World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 10: Rescuing the other students
Leon went to the upper floors, easily clearing the low-level zombies in the hallways and corridors.
To him, who had already reached Level 14, they were nothing but immobilized rats ready to be slaughtered.
At first, he went to his room, taking out some of his clothes and packing them into his bag. As always, self comes first before others.
Once he had taken enough clothes, he stepped out of the room, checking the other rooms for survivors and more clothes.
To his surprise, he only found two male students alive in the whole dormitory.
Those two had locked themselves in a room, barricading the door with several heavy objects.
When Leon pushed, he barely felt resistance as everything was pushed away.
"Why did you scream like that?"
"I didn’t scream, damnit!"
As they all left the dormitory with bags of clothes, Leon listened to them argue about insignificant matters.
When he had forced the door open, one of them had screamed so loudly that even Leon was startled.
"Keep quiet, you two."
Shooting them a mild glare, he motioned for them to zip their mouths, then led the way back to the field house.
Although there were lots of zombies on the campus, the path connecting the male dormitory to the field house had been cleared, so there was no danger on their way back.
When the duo passed by the corpse of the mutated cat and the mutated viper, they were shocked to find out that animals had mutated too.
Leon was indifferent to their reactions. If they couldn’t accept that truth soon enough, then they weren’t worthy of being alive.
They arrived at the field house, and Leon swung the door open, slightly startling the students who were inside.
There was no sign of Director Sam, Selene, Reymond, and the other girl in the building. The only ones left were the normal students and lecturers who were wet and shivering.
’Seems they’ve gone to get medicine.’
"Distribute the clothes to the guys. One per person."
After giving the order to the two behind him, he headed to his own separate room, dropping his bag of clothes there and locking the door.
"Alright. Female dormitory next."
Just as he stepped out of the room, he was surprised to see a scholarly girl with glasses and average looks waiting for him. Although she had an average face, her curvy body was revealed by the wet clothes that clung to her tightly.
’Already that impatient?’
His gaze hardened. He had expected some dissatisfaction from the girls since he hadn’t brought their clothes yet. However, he didn’t think anyone would be bold enough to confront him yet. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"If you’re going to complain about clothes, go back now."
He said coldly.
The girl immediately shook her head. "No, that’s not it. I... just wanted to inform you that your food will grow cold soon. It’s still in the kitchen."
Leon blinked, clearly not expecting that. The only people who always showed him that type of care were his late mother, Clara, and his roommates.
Keeping his expression composed, he nodded and walked past her.
"I’ll remember. Thank you."
Without even glancing at the crowd of male students swarming the two boys he had recently rescued, he left the field house again.
"The university pharmacy and the restaurants are quite far from here. I wonder how those guys are faring."
Still, he wasn’t overly concerned. They were together, and would surely form a strong team.
"Strange. Even if decided to go alone because you’re wary of those guys, why didn’t you bring the new survivors with you to the female dormitory? At least they can’t harm you."
Thyra asked a question about what had been bothering her. Every time she felt like she had understood his intentions, he would always do something else to surprise her.
As he walked towards the female dormitory, he explained.
"Indeed, but I don’t want anyone witnessing my abilities. Until I’m confident I can take anyone down by this spear, then I don’t want to take risk of betrayal."
Thyra nodded slowly, understanding him. Indeed, with the way the world was, there was no saying that a teammate couldn’t backstab a person.
Leon was right to be cautious and wary.
Unlike his path to the female dormitory, Leon encountered several female zombies, taking them down one by one. They must have been girls who were rushing back to their hostel from the rain yesterday.
Now, they had all become zombies.
’A pity.’
[You have slain a Level 5 Normal Zombie!]
As the head of one female zombie was pierced, Leon spotted a small group of about twenty zombies moving towards him rapidly.
"Oh?"
Looking at the group, Leon felt the urge to use his manipulation ability to eliminate them all.
So, he gave in to the urge.
Closing his eyes, he felt the shadows of the advancing zombies, then thought sharply.
’Shadow Spears!’
Along with the sound tearing flesh, several zombies dropped to the ground, and Leon’s eyes opened to see several messages flashing before him.
[You have leveled up to Level 15! +8 Stat points gained!]
He leveled up again after killing almost fifty low-level zombies, increasing his overall stats again.

Even the Star Stream’s evaluation about him had improved. Giving himself a faint smile, he refocused on his current mission.
When he drew close to the hostel, he was surprised by what he saw. There was a net of webs around the large building, and several children-sized spiders crawled across the walls and on the ground.
Leon’s face hardened, not expecting the hostel to have been taken over.
Thyra was equally cautious. "Leon, you’ll have to be careful. The possibility of a Tier One Evolved spider being here is high."
Leon blinked, stunned. "Tier One Evolved?"
