Chapter 78: Supreme-Grade Schema, Using The Annihilation Effect

The fire cleared from the ever deepening crater and Fix found himself alone. His armor rotated, pointing its four guns in all directions lazily. Once again an irritating snarl echoed from Apocalypse as Fix remembered its lapel was stolen.

Apocalypse rolled forward slowly. Heat rolled off the metallic sphere.

It searched for the black bat and found it hovering over a building, but couldn’t guarantee a hit.

Fix aimed nevertheless. The Death Curse was the biggest problem. Necromancers in general, even the organic ones were a pain in the ass. But before it could fire—

CRACK!

The ground beneath the iron sphere crack open revealing a stone serpent and Faust riding it. He was covered in dust and a couple painful bruises, but his plan worked. Fix’s gravity had been dispelled beneath the Iron Sphere so it could move easily.

The stone serpent was one of the Schemes he copied when the event had just began.

But combined with Fix’s Schema the ability found new strength.

[Distance-Damage Amplification]

[Grade: Supreme]

[Details: Your projectiles are subject to a relationship to distance and damage. You can control the strength and speed of the projectile based on distance travelled.]

[Annihilation]

[Grade: Supreme]

[Details: Apply the Annihilation effect to your attacks.]

The stone serpent technically counted as a projectile even though Faust was riding it. By moving in a circle around the crater a couple times, he amplified the damage of the serpent.

BANG!

The moment it hit the iron sphere a rattling explosion rang out. The air boom from the simple impact. The steel of Apocalypse finally dented and was damaged by one of Faust’s attacks.

But Fix was not moved by the attack. It was like the sphere was rooted to the earth. The stone serpent crashed into it and shattered.

Using Bolster and Growth, Faust was able to jump through the debris and explosion, finally getting close to Fix. His axe glowed with silver light as he swung and the shadowy head of a jackal formed as the blade met steel.

Fix ignored his axe and turned his guns to fire. The attack shouldn’t even damage the armor. At least that was what he thought.

SHING!

The axe cleaved clean through the armor, severing metal like paper and sending sparks into the air. The Kalan shrieked. Faust grinned.

Annihilation is quite terrifying.

It completely ignored Fix’s armor and went straight for the alien within. Dark Maw also avoided biting into steel and instead slipped through the gaps to bite within. Green blood leaked from within the Apocalypse.

But Fix wasn’t done.

The gun turned once again. Faust cursed and placed his axe over his chest. Focus! He felt the impact of the bullet before he heard it. His feet skidded across the ground as the bullet threw him back, but his mind remained rooted enough for him to use another skill.

Shadow Step!

His vision turned black and he reappeared at the edge of the crater. The bullet was already tearing across the city. His axe had been slightly dented and charred but it was mostly alright...

"I don’t appreciate this thing enough."

[Unyielding Axe (Silver): A heavy weapon born only for war. It increases your resilience to pain. This axe holds a well of power only accessible if you are unwilling to surrender. Requirements: Level 5, 150 Strength, 150 Constitution]

It had no attribute enhancements, but it was hardy and chopped almost anything apart. Its requirements were low too and there was the mysterious ’Well of power’ that he wasn’t able to access just yet.

Fix wasn’t dead yet, despite the bad injuries he must have within that armor. Kye did say they could choose what stats to put their attributes in before coming here. Maybe Fix poured everything in Constitution and Spirit.

The Patrons couldn’t even die. Once they reached a critical state they would disappear. These guys were tourists. Very boring.

Apocalypse fired two more times almost instantly, but this time it made sure to arrange the shots on both sides of Faust. Ensuring each wind tunnel that followed the shots boxed him in.

The wind was screaming in both his ears. Fix’s Earbuster. The skill was named well. The final gun pointed right at him with no way to escape. If he jumped up, he would be caught in the narrow gap between the wind tunnels.

And he did not want to know what happened to a person when that happened.

I could go down with the Serpent’s Call.

But he had a crazy idea.

"I have to open a gap for Nirvana anyway," Faust muttered, smiling. He shouted her name which was their basic signal. She chirped in her bat form and circled the battlefield.

He sent a mental signal to his summons. The Vanguard summon—whom Faust was calling Pebble—appeared beside him. He had considered giving Bolster to his Vanguard, but he highly doubted the summon could block a single shot from Fix.

So he decided to change the paradigm.

Fix fired two shots directly at them. They were boxed in by the wind tunnels and Faust’s Shadow Step was still on cooldown. No escape.

Pebble used Shadow Step to enter Fix’s gravity field, positioning itself behind the iron sphere. It instantly fell to its knees from the increased weight.

Instance Replication!

He once again used Kye’s feat of shifting the entire world right to turn Fix’s attack aside. The wind tunnels boxing Faust in were torn apart by.

Faust leapt into the air and used Fireball. The attack was imbued with Annihilation. Fix instantly amplified his gravity field in the direction of the fireball. The fireball was instantly flattened and the flames washed over the ground, flattened unnaturally.

"You’re scared now!" Faust mocked.

But strengthening his gravity field in one direction weakened it in the other.

A/N: I forgot to include that you can imbue one skill into summons and give them one equipment.
