Chapter 27: Pandemonium [Part 2]

Cindy sat inside a motel room outside the city, the blinds were closed and the whole place was sealed off.

There were various items strewn about, items that were in no way "normal" for a young college girl to have.

A few bodies- dead bodies were on the ground.

Young men, they looked to be in their mid twenties and were dressed up like they came from a local gang.

Maybe they were, maybe they weren’t, Cindy didn’t care, after all, the four idiots were making some sort of illegal trade in the parking lot before they spotted her enter her room.

Cindy ignored them but she couldn’t really do anything if they decided to storm her cheap room right?

From the spirits that she had talked to, the motel was apparently a hub for crime.

It was just outside the city limits which made it a place that few police officers would go to.

After all, why would police gamble their life and reputation to patrol a crime infested area of the city only to either get shot dead or be posted as being "racist" or "abusing power" on social media?

It didn’t really matter whether the criminals were people of color or not, any race could scream racism. Any person could call out abuse of authority.

Such a situation made it so that police officers spent most of their days patrolling the city, reprimanding jay walkers, catching snatchers and small-time thugs or handing out tickets to people who went half a tick over the speed limit.

The four men who invaded her room were apparently serial r*pist, their victims numbered in the hundreds at this point and their targets were not focused on any specific type.

They were the type who didn’t care even if their target was a man, "if there’s a hole, there’s a goal" and "he looks female enough" were their likely slogans as they live their life as if they were the main characters in a game.

Unfortunately for them, the target they found, a cute asian chick who looked harmless, was actually not harmless and was the worst kind of person they could choose to attack.

"A good amount of souls haunt you, it would be a waste to not use your bodies and souls"

Cindy thought while she multitasked looking through a magical projection on the wall and the special ritual circle where the four bodies were stacked atop one another.

Seeing as the ritual was proceeding without a problem, Cindy focused her attention on the projection.

She watched as Ragnar led various FBI agents into alleys and other deserted places while wearing the face of Damien Dixon.

He didn’t immediately kill the people he met, instead, he first assessed whether they had connections to mystical powers or not.

Normal humans were killed the regular way while those with mystical ties were captured and sent to a special prison.

"So the vikings have access to the Fae Trail? Should I assume that Richard also has those capabilities?"

It would be normal to think that the teacher would pass on everything they know to their students. But unlike science, mystical knowledge would not always be useful.

Sometimes, even a perfectly memorized spell and method would still fail in the hands of those without proper "talent" for it.

Mystics were ultimately a test of compatibility, Cindy would have loved to make pacts with nature spirits. To manipulate reality with her will alone. But her talents didn’t allow for such things.

Even with the help of tools, the best she could do was alter her own image.

But what she lacked in magic to affect reality outwardly was paid for in her talent with manipulating souls, life and death.

Some would call her a necromancer but Cindy was more an alchemist who toyed with the natural elements and brought new meaning to materials.

While she can’t create lightning by making the air molecules create the necessary forces for her to electrocute people like she was a sith. She could create a magical taser that worked on the principles of magic.

While such a path was taken by some people with similar talents as Cindy, the path she took was more on the manipulation of homunculi.

She can’t make pacts with mystical beings but she could make pacts with regular humans, turn their souls into a chimeric engine and transform them into a monster she could control.

Others would see her manifesting countless arms to attack others, sometimes tails, tentacles...

She fought like some sort of priestess under the purview of an outer God but she was simply summoning her countless pets to help her out.

Still, even with her many tricks, Cindy still felt jealous whenever she saw some of the "truly mystical" abilities others had access to.

She watched as Ragnar shoved another FBI agent who was likely connected to the Freemason Mystical group into the forest path leading to a damp prison cell.

She was familiar with that cell as she watched Ragnar take out meat from it.

The cell was under Richard’s workshop, under the protection of the Goddess with countless seals powered by a few hundred wandering souls... the cell could even lock Cindy up, much less a bunch of low ranking mystics whose greatest ability was their "knowledge of mystical beings".

"I really want to watch Richard"

She muttered with a pout, the meeting between Richard and Andre (likely a rogue witch), was something she wanted to see.

The look of betrayal and struggle in Richard’s face, the way he would try desperately to control his own rage and the emotions he would go through-

Cindy was a connoisseur of such drama’s, while fiction could help her quench her thirst, reality was much more fun than any fictional tale.

She didn’t even have to "suspend her disbelief" as the things happening were "real" and not things a couple of actors read on a script.

Unfortunately for her, the task she was responsible for was only monitoring and ensuring that reinforcements for Andrea would be stopped or at worst, delayed as much as possible. Moreover, she can’t really let out her "spy pets" as they would be a dead giveaway given how the spell surrounding the building was made.

While she could hide its presence, her ability to do so from afar was a potential source of failure.

She might be better than Richard at evading detection but that was when she used magic on herself and her pets that were close to her.

Moreover, multitasking many battlefields and monitoring many events would take a toll even on her!

But just as she was getting bored-

*knock* *knock*

"Delivery!"

Two men dressed like food delivery drivers knocked on her door. Their upper bodies were dressed like they were actual employees of the fast food chain but Cindy could already see through the weapons they concealed.

Moreover, her pets had already seen the tattoos they tried to hide through the jackets they wore.

With a smile, Cindy stood up, although it wasn’t as fun as watching Richard break down and crash out, torturing a few bad men was still a good way to pass the time.

"Coming~"

She answered with a cheerful voice as she opened the door and immediately, the two men rushed in reaching out for Cindy while one of their hands reached towards their backs. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

The movements of the two men were quick, like a pair of professionals. They obviously did the same move hundreds, maybe thousands of times already but Cindy did not show panic and only smiled-

"Welcome!"

The two men did not notice the unnatural reaction CIndy had as their heads were more focused on completing what they had to do.

Alas, that was their error as the moment the two stepped into the room-

*BANG!*

The door quickly closed, others only saw two men rush into a room after a young asian woman opened it. The door closed just as the last man entered and nothing else happened.

Nobody cared about what was going on inside, the scene was something everyone in the neighborhood was familiar with but...

This time what really happened was different, others only saw the closing of the door but within the room-

"AAAAAAHHHH!!!!"

"No! Stop! Stop! NOOOO-AHHHH!!!"

The two men screamed as their bodies were torn to shreds by a hideous beast hiding in the darkness.

Their horrific screams were music to Cindy’s ears as she watched her pets devour the two men.
