Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 147 - 128: Sea Race Wizard: Prepare for the Sea Race’s Generous Gift! Mad Witch
A few minutes prior, just as Sylvie and her group reached the ship, the chaotic battle on the other side of the island had begun to stabilize.
Ultimately, the Necromancer Tyrant was only Tier Two. Its stats weren’t much higher than the other Adventurers, and were even slightly inferior to some of the more powerful ones. The only reason it could cause such a massive disturbance was entirely thanks to its superior abilities.
But even the most powerful abilities need the stats to back them up. Under the combined assault of numerous Adventurers, the Necromancer Tyrant eventually fell.
However, it had already over-fulfilled its mission. After its rampage, it had not only helped Isaac gauge the combat strength of the remaining members on the island, but had also cleared out a large number of Adventurers in the process.
Some were killed in the chaotic battle, some died from the Erosion of Death Magic Power, and others, like Sylvie’s group, had withdrawn directly. As a result, only a little over a thousand Adventurers remained.
Most of them were Tier Two, with only a handful of Tier One Adventurers scattered among them.
This was completely different from Isaac’s previous speculation. He had thought there would be two or three thousand Tier Two Adventurers on the third island!
However, he quickly figured out where he had gone wrong. He had miscalculated the number of Sea Race members on the Desert Island and the Forest Island.
The Noy Clan or the Sea Race must have the ability to monitor and influence the teleportation mechanism, allowing them to stabilize the number of Sea Race members on both islands. Otherwise, based on the number of Sea Race and their reinforcement speed on the Forest Island where Isaac was, it would have been hard to say who was hunting whom!
Isaac leaned more toward the theory that the Noy Clan was controlling the mechanism, because the Sea Race wouldn’t be stupid enough to send their own people to their deaths.
Having figured this out, Isaac grew bolder. Although nearly a thousand Tier Two Adventurers were quite strong, to him, they were nothing special. The real trouble was the Sea Race.
The Adventurers were only on the island for money. As long as he demonstrated his incomparable strength, the rest was just a matter of splitting the loot. He could win over one group, and those he couldn’t would naturally retreat.
But the Sea Race was different. Those guys were participating in the island battle for their Faith, and they fought like fanatics!
’And unlike the first two days, there’s no teleportation mechanism to split everyone up on this third day. This is going to be tough~’
Fortunately, the ever-prudent Isaac still had a plan!
Thus, after the Necromancer Tyrant fell, Isaac acted decisively. His opening move was Dimension Descent!
A blood-red radiance shot toward the heavens. Visible streams of scarlet Magic Power surged from Isaac’s body, forming a thick pillar of energy that rocketed into the sky!
Within the pillar of Magic Power, Isaac’s figure slowly began to rise. Indistinct spatial ripples appeared behind him, and before everyone’s shocked eyes, a mountain of flesh was squeezed out of the Void!
PLORT!
Immediately after, like a volcanic eruption, countless globs of flesh spewed from the mountain. Over a thousand Great Sword Ghosts took form in mid-air, then scattered across the land like a meteor shower!
And this was only the beginning. Isaac tossed a handful of blood-red Gemstones into the mountain of flesh behind him. These were what he had accumulated from hunting the Sea Race over the past two days. Under normal circumstances, even with these, he wouldn’t have been able to summon more than a few Great Sword Ghosts.
But these were clearly not normal circumstances. As he threw the handful of Gemstones, an endless torrent of Magic Power followed, surging madly into the mountain of flesh. This, combined with the Flesh Nest, accelerated the catalysis of the Great Sword Ghosts. As it absorbed the massive amount of Magic Power, the mountain of flesh trembled and once again spewed forth a huge quantity of Essence of Life, which condensed into more Great Sword Ghosts in mid-air!
In the blink of an eye, the number of Great Sword Ghosts broke past the two thousand mark!
At this sight, the Adventurers, the Sea Race, and even the young man from the Noy Clan on the ship were all utterly aghast.
Two thousand Tier Two beings!
And they were Great Sword Ghosts! An organized army of Great Sword Ghosts!
In a direct confrontation, a force like this could even kill two or three High-level Knights!
Of course, this was just based on on-paper stats; the reality was another matter entirely. High-level Knights could flee, and their speed far surpassed that of Tier Two Great Sword Ghosts. They also commanded many advanced Combat Techniques. In a real fight, the two thousand Great Sword Ghosts would be the ones to lose.
Furthermore, since the two thousand Great Sword Ghosts were controlled by Isaac, a High-level Knight could easily cut through the army and take his head.
However, while that might be true, there were no Tier Three powerhouses among the Adventurers and Sea Race present. An assassination strike? They’d have to break through an army of over two thousand Great Sword Ghosts just to get near him first!
The shock of the Noy Clan, however, was even more direct. Two thousand Great Sword Ghosts... 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
An organized army of them!
A legion of this caliber was extremely rare in the entire Empire!
In the entire Terra Empire, only the Emperor’s personal retinue of one thousand Royal Guards had reached the standard of being entirely composed of Tier Two members!
That’s right—in terms of numbers, they were only half the size of Isaac’s force!
Of course, there was the issue of cost-effectiveness. The expense of maintaining two thousand Great Knights was enormous. Moreover, anyone who could succeed in the Cultivation to become a Great Knight possessed a certain degree of talent; at the very least, if they pushed themselves, they had a much higher chance of breaking through to become a High-level Knight.
Furthermore, although Knights today could no longer be directly promoted into the ranks of the Nobility as they once were, a Great Knight could still easily become a noble if they wished. For instance, not all of the Barons enfeoffed by Solomon were Great Knights.
And that was only because Solomon was part of the Border Nobility, where competition was already fierce. If it were an ordinary pioneering noble, a Great Knight could secure a noble title simply by joining their ranks.
