Chapter 1081 - 734: Reinforcements (Part 2)
"Rose, take your team to support Entrance Six at the berth! Gu Lan, suppress the Bug Race artillery on the left high ground! Kuang Xin, clear the right flank of the swarm trying to encircle us!"
"Understood!" The voices of the team members sounded tired, but there was not a hint of hesitation in executing the orders.
They knew, in these fifteen minutes, every second was exchanged with lives for the hope of more Jade Stone Star compatriots to escape.
In the sky, the Star Alliance Fleet's warships struggled against the onslaught of the Bug Race's biological ships, constantly turning into burning wreckage crashing into the ruins, triggering secondary explosions.
The retreat order had long been given, but to cover the final evacuation of ground personnel, these warships continued their desperate rearguard action.
Bai E's mecha was besieged by three massive Bug Race warriors, its Devouring Star Blade clashing against heavy Bone Blades, sparking dazzling flashes.
The mecha's alarms blared incessantly, indicating armor damage and energy depletion.
At the berth entrance, Rose's team was engaged in close combat with the swarms attempting to flood in, with someone falling every second.
Kuang Xin roared as he swept the flanking swarm with his machine gun, but the horde seemed endless.
Time seemed elongated, every second as long as a century.
Just as the defense line was about to collapse, Bai E's psychic senses captured, amidst the abyssal malice of the main nest and the frenzied Bug Race close at hand, several extremely distant but rapidly approaching psychic waves!
A chaotic, primal energy filled with destruction and exuberance; a cold, sharp Elven energy with a shadowy Thorny Bird aura; and another… familiar, stable, human creation's essence!
Then, an extremely encrypted, top-priority communication request forcibly entered the "Thorny Bird" communication matrix and was instantly transferred by Catherine to Bai E's cockpit!
Catherine's voice, filled with barely restrained excitement and disbelief, rang in Bai E's private channel, against a background of suppressed exclamations in the command bridge:
"Sir! Emergency communication! Source… the source is the 'Dawn Light'! It's Helen! They've arrived!"
The next moment, Helen's tired yet crystal-clear voice, imbued with undeniable authority, echoed directly in Bai E's ear like a ray of hope piercing through clouds of despair: 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Bai E, respond if you can hear me."
"The 'Dawn Light' and its escort fleet, a total of three medium-sized frigates, have arrived at the Jade Stone Star's orbit in the Aisera Star System."
"We received the brief situation reports and distress signal you sent through the recorder channel."
"Gong Yan insisted that we come immediately to support."
"Now, report your precise location and needs."
This voice injected a shot of adrenaline into Bai E's fatigued body.
He swung away a Bug Race warrior's Bone Blade, stabilizing the mecha with a powerful move.
He looked up, as if he could see through the thick fungal clouds and fierce battle, to the ship carrying the planet's hope and his close friend above in orbit.
"Helen…" Bai E's voice was low and resolute, with a faint rasp.
"This is Bai E. Position: Jade Stone Star 'Beacon' Main Spaceport, Surface Defense Line of Berth Six. We're executing the final personnel evacuation, under siege by the Bug Race main ground forces, facing severe pressure! The berth entrance is about to fall, transport ship liftoff obstructed! Repeat, urgent orbital fire support needed to clear around the berth and main approaches to the berth! Transmitting coordinate data now!"
"Coordinates received!" Helen's response was crisp, filled with a researcher's efficiency and calm, along with a resolve to fulfill her promise at any cost.
"'Dawn Light' main gun charging! Escort fleet opening fire, cover designated coordinates! Bai E, hold on! We're… home!"
Almost as Helen's words fell, the somber sky over Jade Stone Star was torn apart by a new light!
It wasn't Helen's fleet's artillery that arrived first, but a far-off, more violent force—dozens of thick, twisted, miscellaneous-colored energy beams and solid shells, imprecise yet devastatingly powerful, like a rainstorm, bombarded the Bug Race's dense areas around "Beacon" port!
The blaze of explosions connected into one, instantly turning vast Bug Race areas and ground structures into dust!
The tremendous shockwave even made Bai E's mecha sway.
The Beastmen's signature, chaotic yet devastating orbital bombardment had begun!
Their "warships" stumbled like drunken giants on the orbit, discharging firepower in the most primitive way, targeting everything emitting the scent of bugs.
Simultaneously, those reckless Beastmen even ignored their thousand-meter heights, each diving directly from their crude creations.
They were like green human-shaped missiles, fearlessly crashing into the densest Bug Race areas.
Among them, the most conspicuous, largest one fell straight toward Bai E's direction, landing directly atop a giant bug Bai E was battling with.
"Boom!"
The ground split open, and the bug was pulverized into flesh.
Amidst the slime, that giant Beastman wiped off the Bug Race flesh coating its body and strode out.
A familiar scar lined its face—
"Bladeface Fang?" Bai E recalled the name.
How did they bring these Beastmen along while fetching Helen's fleet?
Bladeface Fang gave Bai E a sinister grin, pointing with his large knife, "I chased your ship! Don't think you can shake me off!"
Bai E shook his head with a wry smile, flipping his battle sword, quickly dashing towards another corner.
Following close behind the Beastmen, beams of ghostly purple, precise, and deadly high-energy particle beams sliced through the battlefield like surgical knives.
They skillfully avoided human defense lines and main structures, accurately targeting Bug Race heavy units and the Flying Dragons attempting interception.
The Dark Elf Fleet, like assassins in the shadows, joined the hunt against the Bug Race with efficient and cold precision.
Their mothership, a ship resembling intertwined thorns, hovered quietly in a higher orbit, exuding a chilling psychic oppression.
Finally, the human standard Light Beam Cannons and missiles from the "Dawn Light" and its escort fleet, laced with familiar energy signatures, plowed through the coordinates Bai E specified, particularly targeting Entrance Six of the berth and the surrounding high-threat Bug Race positions.
While human technology's firepower wasn't as wild as the Beastmen, nor as precise as the Dark Elves, it carried the warmth of home and camaraderie, carving a path for Bai E and his team to survive this chaos-laden battlefield!
The three forces, with their distinct yet equally awe-inspiring approaches, heralded a counterattack above this dying planet!
And their core was singular—to support that man fighting to the final moment to save lives on the planet.
Hovering among the space fleet, the allied commander watched this incredible yet magnificent scene, with only one thought in mind:
Bai E… who exactly is he?
Capable of simultaneously stirring the Beastmen's wild reverence, the Dark Elves' cold gaze, and the home planet's support from across the Star Sea?
Bai E felt the pressure around him suddenly ease, seeing the berth entrance cleared, and hearing the roaring engines of transport ships breaking free of constraints.
He took a deep breath, with the Devouring Star Blade glowing brighter than ever.
"Everyone!" Bai E's voice resounded throughout the team's channel, full of newfound strength, "The reinforcements have arrived! Hold the line and escort the final group of comrades onto the ships! Our battle… isn't over! Target—get everyone off this planet!"
Helen's calm voice guided the fleeing fleet with escort, "Path cleared ahead, good luck."
In the ships carrying the last remnants of Jade Stone Star, countless eyes silently watched these unfamiliar visitors spilling blood for them.
In a moment when they were abandoned by the universe, someone was taking them away from a nightmare akin to hell...
