When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase
Chapter 943: I Won’t Let You Suffer (Part 3)
Si Xia’s intentions were clear, they were interested in her comic, but whether or not to sign a contract was up to Su Weiyi herself.
Su Weiyi chatted with Si Xia for quite a while, and by the time she hung up the phone, Xie Xiaoran had already returned.
Su Man suddenly spoke up, "By the way, have you all prepared the illustrations due on Monday?"
Xie Xiaoran took a big sip of water, unable to speak, and nodded upon hearing this.
Su Weiyi also nodded; she had completed the drawing by the end of April. Although this was just a school selection, Su Weiyi had still put a lot of thought into it. Her drawing depicted the most beautiful scenes of Q University, cleverly connecting them together, somewhat like a serial picture.
Su Weiyi was quite satisfied with her work. Of course, this wasn’t the final competition entry. Apparently, this competition required themed drawing, and the current drawings were only for an internal assessment, after which five people would be selected for the competition.
After finishing the drawing, Su Weiyi didn’t touch it again, afraid that a sudden whim might lead her to add something, potentially ruining its original charm.
Now, hearing Su Man mention it, she decided to open it up and take a look since it was due tomorrow anyway.
Su Weiyi turned on her computer and noticed that the power cord was a bit warm, but she didn’t pay much attention to it given the hot weather.
However, upon opening the folder, Su Weiyi was stunned— it was completely empty, nothing inside.
The artwork was to be submitted in two formats: a hand-drawn version and an electronic version. Su Weiyi frowned; there was no way she could have forgotten. She had a mild form of OCD, accustomed to organizing artworks from specific time periods into a single folder.
The folder she opened contained all the non-comic work she had drawn from January to May this year, including some spontaneous sketches and assignments from teachers.
But now, everything was there except the drawing she was preparing for the competition.
Su Weiyi’s face turned pale, yet she calmly searched through other folders, but found nothing.
"My drawing is gone."
Her voice was soft, with a slight tremble. Su Man, who was just about to get on the bed to rest, paused in her actions, and behind her, Xie Xiaoran also turned around.
The two hurried over to Su Weiyi’s side, "What do you mean? What’s going on?"
Su Weiyi opened the closet; her hand-drawn sketch was placed on the side of the closet, rolled up neatly by herself—but it was gone now too.
Su Weiyi’s face turned completely grim.
Su Man realized something, "Is the hand-drawn sketch gone too?"
Su Weiyi bit her lips tightly, neither nodding nor shaking her head, but her expression was quite clear.
If the digital version was missing, there were many possible explanations: perhaps her computer got a virus, perhaps she accidentally deleted it, or perhaps the hard drive malfunctioned.
But with the hand-drawn sketch gone too, only one possibility remained: someone tampered with her computer, someone took her hand-drawn sketch.
And who is that person?
Su Weiyi’s eyes suddenly lit up—did she not just see correctly downstairs a moment ago?
Zhang Ziyu?
Though it couldn’t be confirmed with certainty, Su Weiyi couldn’t think of anyone else.
With Xie Xiaoran’s talent, she would never do such a thing; she’s much more capable than Su Weiyi. Regarding Su Man’s character and integrity, Su Weiyi believed in her.
Then who else? Who else could have opened their dorm room door? Who else knew she habitually placed large drawings in the closet?
