Jacob felt a small hint of anxiety well in his gut when she mentioned both the trios. He had gotten small lecture about them from his professor back in Iron Kingdom, but no one else knew who they were or what their powers were. However, this teacher seemed to be willing to share a lot of information about them. Jenna started on the first three names she wrote on the left. A small familiarity resounded in himself when he read the names.

Garno -

Ferro -

Jenna pointed to the first one.

"This is the first man of the Profane Trio. His name is Garno. He has the ability to take away the powers of other people. His ability is a blessing."

As she spoke, she wrote in the power of the person next to their name. Maria raised her hand.

"Yes, Maria?"

"So, he can take away people’s Zalo’s, but can he use them himself when he takes them?"

"That’s a great question. From what I understand, I’ve never heard of him using someone’s power that he has stolen. I think it acts more as disabling their power rather than taking it. Or maybe he hasn’t had the need to use someone else’s power. To be honest, both of those ideas are quite terrifying if you ask me."

Maria nodded and leaned forward in her seat.

"This next person is named Annis. Her ability is arguably more terrifying than Garno’s. She is capable of freezing someone’s destiny in place. How do we know that? I’ll explain that in a bit when we get to the Sacred Trio. Her ability is a rend power."

After Jenna finished writing down Annis’ power, she stared at the last name for a strange while before talking again.

"This last man is Ferro. He is the man whose ability is death itself. Anybody and anything that touches him dies. He is the most powerful of the Profane Trio and easily the most terrifying. I’m sure even his comrades fear him. I know I would. His ability is a curse."

Jacob stared at the last man’s ability in awe.

’That power... it can’t be fair. That’s such a ridiculously powerful ability. It’s the ultimate defense and offense. How is it possible for someone to survive against a fight with him when all he has to do is touch you?’

Jacob started rummaging through his mind to try and think how defeating someone like that could be possible. Jacob couldn’t contain his curiosity and raised his hand.

"Another question? Very good. I’m glad to see you participating more."

"If someone dies from simply touching him, how come the battle against Zalo was so massive? Shouldn’t he have just died instantly from touching Ferro?"

"Good observation. Unfortunately, I do not have a complete answer for that. If you ask me, I believe it either had something to do with Zalo being a god or because Zalo had some unique powers that suppressed him. Oh, I think it’s very important to mention since we have now finished our first three people. If you ever happen to come in contact with any of these six individuals, running is your only chance of survival. Don’t try to talk to them, don’t try to look at them, don’t even try to breathe the same air as them. They are so powerful that they may kill you even if they didn’t mean to. Walking past one would be similar to an ant trying to walk under the foot of an elephant the size of this whole kingdom. Any more questions before we continue to the Sacred Trio?"

The room grew tense hearing Jenna’s analogy. Suddenly, Harold ran back through the door with a relieved look.

"Sorry, I’m late. What did I miss? Why does everyone look so glum?"

Jenna sighed as Harold walked back toward his seat and sat down. She walked over the other three names on the board. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"The first of our Sacred Trio is a power that directly opposes Garno’s. Lorvaria’s power is the ability to grant others Zalo’s. There’s a small theory that she works with Xieno in order to determine who deserves a power and who doesn’t. This is a blessing power. She is the reason any of you have a power, if you do have one. So, I would one day thank her if I were you."

Jacob looked over at Maria to see if she was just as shocked hearing all this information. Maria was completely focused on Jenna still. Her emerald eyes glistened with curiosity.

’Lorvaria... so she is who to blame for giving everyone better powers than me!!’

"Next, we have Xieno. His power is the ability to see and manipulate destiny. His ability is a rend power. However, he discovered that his power does not work on people who are affected by Annis’s Zalo though. That is how we are able to know what Annis’s power is."

Hearing that someone was able to manipulate destiny itself made Jacob want to puke.

’I have to be the weakest Zalo user to ever exist.’

"Lastly, we have Cane. His power is simply, but it is extraordinarily powerful. His power is pure immortality. He doesn’t age, can’t die, and can regenerate from any state of attack he is hit by. His ability is a curse."

Gabriel decided to raise his hand this time.

"So, can Ferro kill Cane since he holds the power over death?"

"Great question. Everyone has always speculated that Ferro is able to finally put Cane to rest, but he has never been able to... or perhaps he has never wanted to."

This was another thing that didn’t make sense Jacob. He assumed that the Profane and Sacred Trio were enemies of each other since their powers opposed each other. However, if they really were enemies, why doesn’t Ferro simply kill Cane? Why don’t they all try and fight each other? Have they fought before? Millions of questions flooded his mind. Jenna noticed Jacob was wrestling with his own thoughts and started erasing everything on the board.

"I think I overworked you all today with the information. Let’s call it a day for now. We will continue our conversations tomorrow. We will be talking about the history of this continent, so be ready."

Slowly, everyone started standing up from their seats and walking towards the exit. Once they all filed out of the building, Luna was the first to speak.

"Doesn’t anyone feel like we learned too much? I mean, what she was telling us sounds like information that we weren’t supposed to learn about."

Jacob was glad to hear that he wasn’t the only one out of all of them that was suspicious of what they were learning. Lucy was the next to talk.

"I agree. Information is power after all. Why would they give away such valuable information to us for free?"

Steel starting slicing at a bug flying around him.

"Who cares. If they’re dangerous, we’ll just cut them!!"

As both groups finally made it back to their respective house, they all waved each other bye. Jacob followed behind Maria as they entered. Lidia and Slimo were sitting at the dining table with a massive feast waiting. Everyone beamed seeing the display in front of them and ran to their seats. As Jacob sat down, he looked up at Slimo.

"Since when do you wear glasses, Slimo?"

Slimo looked at Jacob for a few moments, smiling. Before he could answer, his face paled and he passed out on the table.
