Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 41 - 34: A New Goal Has Appeared
"Aren’t you...taking a huge risk?" Caesar asked, a worried tone in his voice.
That was a legendary Demon God, after all!
"It’s fine. As long as the ritual doesn’t fail, there won’t be any problems," Isaac said, quite nonchalantly.
Caesar, standing nearby, looked like he wanted to say more, but Cheryl cut him off. "Isaac is right. As long as the ritual is successful, there’s no danger. This is the very power Legendary Mages rely on to survive."
But then she turned to Isaac. "That, however, is predicated on the ritual succeeding! You might have gotten lucky this time, but I hope you don’t get careless because of it. The Outer Gods are not that simple. Your success this time doesn’t guarantee you’ll keep succeeding in the future!"
Isaac nodded. Of course he knew that.
This was one reason why no one in the Mad Witch Association bothered with interpersonal relationships. Everyone just lived one day at a time, knowing they could be gone in a flash. Making friends?
There was no point.
’As for whether a Mad Witch would stop after just one time...’
Isaac admitted that such people existed, but they were exceptionally rare. ’These days, how many gambling addicts can actually walk away?’
’If they could walk away, could they even be called gambling addicts?’
And to be honest, the high from a rapid power boost was far greater than that of winning money. How many people could resist that?
In any case, Isaac couldn’t.
Don’t be fooled by how readily he agreed just now; in reality, he hadn’t taken any of it to heart. He wasn’t a gambling addict—he was an investor!
And it was a surefire investment!
And as for Cheryl and the others?
They also knew Isaac hadn’t been listening. But that was fine. There would be plenty of time to persuade him later. They could take it slow.
After that, they briefly discussed a few more details of the plan before going their separate ways to handle their own tasks.
It was worth noting that after they parted ways, the second brother, Remington, seemed to want to thank Isaac, but Isaac was in a hurry to get back to his experiments and ignored him.
Besides, to be honest, he didn’t have a very good impression of his second older brother. For one, Isaac had an aversion to stupidity, and in his eyes, competing with Caesar for the inheritance was an incredibly foolish thing to do.
To put it another way, when their father, Gaia, was away from the domain, Caesar could command the domain’s army directly even without Gaia’s written orders.
Furthermore, Caesar also managed his external relationships very well. He had close friends among both the Nobility and Adventurers. How could you possibly compete with a man like that?
’He was born for this!’
Not to mention, in this world where Extraordinary Power reigned supreme, Caesar also possessed an extremely outstanding talent for Cultivation.
The second reason was Remington’s collusion with the Black Orcs.
That whole affair made Isaac look down on him.
Whether he was being used by the Black Orcs or he was using them, in Isaac’s view, it was an utterly idiotic move. Not only was it akin to asking a tiger for its hide, but it also showed a complete disregard for the people of the domain!
A person like that was completely unfit to be a Lord!
’But still...’
’Dislike is one thing, but we’re still related by blood. If I can plead on his behalf, I should.’
But any further interaction was out of the question.
However, after parting with the others, Isaac didn’t immediately return to his Mage Tower. Instead, he found a suitable corner in the fortress and began to set up the Position Magic: Flesh Nest.
Although he had one with him, it was already stored in a Dimension. At its current stage, the Dimension was not suitable for frequent access. So, it was better to build a new one. Not only would it not cost much, but he could also get reimbursed for it!
Why wouldn’t he?
Soon, a giant heart reeking of blood stood in a corner of the fortress. Crimson liquid flowed slowly outward from its center. After a certain distance, it rose as a blood-red mist, carrying the Magic Power from the air back into the giant heart, transforming into the scarlet glow within its veins.
But relying on the Magic Power in the air wasn’t enough to quickly churn out Soldiers. Therefore, after absorbing enough Magic Power, the thick blood flowing from the giant heart gradually increased. Before long, a large pit formed in the ground, and the blood from the heart filled it, turning it into a Blood Pool. The lower half of the giant heart was submerged within, beating slowly.
"GASP!!!"
The nearby Soldiers watching Isaac muttering incantations by the Blood Pool suddenly drew in a sharp breath. The scene was simply too horrifying! Too villainous!
The moment the Flesh Nest officially took form, a faint wave of Magic Power rippled outward.
An Arcane Radiance flashed beside Isaac, and from it, Cheryl’s figure emerged. She frowned and glanced at the Flesh Nest a couple of times, not understanding what she was seeing.
Or, to be more precise, she only understood a part of it—the part that transformed flesh into Demons. It was a relatively simple type of transmutation Arcane Art, but that wasn’t the core of this Magic.
The core of this Magic was its ability to operate automatically. Although it couldn’t nurture true life like a Goblin Nest, the fully automated operation of the Magic was still quite ingenious.
Unfortunately, it contained a great deal of the Knowledge of the Outer Gods. An Ordinary person wouldn’t be able to decipher anything from it, let alone learn from and utilize it.
So, after just a couple of glances, Cheryl turned to Isaac and said, "If you’re finished here, go see Father. He has something to talk to you about."
"Alright, I’ll go right now. This Magic is more or less set up. From now on, just toss Demon Flesh into it. As for the Demons we need to create... I don’t have much combat experience, so give me two or three days. I’ll make a few samples for you to see."
It wasn’t that they couldn’t fight with just Gale Wolves and Demonized Wild Boars, but they weren’t that desperate yet. They could definitely optimize them first.
