Chapter 77: Heal Potions vs Scrolls, The Death Curse Skill!

Faust’s vision returned slowly. He felt like an overcooked christmas chicken. Heat rushed from his body like a popped balloon. Internal bleeding?

His ears popped, blood flowing from them, as they healed enough for him to hear.

"Don’t die! Come on! You can heal this!" Nirvana screamed over him.

Faust blinked. Her beautiful face was tear stricken. Her blue hair was stained with his blood. He raised a hand and flicked her cheek, leaving a bloody print, and grinned.

Nirvana let out a shaky breath. "Holy shit. Can we not do that again?"

"Didn’t... expect the boom to be that... big," Faust rasped. His throat felt raw and tasted like blood.

"I already used two Health potions," Nirvana cursed. "There was a moment there while I was waiting for the timer to end... I thought you would die."

Health potions could only be used every ten seconds. This scales with your Constitution of course. If she used it too quickly, he’d gain the poisoned status and just die faster.

She took out something else, a spell scroll that she had gotten as her reward from the Third wave’s rewards. It was a healing scroll she had suggested earlier. But she only had five.

Faust stopped her, grabbing her hand. "No, we’re saving those. I told you I can regenerate. Heal scrolls don’t have cooldowns like positions, they’re way too valuable. Maybe not against Fix..."

Within a minute, most of his injuries were healed, but his blood supply was completely drained. Nirvana noticed this and took off her jacket then lowered the collar of her blouse.

Faust bit his lip, holding back his smile. He sunk his teeth into her pale skin, taking her slender body into his arms. Her warm breaths grew heavy against his neck. Nail dug into his back as her grip tightened.

"Thank you." He kissed the rapidly fading bite marks.

"Mmhmm~" She hid her face, but her entire neck was red. "Don’t drink anyone else’s blood, okay?"

"Okay." He got up stumbling. Nirvana supported him to the edge of the devastation. A massive crater formed beneath the explosion caused by Faust’s replication of Fix’s attack. On the other side of the crater the Iron sphere housing the Kalan sparked and rolled.

"I hope you—" Faust started.

Nirvana raised a glowing lapel. "His armor healed quickly. I wanted to come to you, but..."

He was glad she followed his orders. They had texted Kye shortly before the battle started about how they all flew and she explained that it was an Equipment.

"They’re called Lapis Lapels," Kye had explained, while they watched Negan. "They provide pretty comprehensive movement through space for most species. Lapis, the maker of the lapels, is quite the fashion icon. Even Kalans use her Equipment."

Nirvana threw the Lapis Lapel into her Spatial bag. This didn’t make her the owner, but it stopped the owner from just summoning it back.

"Did you get a peek at the alien?" Faust said with a grin.

Nirvana made a disgusted face. "It’s like a smaller, uglier goblin. Their skin is the color of puke and their skull had all these jutting bones. And he was naked!"

She made all these overdramatic movements and finally collapsed into Faust’s arms in the end. He liked this version of her much better.

The iron sphere—Apocalyspe—was fully repaired it seemed. It rolled up and started searching the battlefield.

Do machines have regeneration skills? That would be cool honestly. Like auto-repair. Wait... are there non-organic machine species?

Kalans in general were interesting. They fused magic and tech into a planet destroying magic 8 balls. But this one was severely limited. The system not only has a limited level and combat power, but also skill level.

Something like Concentrated Fireball and Lightning Shot were probably far higher outside here.

Fix’s original plan was to breach the Spatial boundaries between the Origin Server and Earth. Once outside this server, all his powers would probably return, allowing him to destroy earth in seconds.

But he would have to settle for a Novice Village of ten thousand.

Faust didn’t even have to say it, Nirvana turned into a bat with a puff of black smoke and gave him distance. She hid it well, but he knew she was feeling really weak now.

Earlier, she had used her Death Curse skill against Fix, cutting both their health in half. It was a skill she had avoided using most of their time here, until Faust convinced her too.

Death Curse’s true potential lies in bringing down enemies far stronger than the user.

He even made her upgrade it to level 2, which made Death Curse gain a health rebound function. If they killed Fix, Nirvana’s health would return and increase a little, mostly likely meaning her constitution would go up.

A high-pitched cry sounded from the Apocalypse. Fix had seen him. One of the guns turned on him and fired.

Yeah, I’m not replicating that again.

The projectile got faster as it travelled, but it travelled in a straight line and was small as hell. Faust jumped out of its way and continued running.

Fix fired three more times. Each attack created a tunnel of wind and friction meant to trap the enemy in place. But Faust made sure to avoid all of them.

BOOM! FWOOSH!

The area was filled with the constant sound of explosions and roaring wind. It was like standing next to a jet engine. Faust’s bones rattle from a narrow dodge. His ears stung.

Skidding to a stop, Faust finally launched a counter attack.

Heavy Fireball!

The flames formed were the size of a house. The ground shook as it travelled. The heat distorted the air and Fix glowed like a sun as light bounced off his armor. But Fix didn’t even move to dodge.

Once the fireball hit the gravity field around Fix, it dropped as its weight multiplied and exploded from just the stress.

BOOM!

The crater grew deeper and a shockwave rippled outward. Fix disappeared behind the flames, but Faust knew better than to assume the Kalan was hurt by that attack.

Seven more seconds before his cooldown ends. I might not be able to bring down that field for Nirvana.

Then he would have to distract Fix.

He moved suddenly, dodging a purple laser beam fired from behind the fires. The sneaky alien tried to attack while it was covered.

"You’re the one meant to be blinded here." Faust chuckled.

He pulled out his axe and started striking the air. Until he had performed fourteen attacks.
