Just as the leader finished his sentence, the monster was immediately crushed by his attack.

Now, there was nothing except for chunks of concrete stacking on top of each other.

The leader let out a sigh and walked toward us.

"That was rather easy."

The tanker said, and the leader just gave a single nod.

He had killed the gravity monster just like that? Even though it was C-Rank Gate, I was still expecting at least a little bit of tension and heat, but this?

It was unbelievable, but the Gate was cleared with a single move which didn’t even make him break a single sweat.

"Anyway, Brian. I am Black. It is my mercenary name." The leader introduced himself and held out his right hand.

I was a bit dazed by the fact of this insane victory that I didn’t notice it. I couldn’t help but think that there was something more to it.

There was this unsettling sensation that told me something was off about this place and that monster.

"Hey!" The girl’s shout made me focus on the matter in front of me. "The boss is talking to you!"

I looked at the leader and then at his hand. I quickly took his hand and shook it a bit. Why was he introducing himself now of all times?

Did he want to make himself look cooler before telling his name? Then why did he act all mysterious before?

"Hi, Black."

"By the way, I am Tan. Because my skin is tanned." The tanker also chimed in and told me his name or whatever it was. Because Tan just felt like a short form of tanker.

"And here, this ’talk too much’ is Fox."

He continued, pointing toward the girl.

"Hi, Tan, and..." I glanced at the girl and paused for a moment before speaking again, "...Fox."

That was all of the conversation. I was still worried about that monster. If my guess was wrong, then we may have really cleared this.

If not, then we were in more trouble than we could ever imagine. Because this destruction must not be the work of that guy alone. There might be more of them somewhere.

And we also don’t know the goal of this Gate. Is it Hunting, Surviving, or none of these? Because there is also a third type which is called Helping and Assisting.

In those kinds of dungeons, you have to help someone specific. Be it a monster, demon, human, or any species. So, if we don’t offer help in those situations, then we won’t be able to clear the Gate.

"Black, I have something to tell you." I called the leader. I was going to talk to him about this, but before I could, the gravity suddenly lost all its strength and we all began to levitate in the air.

"Woah," Tan let out a surprised voice, but Fox didn’t even react to it.

We were now more than five feet above the ground. Just like us, the concrete that was on the monster also began to move up. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

The only thing that was unaffected by all this was Black. His feet were still touching the ground.

He slowly turned around and found the monster standing again.

The monster didn’t have a mouth and I don’t know where the sound was coming from, but he was able to speak.

He said we are evil. This alone tells me that this is a Helping one. We don’t have to fight him, we have to help him.

But that leaves the question, how? What does he need help with?

Sob... Soob... Sub....

In all this chaos, I heard the faint sound of someone sobbing.

’This voice...’

It was coming from behind an upside-down car that was near me. I moved my hands and legs as fast as I could like I was swimming in water.

"Hey Brian, where are you going?"

Tan shouted, but I ignored him and flew toward the car. But just as I reached the car, the monster released his power and I hit the ground.

"Urg,"

I didn’t have time to waste. While Black was keeping the monster busy, I should quietly see what is hiding behind the car.

I quickly stood up from the ground and looked behind the car. What I saw there made my eyes widen and my heart ache even more.

There, I saw a baby which looked just like the monster who was fighting with the leader.

But what broke my heart was that he was holding something in his hands and was looking at it.

That something was a picture. In it was a human girl who was carrying a baby in her hands.

"mOm," the baby monster let out in his sobs. "MiSS... MOm."
