Chapter 7: Crimson Bull Guild

Four bright flashes of light appeared within a dense forest.

Four individuals appeared out of the light.

There were three men and a woman.

The first was a bulky, muscular man, carrying a heavy shield with spikes on its surface strapped to his back and a long sword on his side. The second man, lean and muscular, carried a sword as well. The third, with a less muscular physique, held a staff. The last was a woman with a lean, muscular physique carrying a bow with a quiver of arrows strapped to her back.

They were all dressed in standard full-sleeve bodysuit armour, but of varying colours.

[Welcome [Crimson Bull Guild] to the [Level One Dungeon: Baneroot Forest]]

A system notification interface appeared before them.

They all wore various mixtures of caution, fear, fascination, and excitement on their faces as they scrutinised their surroundings.

The sun rays filtered through the densely packed trees and fell on their faces. The grass crumbled under their boots, sinking deeper into the earth. Even the air was fresh and real. For many of them, this was their first time entering a dungeon after being scouted by a guild that had seen their potential soon after their awakening.

"So this is what a Level One Dungeon feels like from within?" Brakk, the first man carrying a heavy spiky shield and a sword, said while looking at the dense forest around him.

"I would’ve called it a paradise resort if it wasn’t for the fact we would be fighting for our lives," Nolan, the healer, chuckled lightly as he looked at the beautiful forest around him with a mesmerised expression.

Reina nodded in response.

"We aren’t here to admire the beautiful landscape. Everyone, take your positions. I’ll stream the dungeon right away," Draven, the swordsman, said.

He summoned the system interface and immediately went live in the dungeon. Since they were already in a guild, there was no need to create a group. They could automatically go live with a few clicks.

[Party Name: Crimson Bull Guild]

[Party Leader: Draven]

[Party Members: 4]

[Live: Baneroot Forest (Level One Dungeon)]

[Viewers: 10]

[-Live Chat-]

[Evaluation team checking in. Do your best. Don’t hesitate to leave the dungeon if you encounter any issues.]

As the group livestream unravelled before them, a comment immediately appeared.

"Humph! We aren’t planning on quitting this dungeon! We’ll surely complete it and earn our place in the Crimson Bull Guild," Draven said with a dismissive snort.

Ever since his awakening, he had gone through rigorous training to better hone his abilities and studied the dungeons he was raiding so he would achieve a hundred per cent completion rate, as well as draw in more viewers, most especially those divine patrons, towards his channel.

This was the reason he was chosen as the leader of this party.

The other Hunters also dismissed the comment.

However, unlike Draven, this was their first time raiding a dungeon. Although they had done their study on the Baneroot Forest Dungeon and formulated a perfect plan for conquering it, they still felt slightly nervous and stage fright at standing before numerous individuals watching their every move within the dungeon.

Although they had also trained for this, experiencing it was an entirely different affair.

"We might be newbies. But we aren’t that stupid to die in a Level One Dungeon," Brakk retorted with a snort.

"I agree. Clearing this dungeon would be a piece of cake. In fact, we plan on beating the record clearance time... What was it again? Yeah... 15 minutes!" Nolan said, thoughtfully.

"I don’t normally agree with these brutes. But we’ll make you eat back your words for breakfast," Reina added, with a sneer. She knew that the Evaluation team could see what face she was making at the moment, so she didn’t bother hiding her expression.

[My bad. I was only trying to look out for you guys to make sure that you don’t get too ahead of yourselves. How about I give you guys a gift to make it up to you?]

Ding!

[Lone_Inspector has donated two coins to your party livestream.]

"Cheapskate!" Draven clicked his tongue upon seeing the gift that the member of the Evaluation team had sent them.

The other Hunters wore the same expression. Moments later, they smiled lightly and shook their heads, accepting his show of goodwill.

Although Baneroot Forest is a Level One Dungeon, conquering it hasn’t been easy. Three parties of five to six Hunters had perished within it by the Final Dungeon Boss, with only one survivor, before it was eventually conquered by the Crimson Bull Guild.

After that, its survival rating had risen from 2 per cent to 99 per cent. The remaining 1 per cent was on the premise that a party that wasn’t prepared before attacking the dungeon was bound to die. However, since they had made their preparations, they were prepared for whatever the dungeon had to throw at them.

"Enough standing around idly. If we don’t want to bore the viewers, then let’s begin," Draven said, drawing his sword.

The others nodded and drew their weapons as well.

The carefree ambience surrounding them slowly grew serious.

Brakk led the forefront, acting as the tank. Reina stood at the back acting as a marksman. Nolan stood at the centre, and Draven stood in front of him to protect him and attack alongside Brakk as well.

A tank, warrior, healer, and archer. This was a normal dungeon raiding party.

They walked deeper into the forest.

Rustle... Rustle...

Suddenly, they heard the rustling of bushes beside them.

"SKREEE!!"

A small green figure leapt out of the bushes with a large wooden club in hand.

Swiisshh!!

Draven swung his sword in its direction, slicing the figure in half before it could reach them.

The monster’s dissected body landed on the ground, dead.

"A goblin," Nolan muttered. "Seeing one up close is giving me the heebie-jeebies."

"Well, you’d better hold it in, because we’re about to meet its friends and family," Draven responded, narrowing his gaze at the trees and bushes surrounding them.
