What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 25: Journey To the Hall of Dragon Treasury
After settling everything, Tyler left the city at night. The stars shone dimly in the sky, but the moon was clearly bright.
The journey wasn’t going to be easy, but he didn’t plan to walk throughout the night. After nearly three hours of walking, he stopped near a tree.
There were three more trees around this, and they were perfectly in position to make a bed.
He took his hammock, tied it to the trees, and started a small fire next to the tree. He started heating some steaks, rice, and soup.
He had brought this meal specifically because he couldn’t hunt at night.
After eating his food, he went to sleep. Surprisingly, he didn’t encounter anything during the night.
It was also because he was still near the edge of the Star Forest. The path to the Hall of Dragon Treasury needed to be crossed from the Star Forest.
One could go around the forest or clear the way from the middle. Unfortunately, he was only at the Mana Condensation Realm.
So, he didn’t dare to enter the forest.
The next day; 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Tyler woke up, yawning and stretching his arms. For some reason, Tyler felt like he was camping.
He made himself a cup of morning coffee before continuing his journey.
"Green leaves, green bark, green branches, green fruit.....Just how green is this forest?"
Tyler couldn’t help but feel speechless, staring at those trees. At this moment, Tyler was torn.
He wanted to pick up a stick and hum while traveling. But he was also afraid of alerting his enemies.
Ultimately, his childhood dream prevailed as he quickly picked up a stick and started humming.
He had only walked fifteen minutes when he heard several noises coming from the forest. He quickly created some distance, but the sound kept getting louder.
At this moment, he was sure someone was coming his way.
’Damn it!’
Tyler clicked his tongue and prepared himself for the battle, only for him to realize the sound was coming from a creature.
It was a large cat-like creature with a purple tail and yellow fur. It had two strange marks on its cheeks.
One mark looked like lightning while another looked like fire.
"Nee?"
The creature walked in front of him and made a strange noise.
Tyler’s guard lowered upon seeing this cute creature. He had an urge to hold it, but considering the potential danger of a monster beast, he calmed down.
He waved his hand.
"Hello!"
"Nee....Nnnnn!"
The creature walked in front of him and nudged him on his legs. Then, it started producing a weird hum.
It felt like a copy of him.
Tyler looked stunned.
"Hmmm!"
He quickly made the sound he was making before, and the creature slowly cracked a smile, rubbing its head on his leg.
Tyler was quite surprised that he managed to tame this monster beast with his hum.
But this only made him happier. Although it had been eighteen years since his rebirth, he still remembered many of the songs from his previous life.
Of course, it was also because he used to sing them whenever he was taking a bath.
He was a certified bathroom singer.
"Hmmhmhmhmmm!"
His hum started being more melodic, more entwined with the lyrics in his mind.
The creature enjoyed it even more. Tyler didn’t stop his journey, and the creature kept following him.
Suddenly, it jumped and landed on his shoulder. After it landed there, it stayed there.
After nearly ten minutes, Tyler stopped humming as he looked sideways.
He noticed that the creature was already asleep and tried to recognize it.
’It’s quite weird. It does look like a wild cate but its purple tail and yellow skin make it quite different.’
’And those two marks. Fire and lightning! Are they its inherent techniques? Unfortunately, I didn’t know its race.’
’But it was lured by my humming. I don’t think my sound is that good. So, did something else attract it?’
Unfortunately, Tyler couldn’t find an answer. He quietly kept moving towards the Hall of Dragon Treasury.
On the way, he stopped and touched the creature.
In an instant, it opened its eyes and jumped down.
It took a second to rethink its previous position and recognize Tyler. It let out a meow like a cat and ran in front of him, nudging his leg.
Tyler crouched down and said.
"Little guy, you wait here! I need to hunt something to eat."
The cat nodded its head.
"Oh? Can you understand me?"
Tyler was only trying to see if it could understand him. So, he was quite surprised.
"Then, you wait here."
The cat-like creature shook its head and followed Tyler. Soon, they found several beasts.
Most of them were more powerful than Tyler, so he kept looking around, avoiding their senses with the best of his abilities.
Until eventually, he came across a rabbit.
That’s a giant rabbit, though! He used the combination of Instant Step and Sword Drawing Technique to take its head off.
After killing it, he hurriedly placed its body in a bag and then inside the spatial ring before running out of the forest.
Throughout the process, the cat-like creature just watched. It neither helped Tyler nor did it stop him.
Tyler knew the more intelligence they grew, the more united these beasts would become.
At the same time, they would also have their individualistic perception. This creature liked his humming, so it didn’t stop him from hunting for food.
But it also didn’t help since those monsters were related to it.
After he ran out of the forest, he continued walking until he came across a small river.
"Finally, let’s make some food!"
He made fire next to the river, took out the dead body of the rabbit from the rug, cleaned it with river water, and finally took out a pan and seasonings.
He cut the rabbit meat into several smaller chunks and seasoned them properly before putting some butter in the pan.
When the butter melted, he placed the rabbit meat in the pan. Soon, he realized that this meat had a lot of fat.
Of course, he didn’t care. There could never be too much butter on a steak.
After cooking them to the right temperature, he finally placed them on a plate. He looked at the cat-like creature who was watching the meat with drool.
"Alright, this is for you!"
He took out another plate, put some steak on it, and passed it to the creature.
He picked up a piece of steak and put it in his mouth. The flavors blasted in his mouth.
"Delicious! Such a juicy steak!"
Tyler knew this taste wasn’t just due to the seasonings. Its fat and natural flavor elevated the taste of this steak.
"If I knew monster meats would taste this good, I would’ve asked Erena to use their meat for previous meals."
Then, he remembered eating a few extremely tasty meals. At that time, he didn’t ask what those meals were made of.
But now, he believed they were monster meats. After all, this was rabbit meat, but it tasted better than any beef steak he had ever eaten.
"Nee! Nee!"
The cat-like creature was also eating it with pure joy on its face.
Seeing its face, Tyler couldn’t help but speak.
"By the way, I haven’t named you, right? If you are going to follow me, I need to give you a name."
The cat-like creature nodded. It had heard its parents calling it by names, but it had already forgotten its name.
"How about Haku?"
The cat-like creature thought for a moment, turned its head towards its bottom, and raised its head before raising its paw.
Then, it slowly pulled down its other fingers, leaving only its middle finger.
Seeing this, Tyler couldn’t help but widen his eyes in shock.
The cat was giving him a middle finger.
"Where in the world did you learn to do that?"
The cat-like creature turned its head away.
"Alright, alright, then how about Shibyo?"
Only then did the cat-like creature turn its head, lowering its paw, and nod.
"Good! From now on, you will be named Shibyo. By the way, my name is Tyler. I am going to the Hall of Dragon Treasury."
"It will be a dangerous journey. Are you sure you want to come with me?"
Tyler asked.
Shibyo gave him a look from top to bottom before making a disdainful expression.
’How dare you underestimate me with your meager strength?’
Although Tyler didn’t exactly know what it was saying, he could imagine Shibyo looking down on his strength.
Considering how most of the creatures in the Star Forest were stronger than him, he didn’t think Shibyo was being arrogant.
"By the way, did you reject the name Haku because it sounds too girly?"
Tyler asked.
Shibyo nodded.
"So, you are a boy."
Tyler touched his chin and muttered.
"No wonder he looked there."
