Chapter 1022 - 445: The Camp Is Quiet at Night_2
"Guer?! The former Champion?" Laine furrowed his brow.
Mogiana explained Guer’s background to Laine, and the Lake God Witch continued, "Guer’s power is incredibly strong. Not only is it under Kemler’s control, but it’s also constantly influenced by Nagash’s will and magic power. At the same time, it still retains the power of the Chaos Four Gods, so neither your attacks nor Francois’s can harm Guer."
"I remember that Undead Magic and Chaos Magic are entirely different, and the insignia of Chaos can even harm Vampires... Whatever, Chaos never makes sense," Laine finally understood his opponent. The Count exhaled a breath, "I thought Veronica’s Light Magic Riding could deal with it."
"From a certain perspective, the Light Element is indeed a natural enemy of the Undead and Chaos Elements. However, the power on Guer is very special." Mogiana saw the camp was not far away. She first frowned, then continued, "We’ll discuss this later. Laine, tell me, do you have a tent all to yourself?"
"Of course." Laine nodded.
"How big is the tent?" Mogiana took out a green hooded long cloak, wrapped herself in it, and recited a spell that hid her figure from ordinary eyes.
"About twelve square meters. Why?" Laine led Mogiana into the encampment, to the deepest part, where his tent was pitched on solid ground. The tent flaps were thick bearskin, and Laine personally disliked noise, so his tent was naturally placed in the quietest corner.
"That’s good. Let’s discuss inside your tent first."
"Alright."
Passing through the wooden walls and sentries set up by the guards, aided by magic, Mogiana wasn’t noticed by anyone. Laine lifted the flap of his tent and let Mogiana inside.
The Lake God Witch stepped lightly into Laine’s tent. The yellowish magic lamp illuminated the interior, showing a wooden-framed bed, two chairs, a small round table, and a coat rack holding Laine’s warhammer and armor.
"Please sit down. The tent is simple; everything is kept simple during times of war," Laine motioned for Mogiana to sit as he spoke self-deprecatingly, "I feel there’s no need to make things too complicated for a campaign."
"Your tent is indeed quite small within the camp," Mogiana teasingly remarked, "At least Francois’s tent is much larger than yours. Aren’t you the Lady’s Champion, living in such a small tent?"
Laine’s tent had a simple 3x4 size, while his father-in-law Francois’s luxurious large tent measured 5x8, taking up 40 square meters.
The Lake God Witch strolled around inside Laine’s tent, narrowing her eyes as she felt the presence that belonged to Laine. She felt very comfortable and twirled around in the air. Her milky white satin gown lifted in waves, the lace on the skirt swirling up and down. Mogiana sat on the wooden bed Laine slept on, satisfied with her surroundings, "Let me go back and have the Saintess Order make you a better tent."
"There’s no need for that specifically. The purpose of a tent is just to rest and sleep," Laine dragged a chair over and sat across from Mogiana. He attempted to ask, "So how do we deal with Guer? The Undead Chaos Four Gods Champion that’s nearly immune to any harm?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"A ritual." Mogiana saw Laine wasn’t interested, so she stopped talking about it and continued, "I will perform a Great Curse Technique to create an entire cup of potion Holy Water. You will coat your weapons with this Holy Water, and it will temporarily break through Guer’s protection."
"Alright." Laine nodded, then showed some concern, "Your Highness, your magic power hasn’t recovered, has it?"
"Indeed, it hasn’t fully recovered, but this is about protecting the Kingdom. This is the responsibility the Lady has given me. I can’t stand by while the Lady’s lands are overrun by undead filth," Mogiana’s attitude was resolute, "Since neither you nor Francois can break through Guer’s defenses, I will naturally assist you."
"Are you sure your magic power can handle this?"
"It’s fine; it’s merely a matter of needing more rest," Mogiana shook her head.
After a few casual remarks, seeing that Mogiana had no intention of moving, a teasing expression crossed Laine’s face. The Count stood up, pretending to leave, "If that’s the case, I’ll leave you to rest, Your Highness Mogiana."
"Wait! Leave? Where are you going?" Mogiana asked curiously, "Isn’t this your tent?"
"I’m going to find Veronica, please rest well," Laine continued, smiling, "My tent is very small; you staying here will suffice. Two people would feel cramped."
"You’re going to find that Witch with me here?" Sure enough, Mogiana’s expression turned unpleasant, and her azure eyes glinted with a dangerous light, "You’re doing it again? I’m staying here tonight, and you won’t go anywhere this evening."
"Is that an order?" Laine laughed mischievously, embracing Mogiana’s delicate body, and they fell together.
"It’s a condition," Mogiana placed her tiara on the headboard, kicked off her soft boots, and reversed her hold around Laine’s neck, slipping into his embrace, her cheeks slightly red, "It’s also an order. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have come here personally, just because you’re here."
With warmth and softness in his arms, Laine said no more. After the great battle, he too needed a moment to relax.
