What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 57: Gamble and Tower
The chilling aura disappeared, but there was a strange awkwardness in the room.
"Tsk! Tsk! Isn’t it so exciting? The disciple fucking his master and making love with her."
"Who would’ve thought Blood Sword Empress would do such accept such a taboo?"
A voice rang in his head.
Unlike the previous ones, Elena couldn’t hear this, and he was glad she couldn’t.
After all, the relationship between master and disciples was considered sacred.
’This is troublesome. I was planning on using her reputation to keep this woman in check, but now things have gotten complicated.’
’No, I still have a chance. We don’t have to dual cultivate.’
At this moment, Tyler raised his head and said.
"As long as I reach the seventh level, won’t I be able to release you?"
The sword paused and shook.
"Yes, but not in a way you think. If you want to release anyone from the tower, you must dual cultivate with them."
"The moment this tower imprisoned us, our life-force merged. Unless I can sever this connection without harming you."
At this moment, the temperature in the room got colder as she continued.
"So, I will give you a chance to make a request. This is the only thing I will do for you."
"Either I will become your teacher, or I will use all the power I can muster to prevent her from harming you."
"Choose one!"
Hearing that, Tyler took a deep breath and said.
"If I choose the first option, do I have to dual cultivate with you to let you go?"
Suddenly, he felt an extraordinary pressure on his soul. On the other hand, Elena had already collapsed.
Fortunately, she didn’t have any intentions of harming them, so none of them were injured.
"Either you dual cultivate with me or you surpass me in strength. Since you are innocent about this tower and also helped me improve my strength."
"I will not kill you or sever this bond unless I possess the power to do so without harming you."
Hearing that, Tyler nodded and slammed his head on the floor.
"Teacher!"
The sword shook slightly and asked.
"Aren’t you afraid of her? She might not be as strong as me, but the moment you dual cultivate with her, she will improve."
"Since her life-force has been connected to the tower, without your permission, she can’t leave the tower."
"But that doesn’t mean she won’t be able to kill you."
Hearing that, Tyler replied.
"Unless she agrees to those binding vows, I will not reach the next realm. Teacher, I chose swordsmanship because it is ride or die for me."
"You are very adamant about those binding vows. Are you sure they can hold her back?"
The sword curiously asked.
"Yes, if it can’t, then well, I don’t have any options. It’s a gamble."
Tyler answered.
There was a deep silence between the teacher and the student.
The teacher thought the student had some kind of trump card, but it turned out to be a gamble.
How could someone gamble with their lives?
"Are you sure surprised, teacher?"
Tyler chuckled as he asked.
"I am. I thought you were a smart man. Gambling your life just like that is quite foolish."
The sword replied.
"Teacher, this is really simple. Either she agrees, or I die. Against god-like beings, I can only gamble."
"I would rather die than be a puppet."
"I see!"
The clever teacher suddenly understood his plan and chuckled.
"Did you hear that, bitch? My student never planned to rely on you."
But suddenly, the sword violently shook and said.
"Even if you reach the Treasured Body Realm and access the tower, you won’t be able to control this tower."
"So, self-destruction doesn’t work. At worst, this tower will suffer some damage, but that’s it."
Hearing that, Tyler couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Teacher, can this tower hear me?"
"Of course, it’s sentient enough. If I make a slight move against you, it will do everything in its power to stop me."
"The same goes for other women. So, your thought of self-destruction will not work."
"It will."
Tyler confidently continued.
"Because, teacher, this tower has no other choice. What do you think this tower is? A treasure? An inheritance? A prison?"
The sword paused for quite some time before replying.
"An inheritance!"
Tyler paused.
"Could be! I am not exactly sure. If you believe it’s an inheritance, then it makes more sense for it not to do any harm to itself."
After he said that, the sword didn’t talk for a moment, so Tyler continued.
"Let me give you a simple example. There is a powerful man who has reached the limits of his talent."
"Because he could no longer make any progress, he started gathering resources for his children and family."
"But while doing this, he encounters an enemy who wants to get all of his resources. He knows he can’t win or even survive, so what will he do?"
"And what would he do if he were under a different circumstance? For example, instead of not being able to improve, he could."
"And instead of gathering resources for his children and family, he was gathering resources for himself."
"What choice will he make?"
Hearing his question, the sword remained silent for a moment.
Tyler gave her a chance to think. He didn’t believe she was dumb. Considering her experience, it should be easy to come up with the answer.
And, he wasn’t wrong. After a minute, the sword replied.
"In the first scenario, that person will do everything in his power to run away, hiding those resources for his children even at the cost of his life."
"In the second scenario, that person will fight for his life and choose to self-destruct with his opponent."
Tyler smiled.
That’s exactly what he thought. After all, the first person was a father trying to save resources for his children.
Even if he couldn’t use it, he would definitely find a way to send those resources to his children.
And considering this was a cultivation world, that wasn’t exactly impossible.
The second person was just a normal cultivator who would rather die together than give away all of his resources.
Especially since they had already forged a strong hatred, his enemy wouldn’t let him leave, so he would have no choice but to fight hard.
Her answer satisfied him, but he wasn’t finished.
"Now, let’s add something to both scenarios. An unknown person of similar strength! What choice would they make if they found such a person?"
Hearing that, the sword immediately replied.
"In the first scenario, the person would not ask for help; instead, he would try to run in the opposite direction."
"Because he wants his children to receive those resources. He wouldn’t just believe in an unknown person to deliver these resources to his family."
"In his mind, this was delivering a meal to a lion’s den."
"But in the second scenario, the person would definitely ask for help and get that unknown person involved."
"Because in this scenario, the person definitely wants to live, but he is forced to self-destruct. So when he finds a chance to survive, he will take it."
"Even if that means sharing half of his resources. Because in his mind, if that person does double-cross him, he could just self-destruct."
At this moment, the sword paused for a moment before it spoke.
"So, you believe this tower is in a similar situation to the father from the first scenario."
"It can’t ask for help, and if it does reveal itself, it will only get sought by more powerful people."
"So, it has no choice but to accept you and fulfill your conditions?"
Tyler got up and waved his hand.
"I don’t believe it has no choice at all. It definitely has, but what it does with that choice can be determined by its purpose."
"If it is a treasure, it could simply choose to destroy my soul and leave since we are not destined, person."
"If it is an inheritance, it would do everything in its power to keep its inheritance intact until the worthy soul merges with it."
"If it is a prison, it would do anything in its power to help its host improve."
"It didn’t self-destruct. It is not helping me. It is not even talking to me. That means it is an inheritance tower, but that inheritance doesn’t belong to me."
"Or it could belong to me if I practice this technique to perfection. Considering my situation, it is guiding me towards that path."
"But if that was the case, it shouldn’t allow the Fire Empress to harm me. So the question is, since I am not its destined person, should I trust it?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"That’s why I am playing this gamble. After all, if it gets damaged, it not only has to worry about repairing itself."
"But also the people it has captured and imprisoned on different floors. Teacher, I can take the gamble and die happily."
"But can it?"
