Wielding the Thunders Across Two Worlds
Chapter 133 - 132: The Meddler’s Arrival, The Meddler’s Dispatch
"Lord Mage, spare my life!"
The woman in purple cried out mournfully. Each sound was plaintive, each word filled with sorrow. The soul-stealing notes entered Yunyang’s ears, like a sixteen-year-old girl leaning against him, her robes loosening as she exhaled a faint fragrance and moaned softly.
Gu Zhao nodded. "Their Divine Soul Magical Power isn’t weak. They specialize in Spiritual Power, which actually makes them a better match for a Zhengyi Disciple."
"Yi... Sect Leader, why do you underestimate me?" Yunyang was quickly getting used to this archaic manner of speaking.
After all, in a famous ancient capital like the West Capital, people wearing traditional Hanfu were a common sight on every street. Not to mention the cultural activities in the scenic areas, even on the streets, you could find streamers stopping passersby to challenge them to poetry recitals.
"Grasp the Golden Crystal to secure the foundation of life; the sun’s soul in the east, the moon’s essence in the west. From this, refine the Elixir of Immortality; consume it, and you will be one with heaven and earth."
Yunyang recited a quatrain by Lü Zu. "A Quanzhen Disciple uses a breath of True Qi to refine the Golden Core below and the Divine Soul above. Through the Dual Cultivation of Life and Spirit, the soul and body are one. We use this physical body to brave tribulations and achieve Ascension. How could we possibly neglect the spiritual aspect?"
Hearing the grand spirit in the poem, the three female ghosts within the Sword Curtain were scared out of their wits. They tried to flee with all their might while continuing to plead in low voices.
Yunyang let out a long laugh as the longsword in his hand accelerated. Each and every move looked perfectly clear, yet they blurred into afterimages. Seemingly slow but actually fast, his strikes were too quick for the three women to dodge, and they were hit again and again.
"Ah!"
"Ngh!"
"Oh!"
But whether the three women transformed into mist to flee, blocked with Ghost Qi, or counterattacked with Divine Sense, they could not stop Yunyang’s longsword. The Taoist True Qi within the blade eroded their Ghost Qi, shred by shred.
If Yunyang hadn’t been using them for live combat sword practice, they would already be dead.
"Mage, spare us!"
"We sisters were ignorant and offended you Mages. We are willing to kowtow and beg for forgiveness. Please, spare our lives!"
"This humble servant is willing to serve you in bed, Young Master. I will certainly not disappoint you!" The woman in green waved a delicate hand, and the green gauze on her shoulders slipped down, half-exposing a fragrant shoulder and the round, full curves beneath.
Yunyang’s expression remained as placid as a lake, completely unmoved. He simply continued practicing his swordsmanship. Seeing the green-clad woman’s attempt at seduction, he couldn’t help but shake his head and scoff. ’I’ve seen plenty of foreign mares that would get an FBI warning. What’s this supposed to be?’
The woman in green was confused. ’A foreign mare? What is that? A horse demon?’
By now, Yunyang had practiced the entire Eight Immortals Sword routine to perfection. From his Lightweight Body Technique to his method of Cultivation and Luck, everything had been tested in live combat and was now second nature to him.
’In that case...’
A sharp glint flashed in Yunyang’s eyes, and his grip on his sword tightened.
Just then, a powerful surge of Yin Qi erupted not far away and sped toward them. "Spare them!"
Hearing this voice, the three female ghosts became agitated.
"Brother Cyan-faced!"
"Hurry and save us!"
But before the wave of Yin Qi could even get close, Yunyang’s longsword was already covered in Taoist True Qi. The whistle of the blade suddenly grew shrill as it pierced through the hearts of the three women in an instant.
After three shrieks of varying lengths that rang out almost simultaneously, the three female ghosts dissolved into a viscous fluid and vanished like smoke. All that remained at the scene were three outfits—one of Purple Gauze, one of Red Silk, and one of green gauze—which fluttered gently to the ground.
"You killed them? Didn’t I just tell you to spare them?"
The voice was distant at first, but by the final word, its owner had already arrived on the scene.
The group followed the sound and saw a man dressed in cyan-gray martial attire. His black hair had a cyan tint, and his pale face held a bluish-green hue. His eyes, fixed on Yunyang, were filled with killing intent.
