World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 1731 - 32: Shadow Demon King (7)_2
But even so, Zhang Xiaoman still didn’t dare to gamble. If he had to choose again, he would still do the same, because once he lost that bet, the one that might be annihilated could very well be all of humanity.
At this moment, as everyone left one after another, only Naphaya’s figure remained on the field.
Only, although he was alone, the pressure he brought to those Shadow Demons was far greater than that of everyone before added together.
The Split Bodies kept roaring and howling, boundless black aura surging and churning as if it could devour everything at any moment.
However, when Naphaya released the Divine Light of his own aura, all that black aura shrank back in fear, and the entire Shadow Barrier seemed about to be lit up.
The Barrier shuddered and swayed, on the verge of collapse.
Naphaya frowned slightly, not expecting that under the influence of his Divine Light, this Barrier could still hold.
He didn’t hesitate. With a lift of his hand he condensed a Seven-Colored Magic Ball, and through that massive opening he hurled it straight down toward the depths of the underground.
"Boom!!"
A dazzling multicolored light pillar flared from within the opening and shot straight into the sky, instantly piercing through the Barrier and illuminating the whole heavens.
Countless people saw this magnificent scene and couldn’t help but gape, too shocked to say a word.
Some believers silently picked up their cross, pressed it to their chest, and began to pray.
Others couldn’t wait to pull out their wristwatches, wanting to record everything, but they were shocked to discover in the end that every device trying to capture it would be destroyed the instant it observed it. Such gorgeous and beautiful radiance could only be viewed with the naked eye, and could not be preserved.
After Naphaya threw out that Light Ball, he struck again and again in quick succession, wanting to wipe the other party out before it could complete its transformation.
Under such terrifying power, those Split Bodies were suppressed so hard they could barely move. Even the Level-5 Nightmare Shadow, once it touched this multicolored Divine Light, would be annihilated in an instant, leaving not a trace behind.
"Roar!!"
From deep underground came an incomparably furious roar, and then the whole earth began to shake violently.
Through his Special Ability–System of perception, Naphaya could clearly see that the heart wrapped in black aura beneath the ground had already been shattered to pieces by his attacks. A mass of black gas compressed to the extreme was Floating there, and the roar just now had come from within that black gas mass.
Seizing the opportunity, Naphaya crossed his arms over his chest, then slowly opened them. A huge cross-shaped light blasted forth, shooting straight at the black gas mass.
But just as the cross-shaped light was about to hit its target, the space around the black gas mass suddenly quivered slightly. Countless Black Shadows condensed at its side, forming something like a Shield.
"Sss~"
Without a loud sound, the cross-shaped light simply vanished against the black Shield. Seeing this, the corner of Naphaya’s eye couldn’t help but twitch.
"Is it... already too late..."
He could feel that the other side had basically completed its transformation. He had still found it too late; if he could have discovered it a month earlier, perhaps with his own hand he might have strangled that Shadow Demon in its cradle.
The black gas mass suddenly twisted violently, then rapidly expanded, in the blink of an eye taking on a completely different shape.
It was a humanoid monster composed of black shadows. Two horns jutted from its head, black flames burned over its body, its upper half a human form with two arms, while its lower half was a strange mass of black mist.
Compared to the Split Bodies from before, the Dark aura emanating from this monster was several times stronger. That terrifying blackness seemed capable of devouring all Light in the world; just a single glance would give one the feeling of falling into the Abyss.
"Careful, look away!"
Ziwei shouted a warning.
On Da Niu’s back, a few Awakeners whose cultivation wasn’t high enough tried to watch the battle in the distance, but the instant their gaze touched that black human-shaped figure, their whole being fell into it involuntarily.
It was as if in that instant they became vegetables, standing there in a daze, motionless.
"Not good, their souls have been stripped away!"
Seeing this, Ziwei couldn’t help the shock on her face.
Just a single glance, and their souls were absorbed by the other side—so this is the strength of an Extraordinary Level...
A sudden sense of powerlessness surged in her heart. Faced with an opponent of this Level, could Naphaya really handle it?
Even if a Holy Angel restrained the Demon Clan, the gap in strength between the two sides was simply too big. With such a disparity, could that kind of restraint really make up the difference?
In that moment, a faint desire to retreat arose in her heart.
Maybe she should just leave. After all, she had only lived here for a few years, and with her strength there was still a good chance of escaping. There was no need to die here with these people.
But just as that thought was born, her mind suddenly cleared, as if a warm Spiritual Energy had washed over her, soothing the agitation in her heart.
Ziwei turned her head and saw Pei Lingsu not far away. The latter nodded slightly at her and gave her a smile.
"Spiritual power shared connection! She actually connected all of us here!"
Ziwei was a little incredulous. The other party’s spiritual power was actually this strong—not only had she connected everyone, most importantly, she could even resist the Spiritual Attack from that monster.
The moment she thought of Spiritual Attacks, Ziwei couldn’t help but shiver.
"So terrifying... that’s... the Fear Aura..."
She recalled the thought of escape that had just arisen in her heart and felt a wave of lingering fear.
This was the Shadow Demon’s Special Ability—Fear Aura, which could infinitely amplify the fear in people’s hearts, causing their minds to collapse.
Ziwei shook her head hard. Although she knew this was the influence of the Fear Aura, she still felt secretly ashamed of her earlier thoughts.
Though she hadn’t been here long—only a few short years—she had been very happy. She had already come to regard this place as her home.
On ordinary days there was not only plenty of good food, but lots of entertainment facilities too, abundant cultivation resources, and several girlfriends to play with. Most importantly, when she broke things she didn’t have to pay for them. It was simply her dream home—how could she possibly bear to leave!
Thinking of this, Ziwei couldn’t help clenching her small fists, itching to rush up and give that monster a couple of solid punches.
But reason still kept her in check. With her current strength, rushing over there wouldn’t help in the slightest.
Though she had just advanced to the Upper Control Level, she had only just stepped into this realm. Facing an Extraordinary Level opponent, she had absolutely no chance of winning.
What’s more, according to the Star Alliance’s records, she knew Naphaya’s way of fighting when facing a powerful enemy. If she ran over now, she would only tie his hands and feet and become a burden.
A battle at this level was already far beyond what she could interfere with.
In the field, the black figure had already risen from underground to the surface. It flew into midair, its massive body over a hundred meters tall, allowing it to easily look down on Naphaya, who was still in his Human form.
"You actually dared to interrupt me, you despicable Insect!"
The moment the Shadow Demon spoke, the surrounding darkness surged violently. The Shadow Barrier that had been damaged by the multicolored Divine Light healed again, and this time it expanded several times over, directly enveloping all of America.
At that, everyone could no longer remain calm. They had all been watching the battle, but suddenly they were dragged into the battlefield and now faced mortal danger—who could stay composed?
While the crowd was panicking, a voice that filled them with terror resounded in their minds.
"I am the Primordial Dark, the beginning of fear, the ender of all Light, the Shadow Demon King—Nai Wenmo’er! This world shall fall into a kingdom of Dark, and you will become my very first sacrifice!"
