Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 1850 - 1847: Hell Netherfire (Part 2)
Upon hearing such disdainful words, Zhang Heyuan’s face immediately turned cold: "I call you Lord Wuchang out of respect for the Netherworld, not out of fear. Matters of the Human Realm are decided by the Human Clan."
"The Human Clan is nothing but a rabble. Do you still think it’s the same as before..." Lord Wuchang sneered continuously. He was about to continue when a Ghost Messenger stepped forward and whispered something.
"Lord Wuchang, is that person over there someone who illegally entered the Netherworld?" the Ghost Messenger asked softly.
Wuchang glanced for a moment, frowned, and said: "Yes, but don’t worry about him. They don’t bite off more than they can chew, and neither do we. Just complete the task at hand."
"It looks like he knows the Zhang Family. I’m just worried he might disrupt our mission," the Ghost Messenger said quietly again.
"What are you scared of? We carry the Netherworld King Order; who dares to obstruct us? Stop talking nonsense and quickly ignite the Hell Netherfire. What does it matter if a few mortals die?" Lord Wuchang waved his hand and ordered coldly.
All the Ghost Messengers nodded in agreement: "Yes, Lord Wuchang."
Lord Wuchang took out a black token from his body, placed it in front of Zhang Heyuan, and said coldly: "Master Zhang, we do not wish to have a conflict with the Zhang Family. This is the Netherworld King Order. Please assist the Ghost Messengers in igniting the Hell Netherfire. You are a Demon Exorcist and should know not to act sentimentally; otherwise, if something happens, neither of us can afford the consequences."
Looking at the pitch-black Netherworld King Order, Zhang Heyuan’s face changed colors. Finally, he gritted his teeth and said: "I’m not doing it anymore. You want to ignite it, go ahead."
He understood the severity of the Blood Evil outbreak, but he couldn’t bear to burn living people, even though these people were already controlled by parasites and Blood Evil.
Lord Wuchang sneered again and waved his hand to let the Ghost Messengers proceed. Without Zhang Heyuan, the Ghost Messengers could also ignite the Hell Netherfire. As the Ghost Messengers moved forward, a person blocked them; naturally, it was Lin Tian.
Xiao Manxuan remained puzzled, as she still couldn’t see the Ghost Messengers from the Netherworld and didn’t understand why Lin Tian was blocking mid-air.
Lin Tian expressionless, his eyes coldly ruthless: "Who dares to advance, I will destroy them!"
Although the Ghost Messengers could scare ordinary people, Lin Tian was a zombie, and his presence was not something typical Ghost Messengers could contend with. They were taken aback, unsure whether to advance or retreat.
At the moment of the standoff, Lin Tian’s phone rang; he answered it in front of the Ghost Messengers, seemingly oblivious to them, while they dared not move forward.
Such resolve, one man blocks all, rendering thousands of ghosts helpless.
"Lin Tian, Elder Jiang and the professors are currently merging the formula. The Special Medicine No. 1 could be ready at any time; hold on, don’t give up hope," Ning Luoxi’s urgent voice transmitted through the phone.
"Don’t worry, I’ll fight until the special medicine appears and won’t retreat a step," Lin Tian said calmly, his expression unusually serene. Those familiar with him would know, the calmer Lin Tian is at crucial moments, the more cold-blooded and ruthless he becomes.
He didn’t mention Zhang Heyuan’s compromise, he simply hung up the phone and faced the Netherworld forces alone.
"A mere mortal frightens you to such an extent—useless, attack!" Lord Wuchang felt deeply humiliated and shouted orders.
Under the master’s command, the Ghost Messengers had no choice but to move forward. A wave of arms brought forth dark and cold steel forks in their hands, like a shrew stabbing yin souls, piercing toward Lin Tian.
Lin Tian curled his lips into a contemptuous smirk, his body flickered so swiftly that a shadow emerged, remnants of his form lingering momentarily. He had already returned to his original position.
However, now he held a Ghost Messenger in his grasp. Lin Tian clasped the Ghost Messenger’s neck, defying any struggle to escape.
"I said, whoever advances, I will destroy them," Lin Tian coldly swept his gaze across the Ghost Messengers while his free right hand plunged into the Ghost Messenger’s heart area, his palm emerging from the back.
No blood, no screams, the Ghost Messenger immediately turned into a blue mist, vanishing into the world. The dreadful Ghost Messenger, destroyed by Lin Tian with a single motion, cleanly and ruthlessly, terrified the others back three steps.
The Ghost Messenger are also yin souls; humans die, the Ghost Messenger too will face death. Lin Tian saw their fear in their eyes; Ghost Messengers fear death, perhaps fearing reincarnation; perhaps in future lives, they will enter the Beast Path, becoming creatures subject to slaughter.
"Daring to kill the Netherworld’s Ghost Messenger, you must be utterly audacious. According to Netherworld law, you should fall into the Reincarnation Path and enter the Beast Path!" Lord Wuchang shouted angrily.
He flipped his hand, revealing a wheel, with six symbols representing the Heavenly Dao, Asura Path, Human Path, Beast Path, Hungry Ghost Dao, Hell Path.
"Reincarnation Soul Capture, return!" Lord Wuchang whispered, as the six symbols on the wheel emitted gray light.
The Ghost Messengers heard the call, quickly retreating to surround Lord Wuchang, simultaneously raising their steel forks, which also shone with gray light and merged with the light of the wheel.
A pitch-black hole appeared above, from which the sound of howling winds and faint cries emanated. A beam of light gathered at the edge of the hole, ready to shoot forth at any moment.
"Lin Tian, quickly go, leave here! If you’re hit by the Reincarnation Light, your soul will be captured into the Reincarnation Path, due to your act of killing the Ghost Messengers, surely falling into the Beast Path!" Zhang Heyuan shouted anxiously.
Xiao Manxuan couldn’t see anything but sensed Zhang Heyuan’s urgency, knowing the situation spiraled out of control. Yet she could do nothing, unable to see the Ghost Messenger.
However, Lin Tian didn’t leave; he had vowed to fight until the special medicine emerged, refusing to retreat or flee.
Besides, time was running out; suddenly, a gray beam shot out from the black hole, large enough to envelop Lin Tian entirely. Who could outrun the speed of light?
Seeing Lin Tian enveloped by the Reincarnation Light, Lord Wuchang smiled triumphantly, while the other Ghost Messengers breathed a huge sigh of relief. In their view, no one could escape Reincarnation Soul Capture. Those illuminated by the Reincarnation Light would have their souls forcible severed from their bodies and captured into reincarnation.
But their relief soon turned to shock—Lin Tian bathed in the Reincarnation Light, not only unreasonably untouched but also glowing with a phenomenal might, like a demon, like a god, majestic and formidable.
In disbelief, Zhang Heyuan pondered whether he would later storm the Netherworld to retrieve his future son-in-law’s soul. But Lin Tian was completely unharmed.
"Old Zhang, you’re making a fuss—what exactly happened?" Xiao Manxuan, confused, urged for answers.
"Just see for yourself," Zhang Heyuan retrieved a bottle and flicked its contents into Xiao Manxuan’s eyes.
Xiao Manxuan felt a coolness in her eyes; as she blinked, a drastically altered scene unfolded before her, startling her—Ghost Messengers, Reincarnation Light, Lin Tian surrounded by the Light—all vividly appeared before her eyes.
Clever as she was, she immediately pieced together the earlier conversation and understood everything.
