What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 43: Profit
So what he had to do was simple.
Reach the peak of the Mana Condensation Realm and stop cultivating!
Considering their ability to wait for billions of years, Tyler wasn’t sure if this strategy would work.
But even if it didn’t, he could at least live a normal life for a hundred years.
So, he wasn’t worried. He was just preparing the possibilities for his cultivation. As for how it would go, heaven knows.
After checking on Elena, Tyler left the room and went outside. It was already evening, so he went directly to Garvin’s office.
Knock! Knock!
"Who is it?" Garvin’s voice came from inside.
"It’s me!"
Tyler shouted.
"Young Master, please enter the room!"
Garvin sounded shocked as he shouted from inside. Tyler could indeed enter the room directly, but he wasn’t sure what Garvin was doing.
Clack!
Upon entering the room, he closed the door and took a seat in front of the table. Behind the table, Garvin had already stood up, but Tyler signaled him to sit down.
"Congratulations, Young Master! Your cultivation has been improving rapidly. My children have barely reached the third level."
Garvin put on a huge smile as he spoke while showing respect and amazement in his eyes.
His children’s techniques were two grades higher than Tyler’s, but they were only at the third level.
And, it wasn’t like he wasn’t supporting them with resources. He had used every bit of resources he could get to increase their cultivation speed.
Even so, they weren’t even close to closing the gap with Tyler.
Tyler nodded and said.
"I am here to talk about those mines. Have you found any information about them?"
Garvin immediately nodded and said.
"Young Master, I have compared all of the incomes of those mines for the last four decades with other mines."
"If we mine faster, the fewer resources we will get the next year. In these four decades, there have been four times, almost every decade, we used to mine five times more."
"Because we only mined once every decade in such frenzy, I didn’t notice the problem until I checked the incomes of other mines."
"It turned out they had mined their mines with similar frenzy, but that would immediately reduce their production within two years or completely shut down the mine five years earlier."
"Out of every mine I compared, three have already been mined completely, while six only have a few years of goods left to mine."
"But there is one big problem, Young Master. No matter how many times I scan this place, the area of the ores scattered around the city has not changed."
"And, it’s not like digging deeper would give better results. I even tried that myself, but below fifty kilometers, there are no ores. So, I can’t find the reason why this is happening."
"But if the war with the Fishman Race is a conspiracy, then our enemies must know the situation."
Hearing that, Tyler nodded and asked.
"Have you consulted the family about this?"
Garvin’s face turned slightly red with embarrassment as he shook his head.
"No, Young Master! You are the manager of this mine. So, I can’t make that decision for you."
Tyler shook his head.
"It’s alright! You did a good job. Until we figure out the actual situation of this mine, don’t let anyone know about this situation."
"By the way, have you met Shibyo and Nezumi?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Garvin paused for a moment and asked.
"Do you mean that cat and mouse duo?"
Tyler nodded.
"Yes, do you think they can find its information?"
Garvin’s face scrunched up as he said.
"I am not sure. If that mouse was at the Soul Sublimation Realm, then it might’ve been possible."
"By the way, that reminds me. How do I cultivate those two?"
Tyler asked.
"There are two methods. Letting them absorb the spirit energy from nature or by devouring other monster beasts. The former is a slow method while the latter is fast."
Hearing that, Tyler looked up in interest and asked.
"How much?"
Garvin immediately understood the meaning behind his words and replied.
"By consuming Rank Two Monster, Nezumi can grow into a Rank Two Monster immediately. But if it wants to make any more improvement, it needs more Rank Two Monsters or a Rank Three Monster."
"Even so, it wouldn’t be enough to reach Rank Three. At least three or five Rank Three Monsters are needed to reach Rank Three."
Tyler nodded.
"I see! The difficulty goes up as the cultivation increases. It’s the same as us. By the way, what about the family? It has been a month since I left. How has it been back home?"
"Everything is normal, Young Master! I got a notification for my return, and I sent them a letter about working under you. Surprisingly, they accepted my decision without any difficulties."
"But I heard Tufan Grant has successfully reached the fourth level within a month. It has caused quite a stir within the clan."
"Of course, compared to you, that cultivation is nothing."
Garvin answered.
Although he was surprised by the family’s decision at first, thinking about Alfred and Elena, their decision made a lot of sense.
Even someone as talented as Tufan didn’t have a peak Treasured Body Realm cultivator as a servant, much less a Soul Sublimation Realm cultivator.
He firmly believed Tyler’s background was far too impressive than the entire Grant Family combined, but for some reason, there was no record of his parents.
They were unknown people from the Grant Family whose strength had only reached the Soul Sublimation Realm.
During Tyler’s birth, they encountered a tragic incident where his mother almost lost her life and was about to lose him.
For his safe delivery, his father transferred his life force into his wife so the baby could be born. Unfortunately, two of them could only live for six years and perished in a battle with a powerful monster.
The entire Grant Family, outside of the elders, believed this fake history because that’s how it was portrayed for them.
Nobody doubted this because nobody believed his father could erase the memories of everyone who knew of them.
"Young Master, should I inform the family about your progress?" Gravin asked.
Tyler raised his hand. He understood why Garvin wanted this. If the family sent some resources, he would get a small cut from that.
Considering Tyler’s talent, that small cut would be more than enough to support his children’s progress.
Unfortunately for him, Tyler shook his head.
"No, I will provide your family with resources. There is no need to tell the family about my current situation. If someone does ask, just tell them I have reached the first level."
"And, based on the month, increase my level by one."
Garvin didn’t understand why Tyler was so fixated on this, but he didn’t question him.
He didn’t know Tyler’s cultivation was going to stop for a while or for a lifetime. Then, he would only support Garvin’s progress to the Soul Sublimation Realm before letting them leave.
Tyler didn’t want to give him a wrong estimate.
"Garvin, tell me more about this city!"
Hearing that, Garvin immediately replied.
"Sir, Coastal City is one of the few developed cities controlled by the Grant Family."
Tyler narrowed his eyes at this comment. He knew that compared to many other mines, the Yellowstone Mine was located in a big city.
Some mines didn’t even have a village around them. That’s because the profit from those mines wasn’t enough to create and sustain a structured city or a village.
The fact that Yellowstone Ore was enough to sustain a big city like this just proved how much they were mining from these mines.
"We produce around a hundred metric tons of Yellowstone Ore per year. Each gram of this ore can be sold for a gold coin, so we earn just over a hundred million gold coins a year."
"I can only keep twenty percent of that profit, so only over twenty million gold coins. From that, fifteen million is spent on the city and workers, so I only get over five million gold coins every year."
Hearing that, Tyler said.
"I can keep up to fifty percent of this mine. From now on, you will keep ten percent of my cut. Use the twenty percent on the city and just give the remaining twenty percent to Alfred."
When Garvin heard that, his heartbeat soared for a moment. Even though he knew he should’ve been expecting this, it was still shocking.
After all, that was fifty million gold coins of profit. And despite no longer being the manager, he was allowed to keep ten million, which was double what he used to get.
While he was shocked about his situation, Tyler was beginning to understand how the family had over several Soul Sublimation Realm cultivators.
After all, just a single Soul Sublimation Realm cultivator would cost over three hundred million gold coins, which was three million spirit stones.