The man radiated a dreadful Yin Qi and was wreathed in Ghost Qi. His aura was countless times stronger than that of the three female ghosts. Based on his Dao Practice alone, he seemed to be even stronger than Ren Tianhe, the first Divine General of the Golden Wind Sect, and not far behind that of Consort Yu.
"You tell me to spare them, so I should spare them? How would that not be a loss of face for me?"
Yunyang flicked his longsword, the True Qi at its tip pulsing as he pointed it at the man. Sensing the Evil Qi coming from him, Yunyang’s lips curved into a smile. "Since you wanted them to stay, then you can stay here with them."
The cyan-clothed man’s eyes widened as he bellowed, "You want to kill me too?"
Yunyang answered with his sword.
Immortal’s Guidance! Xiangzi’s Cross Flute! Immortal Maiden Drunk and Reclining!
Before the blade arrived, the wind from the sword did. The cyan-clothed man felt a Pure Yang and Righteous True Gang mixed within the sword wind. His own enveloping Ghost Qi offered no resistance, parting to the sides like tofu sliced by a sharp blade.
"Who are you?" the cyan-clothed man cried out, his face pale with fright. As he retreated rapidly, he raised a hand and shot a Bone Arrow thick with Ghost Qi straight at Yunyang’s face.
Yunyang wasn’t yet proficient with the Golden Light Curse, so he flicked his longsword upward. With a light DING, the sword and the Bone Arrow produced the sound of clashing metal.
The hand Yunyang used to grip his sword trembled slightly as he knocked the Bone Arrow away.
Gu Zhao saw it clearly. Yunyang was using the Fine Steel Longsword brought by Taoist Yi Hong, imbuing it with dense Pure Yang True Qi. A single strike had broken through the Bone Arrow’s Ghost Qi and carved a deep gash into its surface.
The cyan-clothed man let out a muffled grunt, shocked and enraged. "You dare damage my Magical Artifact? I’ll flay you alive and annihilate your soul today!"
As his voice fell, the cyan-clothed man waved his hand, and six more Bone Arrows appeared. Together with the one that had just fallen to the ground, they formed a set of seven that shot straight toward Yunyang.
Although these seven Bone Arrows weren’t particularly powerful Magical Artifacts, their sheer number and dense Ghost Qi forced even Yunyang to retreat and activate the Golden Light Curse.
"Heaven and Earth Profound Sect, Root of Ten Thousand Qi. Cultivate through myriad kalpas, Prove My Divine Techniques."
SHIING!
A golden light flared to life. In the darkness of the night, Yunyang shone like an 800-watt lightbulb. His entire body flickered with golden light, and the Sword Light carrying his Taoist True Qi formed an impenetrable defense around him.
Before the seven Bone Arrows could even get close, they seemed to hit water, their speed slowing abruptly as the golden light began to erode their Ghost Qi.
Sensing the dense golden light, the cyan-clothed man looked as if he had met his natural predator. But beyond the fear in his eyes, there was a savage ferocity, a determination to kill Yunyang no matter the cost.
The cyan-clothed man let out a sharp cry, pouring the Ghost Qi from his body into the Bone Arrows, vowing to shatter Yunyang’s Protective Golden Light.
Gu Zhao reached up and scratched his face. "This guy really doesn’t know what’s good for him."
The next moment, the golden light surged violently, instantly sending the seven Bone Arrows flying. The cyan-clothed man couldn’t help but spit out a mouthful of black gas. His face turned pale, and his aura weakened dramatically.
The cyan-clothed man shot another glare at the guy who, despite having a far lower Dao Practice, was somehow stronger than him. He then waved his hand to retrieve the Bone Arrows and turned to leave.
However, he chose his escape route poorly. Instead of returning the way he came, he flew toward Gu Zhao, raising his right hand as several wisps of black gas appeared in his palm.
"You want to protect them?" The cyan-clothed man glanced back at Yunyang and sneered. "Then I’ll just kill them!"
Then, the cyan-clothed man saw a look of utter disbelief in Yunyang’s eyes. An instant later, a deafening thunderclap exploded next to his ear.
BOOM!
