Will of a Prince
Chapter 70: Bloodbath
"Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Everyone’s voice behind the king rang through the battlefield as they prepared themselves. Hardly any of them were experienced in battle, yet none of them were afraid to defend their home. The king’s armor was providing all of them with an extreme boost to their physical capabilities, which also boosted their confidence.
"How do you want to do this, brother? Fight right here, let those people around us who get caught up in the fight die? How does the great King Vice want his final moments to go?"
The king looked around at his people before giving his response.
"Hm... I think I’d much prefer us go a little further. I’d hate to accidently hurt my people."
A sharp blast of water shot towards the king, went passed him, and hit a soldier in the chest, knocking him down. Leo smiled darkly.
"Oops. I forgot, it doesn’t matter what you say. I’m going to kill you no matter what."
"That will be the final person you make fall from my army. I’m sorry, but I can’t show you mercy with your sister gone. You will fall by my blade, Leo. Goodbye."
With one giant slam of his red spear, the ground beneath the king cracked, allowing a river of blood to escape, circle around him, and send him flying right toward his brother-in-law.
"You cheeky bas-"
The king and Leo were knocked miles into the sea of duplicates. This first attack had officially ended the decades of peace the kingdom had experienced. Screams echoed from the civilians, and they charged with fury grasping their hearts.
The scene taking place could only be described as a bloodbath. Thousands of duplicates were dying every second. Crimson arrows rained from the sky, the front line was slicing through enemies like butter, and the armor protecting the people never so much as dented when met with opposition. The battle turned from defending the kingdom into a mass slaughter. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Screams reverberated across the battlefield. The reason Monty’s clones struggled so hard with the massive army in front of him was for one specific reason: civilians don’t know how to fight. There was no order to their chaos, just violence and anger in its purest form.
Even when his clones thought they adapted to the random fighting style, the pace, the formation, and the ferocity would all change at a whim. The Iron Kingdom was overwhelming their opponents without losing a single causality.
Meanwhile, the king was causing his own issues to the formation. He sent his brother flying into the middle of his own army, so he could release his curse without worrying about hurting his people. However, if there was anyone else affected by their fight, it was his brother’s people.
"You know, I never took you to be a smart one. Maybe I really did underestimate you after all. But can you blame me? All you do is sit on your throne all day and hide!"
"Oh... do I?"
He narrowed his eyes.
"Just shut up and die, you sister killer."
"Dead men don’t talk."
The king threw his spear with stunning accuracy at Leo. Even with a current of water slowing, it down, it still penetrated through. He had to dodge it at the last moment to keep his head. As Leo watched the pike continue, it penetrated through thousands of duplicates behind him before finally coming to a rest.
A small fear grasped Leo’s heart.
’There’s... no way this bastard can be this strong from sitting on a throne... right?!’
When Leo came to his senses and looked back at the king, there were hundreds more spears aiming to destroy him. With the snap of his fingers, they were all sent flying.
Leo pushed himself in the air with the rainwater. The area he left behind had been turned to a bloody mush from all the duplicates caught in the crossfire. Leo bent the rain to his will, forming the entire area around him into long pikes, all aiming at the king.
He was completely surrounded with water. Leo held up both his hands, pushed them in front of him, aiming at the king, and screamed at the top of his lungs.
"RELEASE!"
Every pellet of rain for miles around them had stopped, allowing some of the blood that was attacking it to fly past them. However, when the raining pellets stopped, they strangely started to rapidly multiply. Very soon, it was as if a giant ocean had appeared right above them.
When Leo put his hands down, the ocean fell right on top of the king, completely surrounding him and flooding every duplicate away from the area. The king seemed to be staggered from having the weight of a large body of water land on top of him. Not only this, but all the small pellets that combined with the ocean shot through the water, aiming to rip the king to shreds.
This was Leo’s only chance. Using almost all the power he had, he closed his hands together, increasing the water pressure around the king to inhuman levels. The pressure was so incredibly high, the area around the king started to boil and pop.
The king started to struggle and wince in pain. He tried commanding his blood to help him escape the water cage, but it was useless. The pressure was too large. He had to endure it with the red armor he currently had, all while holding his breath.
Slowly, cracks started to form around his breastplate and gauntlets. Leo’s teeth were gritting, his muscles were popping out of his shirt, and his energy felt like it was exponentially draining.
’Almost there. Just die already you piece of shit.’
With one final push, Leo commanded the water pressure to increase even more. It became so incredibly high, light and sound couldn’t even enter or leave the square surrounding the king properly. Leo desperately tried to hold on for as long as he could, but eventually, his muscles gave in and he loosened his grip.
When the king was sent back into the normal waters, something crazy happened. His armor was completely gone, exposing his body. However, the weird part is it was as if the kings blood started boiling under his skin.
Leo slowly smiled to himself. He knew that such a drastic change in pressure was harming him severely. Not only this, but he was still completely surrounded by water, unable to breath.
Suddenly, he noticed the king mumble something to himself. Leo’s eyes widened.
’N-no way. There’s no way he’s still-’
A large stream of blood entered the water and began to surround the king.
