bizarre, which attracted Emrys’s attention, and he finally found a very small pool of Starry Holy Water.
"I can finally return!"
To be honest, this battlefield was like a gold mine for Emrys. He can quickly grow here and be confident in becoming a Cosmic Field Master before leaving this place.
But he never forgot why he was here.
He wanted to know what the key left behind by Ling Xiaolong was. After all, Ling Xiaolong had stated that he could witness an ’extreme’ with the help of that key.
As for growing stronger, he can do this after officially stepping into the Vast Expanse of Eternity.
Not thinking more, Emrys immediately collected the Starry Holy Water and then thought of returning.
Instantly, a white light flashed and Emrys’s surroundings changed. Emrys found himself back into the white space.
He then left the white space and found himself back, standing in front of the monument.
Emrys didn’t need to look around to feel the difference. He could immediately tell a lot of people had come here. But now, they were nowhere to be seen.
Now that Emrys had gained authority over the Nine Absolute Rules of Eternity and Nine Soul Laws, he immediately sensed an intense spiritual and spatial fluctuation.
As he turned around, a golden light flashed in his pupils and time itself seemed to have stopped. Then, time started flowing backward in his eyes. He watched a group of powerful Spiritas coming here and experimenting with the skeleton of Dark Dragon Soul Beast. They wanted to open the inheritance ground once again, so they spent almost every second researching. In the end, they managed to open a small path to the inheritance ground with the help of a skeleton.
Emrys watched that these people had looked for him as well. It’s just that he had already gone to the Cosmic Battlefield by that time and his body was resting inside the white space. So, they were unable to find him.
Thus, they sent two Spiritas to investigate Emrys. Unfortunately, they didn’t know that investigating Emrys is simply impossible.
After Emrys investigated everything, his eyes flashed again, and time returned to the present.
Emrys’s authority over the Absolute Rule of Space and Time at Level 3 gave him the power to revert the space and time of any Cosmic Field, manipulate it easily, and even go back in time.
However, he could not do the same in the Vast Expanse of Eternity. He could do it perhaps after leveling up his authority above Level 5. But, of course, he could do some small things such as pausing time for a few seconds, freezing space, creating a temporary spatial and temporal prison, and more.
Shaking his head, Emrys no longer wasted time. He immediately activated the power of his "Node Shift" ability.
In the next instant, the entire world around him twisted. It was as if a veil had been lifted, everything transformed into a three-dimensional lattice. In this abstract yet incredibly vivid three-dimensional world, Emrys’s golden pupils darted through countless glowing nodes before locking onto one hidden five thousand meters directly below the monument.
A coffin was buried deep underground.
Without hesitation, he waved his hand.
"Swish!"
The node containing the coffin vanished from its original location and instantly appeared where the monument stood, while the monument was silently transferred five thousand meters underground, occupying the coffin’s original node.
Emrys pulled a little trick and replaced the node where the coffin existed with the node where the monument was located.
Immediately, a pitch-black coffin appeared before Emrys. This coffin was truly too ordinary, with no carvings, no symbols, no inscriptions, and not even a trace of soul force fluctuation.
Emrys didn’t hesitate. He stepped forward and pushed open the coffin.
Creak~
The lid slid open slowly, revealing a handsome man lying peacefully inside. His eyes were shut, lips calm, and expression serene, as if in the middle of a dream. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
He seemed dead, but Emrys frowned.
Something didn’t seem to fit in the situation.
No.
This man wasn’t dead. Or at least, not in the normal sense. While there was no heartbeat, no breath, no movement, his body emitted an overwhelming life force. It was more terrifying than the vitality of a living being. It felt as if this man’s body was preserved in a strange state between life and death.
