Chapter 635: Long Time No See, My Enemy
When Edie met with Aaron for the first time
Aaron wore a red plaid shirt, pretending to be gay. He kept calling her in such a soft voice that she almost believed what he said.
When she saw him again, they were in the club. It was her first time to quarrel with Stuart. When she stayed alone in the bedroom, she felt someone was looking at him.
In the beginning, Aaron tried to play a bad guy in front of her. But after he kidnapped her, she realized he was such a poor boy.
He felt so insecure that he had to curl himself up in the corner for a whole night.
She felt so sorry for him.
His mother was always so strict with her, even more, strict compared with the vice president.
To prevent him from painting, she even broke his hands directly.
The only hobby he had was painting. But he was no longer able to lift the pen.
Edie’s been to his gallery. He was quite good at painting. Everything in his painting looked vivid. He took every painting so seriously.
When she separated with Stuart, he always stayed with her to create a surprise for her, take care of her, and ask about her feeling...
He attached great importance in his life. But...she now lost him forever. She would never be able to see him again.
Tears covered her eyes. She couldn’t see anything clearly.
Those nuns kept singing songs in French. That sounded like a blessing, blessing the dead to go to heaven.
Rose Mareau was crying so hard. Her crying sounded heartbreaking. Aaron never got well along with his mother. If he saw this, how would he feel?
It was the first time for Edie to finally meet Aaron’s father. He grew a beard. It seemed that he never cared much about his appearance. At the moment, he was standing beside, wiping his tears in silence.
Edie thought Aaron looked more like his father.
Wilson stood aside those nuns all the time to see Aaron off.
That old man in the board of directors also looked pitiful for Aaron.
Edie heard their conversation. They said Aaron was young but already achieved something. It was such a pity that he died at such a young age.
"What a pity..."
Aaron had never been willing to believe that someone was caring about him. So he played a bad guy all the time. He never expected that there were so many people recalling at his funeral at this moment.
Actually...many people cared about him. But he never realized that. He never knew that.
Tears kept pouring out of her eyes, wetting the white rose on her chest, like dew in the morning.
At this moment, a receptionist at the door said, "Lance William comes for condolence."
This was the first time for Edie to hear Mr. William’s first name.
It was this man that killed Aaron.
Edie held his fist angrily. She stood at the door. When she was about to rush out, Stuart stopped her immediately.
"Stuart, he...." Edie pointed at Lance. She glared at him with burning.
Stuart frowned slightly and comforted her, "Let me handle this."
Seeing this, Lance touched his jaw as usual, and then he laughed out, "Mrs. Yates must be so exciting when seeing me. There might be some misunderstanding between us."
"Misunderstanding? You killed Aaron. It was you," she lowered her voice to avoid any chaos happening here.
William laughed out, "Stuart, don’t you think you should say something for me here?"
"Take our guest in for condolence," Stuart said. Deep in his eyes were scary lighting.
William looked at him. He immediately got Stuart’s meaning.
If he told Edie something at this point, Stuart would never let him go.
All right then. He could have some mercy. Anyway, he’s killed lots of people. He didn’t care about his reputation.
Besides, he really looked forward to Edie’s reflection after knowing the truth.
Quite interesting...
So interesting...
William raised the corner of his mouth, showing an evil smile. He fixed his dark eyes on Edie and then looked away, following the receptionist into the hall.
Seeing this, Edie gnashed her teeth, "Why do you let him go? That asshole, bastard, son of a bitch."
"This is Aaron’s funeral. We should show some respect, at least for Aaron."
Hearing these words, Edie finally held her fist and kept in silence.
But she still fixed her cold eyes on William’s back.
This man was not qualified to come here.
William didn’t stay at the funeral for a long time. When someone told him something near to his ears, he left immediately.
Then, Leon arrived. Arther’s last name was not Leon. Why was he one of the Leon’s?
When Arther showed up with Norman, he looked guilty when seeing Edie. But there were too many people at the funeral. They couldn’t talk to each other. So they didn’t say a word.
But Norman stopped in front of Edie for a few minutes. But he was not staring at her. He was looking at Stuart as if he’s known him for many years.
Stuart remained indifferent. He didn’t even look back at Norman.
These two men’s attitude towards each other was totally different.
Seeing the expression on Stuart’s face, Norman burst into laughter. He put his hands on his waist as usual and left with Arther.
Lots of celebrities gathered at Aaron’s funeral. There was no feast here. After the coffin was put into the grave, the funeral ended.
They took the white rose on their chest and put it in front of the grave monument. In the picture on the grave monument was Aaron smiling. He looked quite naughty.
When Edie was immersed in the memory with Aaron, she heard Willson’s voice.
"This picture is Aaron’s favorite. He asked me to keep it for him. Perhaps he already knew his result at the very beginning."
Did he give the picture to Willson?
Why? Why did he choose the picture for the grave so early? How did he feel when he asked Willson to keep it for him?
Edie sobbed in silence. Then she put the white flowers down.
"I didn’t know it was the last time to see you."
In the training basement, Edie was so indifferent to Aaron. She didn’t expect that was the end.
Edie and Stuart walked behind the crowd. When they were about to leave, Stuart stopped suddenly and asked Homers to take Edie back. He asked her to take a rest and keep in a good mood. Otherwise, it would influence the baby.
Edie knew Stuart loved his brother deeply. Though they’ve fought with each other all these years, Stuart never hated Aaron. He always regarded Aaron as his brother.
So Edie walked away, leaving Stuart alone with his brother.
Stuart squatted down slowly. Looking at Aaron smiling in the picture, Stuart’s heart started trembling hard.
"Sorry."
The first sentence was his apology that he never gave him before. He wanted to apologize to Aaron for all he’s done to him these years.
He’s said too many words. Suddenly, he heard someone stepping towards him. He stopped immediately.
The stepping sounded powerful and determined.
When he stopped in front of Stuart, he said in a coltish voice, "Long time no see, my enemy."
