Yandere Monster Evolution: My Blind Wife Will Become a Demonic Queen
Chapter 2: Not Wives.
[Skill: Monster Evolutionary Wife (Unique) - You can transform a woman into a monster. Applicable only to disabled women.]
’What is this? An ability to turn women into monsters? No, wait, that doesn’t sound bad at all.’
I thought and began to read the text again just to make sure I had read it clearly. But when I did, I noticed the text was singular. Wife. Not Wives.
[Note: This is a Unique Bond. Only one ’Monster Wife’ can be evolved. The evolution link is absolute.]
So it’s a one-and-done deal? A single female lead?
If I’m going to spend my life in a world crawling with demons and magical beasts, having one insanely powerful, loyal-to-the-death monster wife is probably better than a harem of weaklings who’d get eaten in an F-Rank Gate.
But that wasn’t important right now. It was the condition... it says it’s only applicable to disabled women. What does that even mean?
The system isn’t clear. Shouldn’t it give me a bit more detail so I can understand it properly?
It’s not like I can even move my legs, so I shouldn’t worry about the evolution thing right now. For now, I have to focus on getting out of this bed and seeing if I really am in the Monarch series or one of its sequels.
"Uhhh..."
The purple-haired girl in the next bed made another sound, and I turned my head to look at her.
She was trying to move her hand toward the side table. Her hand was shaking as she reached for the glass of water.
I thought she was in a vegetative state, but she could move. I watched as her hand reached the glass and her fingers brushed against it.
Smash!
She tried to grab it but missed. The glass slipped from her hands and hit the floor. It shattered into small pieces, and the water splashed all over the ground.
But the girl didn’t flinch. It was like she had been through this situation countless times. She simply moved her hand back to her side and returned to staring at the ceiling with those dead eyes of hers.
’Is this girl okay? She’s been staring at the ceiling this whole time, and now she’s acting strange too?’
I had no clue why she was acting like that or what she was trying to achieve by doing so. The only plausible reason I could think of was...
’Wait... the way she stares... the way she reached blindly... is she...’
The moment the thought crossed my mind, a system screen appeared in front of me.
[Condition Detected: Blindness / Damaged Mana Heart.]
’So I was right. She’s blind. And her Mana Heart, the thing that lets Hunters use powers, is damaged. No wonder the nurse called her a Burnout.’
’And the system said the wife has to be a disabled woman. So it would be a waste to let her rot here. If I transform her, would she see again? Would she become a monster powerful enough to tear an S-Rank boss apart?’
Wait, that is that... how does the transformation even work?
The name is Monster Evolutionary Wife... so maybe the evolution happens after marriage? Damn, I wish my system gave me a manual.
Anyway, she’s the perfect candidate. The system says I only get one, and she’s right here. If I can heal her and turn her into a monster, we’ll both be set for life. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Now I feel motivated. I’m going to work hard and recover. And after that, I’m going to make this girl recover too.
But first... the details. I have to know more about the skill before doing anything.
’Show me the full description of the skill, Monster Evolutionary Wife.’
I thought in my mind and waited for the system to respond. But nothing happened.
"Okay, maybe it’s voice-activated? Show me the details!" I whispered.
Again, silence.
What the hell? Is this a budget system? Does it not have a help desk? Let’s see... if this is a modern system, there has to be a Menu.
I closed my eyes and thought, ’Menu.’
Ding!
[Skill: Monster Evolutionary Wife (Unique)
Effect:
Transform a disabled woman into a High-Tier Monster.
You can customize her evolution path (Appearance, Power, Form).
The Bride becomes your ’Contracted Soulmate.’ One slot only.
Requirement: Establish Union.]
It’s not just a skill, it’s basically a cheat code that can completely turn someone’s life around.
K-chak!
Just as I was thinking about the monster girls in my head, the door slid open and the nurse returned. She was carrying a tray of food in her hands.
As soon as she stepped further inside, her eyes fell on the broken glass and spilled water on the floor.
"Huh? Why is there broken glass on the floor again?"
The nurse’s voice was sharp. She was staring at the purple-haired girl, her brows furrowed in anger.
"What did you do now, you freak?"
Freak? Seriously?
"Hey, I’m talking to you! Did you break the glass on purpose just to make my shift harder?"
"Ugh!" The girl tried to respond, but no matter how hard she tried, her voice was nothing more than a dry sound.
"Stop making those pathetic noises. You can’t even speak properly. Honestly, I don’t know why the Association wastes Mana Potions keeping someone like you breathing."
The nurse reached out and shoved the girl’s shoulder, making her head roll to the side. The girl didn’t fight back. She just closed her eyes and waited for whatever the nurse was about to do.
Looking at this, I felt a surge of heat rise in my chest. I may not be a hero, but I couldn’t let anyone bully my future wife. Especially not some mid-tier nurse.
"Ahem!"
I coughed loudly enough to make the nurse jump.
"It was my fault," I began. "I was thirsty and asked her to pass me her water. While doing that, she dropped it."
"What?" The nurse turned around, and a confused expression appeared on her face. "But Mr. Woo Jin, you have a fresh bottle of premium ionized water right here on your side table. Why would you ask her?"
"I do?" I looked at the bottle placed near me and then back at the nurse. "Oops, I didn’t know that. Sorry."
"Whatever," the nurse muttered, rolling her eyes. "Just don’t make a mess. I’m not here to be a maid for two crippled survivors."
Saying that, she walked over to my bed, pulled the adjustable dining tray over my lap, and placed the food on it.
After that, the nurse walked out without feeding me or the girl.
She knows that I can’t move my body, right?
I glanced at the girl and saw that unlike me, she didn’t even have food placed in front of her.
"Hey, are you not hungry?"
"..."
She didn’t answer and kept doing what she did best—being a statue.
"What is your name? Mine is... well, they call me Woo Jin here."
Actually, Rael sounds way cooler for a guy with a Monster Wife System. But for now, I’ll stick with this name.
"Hey, can you hear me? What’s your name?"
Still nothing.
’Okay, she’s ignoring me.’
As I watched her, I noticed her hand twitching and shaking as she scratched the thin hospital blanket with her nails.
’Is she angry because of how the nurse treated her?’
Ding!
[Condition Detected: Starvation / Frustration / Mana Exhaustion.]
’Starvation? Are they literally not feeding her?’
And frustration too? So she really is angry about the nurse. I think she needs food more than I do.
"Hey, you look like you’re about to pass out. I’ll just give you some of mine."
I tried to lift my arms but couldn’t do so completely. Even after using all my strength, I was only able to shake them a little.
’If it can move, then it can be lifted too.’
For the next few minutes, I kept trying to move my arms, and bit by bit, they began moving more than before.
Soon, I was able to move them freely. Maybe because I am a Hunter in this world, it wasn’t as difficult as it would be for a normal person.
I placed my palm on the sheet, and with much effort, I was able to lift my body up. After that, I slid my legs to the side, and my feet touched the cold ground.
"I did it."
I thought the most important task was complete. But as soon as I put pressure on my legs and stood up, they began shaking violently, and I fell to the ground.
