While Others Stream Dungeons, I Became The Final Boss
Chapter 27: Newbies’ Dungeon Trial [5]
They watched with varying expressions as the party cornered the first giant rabbit, with Abel delivering the final killing blow.
"Hey, hey!! What kind of ability is that?! The range and power of that mage are off the charts!"
"Did you see the swordsman’s and archer’s skills? I don’t care anymore. I want to know who put them all on the same team! Aren’t they going to easily clear the dungeon?!"
"Why is no one talking about the Hunter that dealt that finishing blow? Using a weapon like that to such a degree of precision should not be easy in combat."
"Fascinating! I’ve never seen anyone use a weapon like that. Perhaps he has had training before becoming a Hunter. But he hasn’t displayed any skill yet. Is he hiding it for a big reveal?"
"Why isn’t anyone answering my question?"
"Shut up! Haven’t you checked the forum already to understand what’s going on? This is the last dungeon run of the Giant Feet Burrow Level One D-ranked Dungeon. After today, will it cease to exist? So it’s expected that the dungeon goes through a mutation or quietly closes after being conquered. That must be why Bear Bard is overseeing them. This party has no idea what they’re going to face if they get unlucky."
The moment that information was revealed, the Hunters present quickly logged into the Hunter Association forum and discovered the information was correct.
[Twelve people have liked [Newbie Dungeon Raiders #523212243125] Livestream. Thirty people are still watching. That’s a good start!]
The battle on the livestream soon escalated as the Hunters faced a dozen Giant-Feet rabbits. To their surprise, they managed to kill three with amazing teamwork before the team was unexpectedly separated by the monsters.
The moment that happened, the livestreaming screen split into four parts, displaying Abel, Firestar, Executioner Five, and Poison Rose all in their screens fighting against the monsters.
While Executioner Five, Poison Rose, and Firestar’s screens captivated the audience due to the amazing use of their abilities, a small portion focused on Abel due to his skilled use of his chained double-bladed battle axe.
They observed as two giant rabbits cornered and attacked him.
"That’s it! I don’t think he can make it out of this unless the others rescue him as before!"
"Yeah! He’s as good as done. I was really impressed by his choice of weapon and wanted to learn more, so I could use it to attract more viewers on my next streams. But this is as far as he goes."
"Executioner Five and Poison Rose seem to be handling themselves really well. Firestar is doing well, but I don’t think she can sustain that mana output if she keeps missing her target like that. I wager she’s next after that guy’s gone."
"How about we place a bet then? I say Firestar survives and Poison Rose will be the first to fall?"
"Shouldn’t you guys be ashamed of yourselves? Wishing for the downfall of your junior Hunter?" a Hunter snorted. "I place a wager that Executioner Five wins it all. That’s how real men wager. Who wants to join in?"
[Betting pool is open. Place your bets. Dream big, win big!]
In the era of livestreaming, audiences could only watch, donate, subscribe, and gift channels of their choosing, but they could also place bets against one another. As long as the betting pool was large enough, anyone could join in, and the winner takes all.
However, such events were only reserved for skilled or popular Hunters with developed communities or channels.
No one was willing to waste their hard-earned coins to wager on a party of newbies. But because of the unique composition of Abel’s party, their teamwork and expert fighting style, they were instantly moved to wager on who would emerge victorious or fall first.
Among the few Hunters who hadn’t placed a wager was Miles. He observed the scene and shook his head. This was a habit among Hunters and was even encouraged, so it didn’t matter what happened; they would all place their bets once the betting pool opened. Curious, he looked at the betting pool.
[Firestar] — Conquers the dungeon! (16 bets placed)
[Executioner Five] — Falls to second place (3 bets placed)
[Poison Rose] — Barely makes a mark (1 lonely wager)
[TYRANT] — Falls out of battle first (11 bets placed)
"Hey, who bet that Firestar would emerge victorious? Didn’t you all agree that Executioner Five would emerge victorious?"
"You and who..? Brother, I’m placing my bet on the pretty lady. With that skill and talent, she’s obviously going to be a fast-rising star if she passes the trial. I’m going to use this opportunity to show her that I supported her during tough times while everyone looked away and said otherwise."
"True! Next time, don’t follow the crowd. This is the beginning of a community. I suggest you take out another coin and wager on her victory. Put in the investment and join early, brother."
"TYRANT," Miles muttered. He wasn’t surprised by the betting results.
It was obvious that he looked like the only normal Hunter in the party, and with the current look of things, he would be the one who fell first.
Although there was a rule that stated that as long as one person passed the dungeon, they could all pass the trial, the one who conquers the dungeon gains success, support, and popularity over those who failed to participate. So TYRANT’s situation wasn’t surprising to anyone.
"He has stopped running," he remarked.
After being chased by two Giant-Feet rabbits and realising that no one was coming to help him, could it be that he was finally about to reveal his ability?
Despite others’ assumptions, Miles doubted that a Hunter placed among this party of skilled newbies was ordinary. There must be something unique about TYRANT, like the others.
’Let’s see what you’ve got,’ Miles thought.
He watched the screen above intently as Abel turned to face the beasts and unleashed a powerful, terrifying roar.
