Next Day;

Tyler woke up and went downstairs to have breakfast. Last night’s conversation with Louis and Lennie gave him a pretty good idea of what to expect from them.

Nothing!

They weren’t serious about choosing those professions. Of course, they didn’t need to consider how much their father was going to earn next.

But they might get motivated by Elena’s enthusiasm. Unfortunately, they didn’t know her enthusiasm was solely based on him.

Because Elena served him from the bottom of her heart, he didn’t need some kind of mind control to make her do whatever he wished.

He could simply ask her to do it, and she would do it. That’s the level of loyalty she had.

And that kind of loyalty was a huge motivation for her to learn about arrays. After all, this was a highly scientific profession.

It required one to understand the very nature of elements, control the input of mana, complete the transformation of energy, and turn all of that into symbols (codes).

Then, finally compile all of those symbols (codes) into one large rune (program), which would be imprinted in a certain device known as the Array Plate.

After imprinting nearly dozens of those runes, one could finally create a straightforward array that would automatically do what it’s supposed to do with just some instructions and mana.

In other words, Array was a software, while Array Plate was a hardware, but Array Masters could use anything, including the ground as a hardware, to run the Array.

So, a normal person could only use an array through an array plate while array masters could do it at any place, including their own bodies.

After all, arrays come with various functions.

Tyler’s idea was to make a storage array that allowed the cultivators to sell their mana. It was almost the same as physical labor, except it required mana instead of stamina.

But he wanted this array to function automatically, making it possible for anyone to use. That’s gonna be the big hurdle for Elena.

That’s also why he didn’t try to learn Array. If he wanted to create a Storage Array, it wouldn’t be a problem.

But if he wanted to make it automatic, he would need extensive knowledge far beyond that of an average array master.

Unfortunately, even an average array master would need to spend months, if not years, to become an average array master.

Thankfully, Elena had a great talent for comprehension. If she tried hard enough, it wouldn’t take her more than a year to become a good array master.

’Putting aside Elena’s work, I need to find more information about those mines.’

Tyler was waiting for Daisy.

Star Plasma Pavilion was one of the biggest organizations in the world. That’s why he was able to access the fourth-grade treasure without any cost.

Even his identity didn’t need any confirmation. They only needed that coin as proof, but he believed that if he wanted the ninth-grade treasure, they would at least check that coin personally.

As usual, he went out for training.

With mana, he didn’t need to constantly consume food to sustain his stamina. So, he was able to train for almost eight hours without stopping.

During this time, nobody disturbed him as he was training his swordsmanship with extreme focus.

After finishing his training, he returned to the mansion. After eight hours, he was finally hungry, especially after that intense training.

Just when he was about to ask Mary for food, he noticed Daisy sitting in the living room.

"Young Master!"

She immediately stood up and greeted him with a bow.

"When did you arrive?"

Tyler looked surprised as he asked.

"Almost four to five hours earlier, you were so engrossed in training that I didn’t dare to disturb you."

Daisy replied with a smile.

She was wearing a light green dress that perfectly covered her body, revealing no extra skin but showing the full charm of her curves.

"Hmm! Mary, get some food ready!"

Tyler nodded and shouted towards the kitchen.

"Yes, Young Master!"

Although he shouted at the kitchen, Mary walked out of her room.

Maybe it was due to Alfred and Elena’s care, he didn’t like maids and butlers serving him. Of course, they considered themselves butler and maid.

But to Tyler, they were a part of a family.

Since Garvin and his family were also a part of his family, he asked Mary to serve him food. She didn’t need to cook if she can’t.

But she had some experience with cooking, so she had already started learning with other maids.

"So, Daisy, did you bring it?"

Tyler asked while sitting at the dinner table.

"Yes, Young Master! I also brought the information you need. Things are a bit complicated."

As soon as she said that, Tyler raised his hand, interrupting her.

"Then, let’s wait until I finish my food."

Soon, Mary served him some gravy with meat and rice.

"Hmm! It’s delicious. Did you use Monster’s meat, Mary?"

"No, Young Master! We only eat monster’s meat once a week. Should I change the schedule?"

Mary paused and asked.

Tyler’s eyes widened.

"Wow! You made such a delicious meat and gravy without using monster’s meat?"

Hearing that, Mary smiled.

"I am glad you like my food, Young Master. Since you suggested, I have been working on my craft."

Tyler nodded as he scooped a large spoonful of rice and gravy and put it in his mouth.

"It’s really good. But Mary, monster’s meat will be more beneficial to us. From today, you can start using monster’s meat in every meal."

"Yes, Young Master!"

Mary nodded.

She knew this would increase their cost of living drastically. Since they were going to eat monster meat, they couldn’t just give normal food to those maids and butler.

They had always shared their food. So, they couldn’t just stop it in the middle.

But she decided to talk to her husband about this.

After finishing his meal, Tyler and Daisy went to his room.

"What about Elena? I haven’t seen her."

"She is learning about arrays."

"Oh! That’s quite a task. Do you need me to arrange a teacher for her?"

Daisy asked.

Tyler shook his head.

"Not now! I want her to learn the basics on her own. If she can’t do that, that means she isn’t meant to be an array master."

"If she can do that, I will invest everything to help her become a high-level array master. So, what about the mine?"

Tyler sat on the bed, and Daisy sat next to him before replying.

"Things are exactly as you suspected."

Her face turned serious as she took out a map of the Red Hog Country. She had circled certain parts with a red marker.

"Only two?"

She nodded.

"Austin Family and Turnip Family! Normally, it would be impossible to figure out their intentions. There are literally no clues about their involvement other than this."

She took out a paper, which showed the receipt, but the items in the receipt weren’t non-living things.

They were human slaves.

Eight thousand slaves!

A strong rage burned in his heart, but Tyler kept it hidden. Although it fueled the darkness within his heart, it didn’t affect his mind.

Daisy spoke with an almost nonchalant manner.

"They have recently bought eight thousand slaves. If they had bought one or two hundred slaves, it would be normal."

"After all, Austin and Turnip Family are known for their cruel work ethics and no moral standards. But eight thousand, that’s too much!"

"If they hadn’t bought so many from the black market, I wouldn’t have gotten this receipt. Black Market’s rule of the highest bidder gets it all helped a lot."

Normal!

If this were a backward world, Tyler wouldn’t have felt surprised. Even his previous world had slavery at one time.

But this world was highly developed. People had managed to combine technology with cultivation.

Unfortunately, this world was ruled by strength.

There were rules, but rules only bound the weak.

He thought about it and realized it wasn’t much different in his previous world, except that strength was replaced by wealth.

Of course, compared to his previous world, this world had a low moral compass.

"So, they have bought eight thousand people to mine this place? Do you think they planned to mine it as much as they can before the Grant Family can shift their attention to this place?"

Tyler asked.

Daisy shook her head and took out another piece of paper. Unlike the previous one, it was a copy of a picture of three people.

Tyler didn’t recognize any of them, so Daisy pointed at the one on the right side who had a cigar in his mouth and wore a blue suit.

"This is the head of the Austin Family. His name is Tracy Austin."

Then, she pointed at the other one wearing a grey suit.

"This is the head of the Turnip Family. His name is Scarlet Turnip."

Finally, she pointed at the last man who was standing in front of them.
