Yandere Monster Evolution: My Blind Wife Will Become a Demonic Queen
Chapter 11: Jane
Darkness was the only thing that could be seen in every direction. The moon hanging in the sky did little to no help in brightening up the atmosphere.
Blood was flowing on the ground like a lake of water. Heads, limbs, and lifeless bodies fell to the ground with each strike of the blade.
In front of a guy wearing glasses were hundreds of zombies crawling toward him. The glow of his sword was the only light cutting through the darkness.
"They just keep coming like roaches."
He lifted his sword up, and with a single swing, he brought it back down. A ray of light erupted from it, slicing through the burnt skin.
The slash was clean and deadly. It caused the zombies’ bodies to be cut in half. And the range of the attack was so huge that not a single one of them was left unscathed.
When there were no more disgusting humanoid figures to kill, the guy turned his head to his back and looked at the pile of dead bodies in front of him.
Countless goblins were stacked on top of each other until the pile reached more than twenty feet in the sky. That was the source of the overflowing blood on the ground.
"Man, she beats me again?" the guy exclaimed as he examined the mountain of bodies from bottom to top.
When his eyes reached the top, he kept his gaze there for a moment before speaking.
"Hey Jane, don’t you think this is too much? You don’t always have to pile the monsters on top of each other every single time."
Slowly, the figure sitting at the top moved, and the light coming from the guy’s blade fell on it.
Gasp!
The guy gasped as he saw her.
Jane’s whole face was covered in red, and her clothes were also smeared with it. But that wasn’t the reason for his reaction.
In Jane’s hand, she was gripping a beating heart. She was staring at it with full attention.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The place, which had turned quiet just now, was filled with the heart’s beating.
But Jane didn’t seem to like its sound.
"Annoying."
She gripped her hand just a little tighter, and the heart exploded. The drops of blood inside it flew far away and landed on one side of the guy’s glasses.
Annoyed, the guy closed his eyes and sighed.
’Here we go again?! What does she even gain by doing this?’
"The Gate is cleared now. We are gonna leave."
The guy said, and Jane slowly began to stand up.
"Bane."
Finally, she spoke up and looked at the moon.
"You remember the guy who came in with us?"
"Yeah, I do. What about him?"
Bane was shocked by her sudden question.
’She is asking about the collector who came to collect mana stones with us. What about him?’
Jane slowly lowered her gaze and looked at Bane, and as soon as she did, Bane’s eyes widened.
’Don’t tell me...’
"He won’t be collecting anything anymore."
"Y-you killed him too? Why?"
Bane’s shining sword became dull in an instant.
"That jerk was an assassin," Jane answered and jumped down from the pile of bodies, landing in front of Bane.
"Let’s go. Now that we have cleared this Gate, we should prepare to enter another one."
She walked past Bane’s stiffened posture.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
After she had taken three steps, Bane turned around and looked at her back.
’What have you become, my sister?’
They began to walk toward the exit, but they didn’t know what was waiting for them in the outside world.
Reporters were crowding the area in front of a sprawling mass of blue and black smoke that looked like a whirlpool.
Today, news had leaked regarding the S-CLASS hunter Jane.
So all of them had gathered in front of the Gate Jane was inside.
The moment she left, they would ambush her with all kinds of questions.
"If this leak turns out to be true, then it will turn that psychopath’s life upside down," one of the reporters said to his cameraman.
"Yeah, we can’t say anything about the Association, but the public won’t forgive someone like her," the cameraman replied.
"Look, they are coming out!"
The shout reached him, and he quickly stabilized his camera and began to record their exit.
First, Jane came out, and following behind her was her brother Bane.
As soon as they were outside, the Gate behind them disappeared, and a wave of strong wind swept across the ground.
"Ms. Jane, we have received unclear news. We would like you to confirm it."
Jane stopped and looked at the camera.
"Speak,"
Flashes exploded around her. Her face was still covered in blood, and she hadn’t even bothered to clean it off.
"Is it true that you were involved in what happened to the former A-Rank Hunter Viora?"
The question made Jane freeze for a moment, and her hands clenched into fists. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Hunter Jane, did you abandon Viora during the Crimson Gate incident?"
"Did Viora lose her sight because of you?"
As the questions flooded in, Jane gripped her clothes tightly. Then suddenly, she lost the strength in her legs and fell to her knees.
"Arrrghh! S... Stop! Stop! Stop!!!"
